(1) Background: Dating violence (DV) among adolescents constitutes a serious problem, not only because of the magnitude of the phenomenon, but also because of the seriousness of the personal and social consequences derived from it. The objectives of this study were the following: to analyze the prevalence of DV among adolescents in residential care and in schools, according to sex, age and origin, and to analyze the prevalence of the types of violence and victimization, according to the residential care resource and the school. (2) Methods: The sample consisted of adolescents in residential care in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country (Spain) (n = 271) and adolescents in schools (n = 268) aged between 12 and 17 years. (3) Results: The results showed a higher prevalence of DV in adolescents in residential care than that found in other studies with a normative sample. (4) Conclusions: These results support the need for work and research with these minors in residential care. It also gives an important weight to sociodemographic variables, such as age and sex, and also to the types of violence and victimization, i.e., variables to be taken into account in the intervention with adolescents. Future educational programs should consider DV prevention and children in residential care.

This chapter tries to discover how primary school teachers understand what literacy is and to what extent this conceptualisation is influenced by factors indicated by previous literature, such as training, previous experiences, or beliefs (see Korthagen, 2001; and Pozo et al., 2006), while also considering whether working in a bilingual context or being a bilingual teacher may be influential to produce certain types of definitions. Data was gathered using an online questionnaire directed to teachers in Years 3 and 4 in the Madrid Autonomous Community. The responses from the participants (n=115) were categorised and analysed using SPSS. The findings indicate that most definitions rarely fulfil the requirements to be considered complete or entirely accurate. Results also show that only age is a significant variable in producing better definitions. Finally, the study recommends reshaping and offering appropriate teacher training on literacy to update teachers' knowledge and ultimately boost leads to better learning in the classrooms.

It is about making visible and showing the characteristics of the biological families of the boys and girls who are adopted in the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia between the period 1987-2007. To verify these data, an exhaustive study of a total of 29 adoption files provided by the General Directorate of Families, as well as 4 interviews with adoptive parents. They constitute a sample and a significant example of the characteristics and social traits of biological families. Through case studies, we reflect on whether they have been excluded from the adoption process due to the characterization that emerges from them, as they are framed in serious problematic contexts that accentuate the risk that the minors entail living in these families.

Abstract. Active Tourism has been a developing business sector in the Spanish territory. There are a great diversity of different regulations and legislation for each Autonomous Community. The practice of physical activity in the natural environment entails the exposure of the athletes to the possibility of suffering an accident. In the absence of an Action Procedure for accidents in active tourism activities, an application tool has been developed for all activities in the sector. It has been based on the aspects to be assessed by the Active Tourism guide. The tool stablishes five steps to follow, from the accident until the end of the activity. A bibliographic review and consultation with a group of experts has been carried out. The group of experts were linked to risk prevention, rescue, organization, and guide of activities in the natural environment and active tourism. The proposed procedure provides guidelines for safe action in the event of an accident, for Active Tourism guides, based on current regulations and the characteristics of the activities they carry out, to ensure correct action to correct, or avoid, the grievance of the injuries suffered and / or facilitate the rescue and evacuation of the injured person.

The aim of this study was to characterize those schools in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country (Spain) with high numbers of immigrant students in accordance with their effectiveness level (high or low). Three effectiveness criteria (scores, residuals, and times) were used to select the schools, resulting in three models: a ceiling or floor effect model, a contextualized cross-sectional model, and a contextualized longitudinal model. Of the 524 initial schools analyzed, 7 were found to have high or low effectiveness levels and higher-than-average immigration levels. Following the selection, the discourses of 40 education stakeholders were analyzed through semi-structured interviews and discussion groups. The results highlight the strong sense of vulnerability felt in some schools, as well as the general conviction that greater support, commitment, and stable, collaborative leadership by the management team and inspectorate would contribute to improving effectiveness.

Higher Education institutions must respond to the major challenges posed by the technological transformations of recent years. For this, one of the key aspects is that the teachers working in them are trained to incorporate these technologies in teaching–learning processes, which requires them to be digitally competent. To analyse how gender relates to the level of competence of teachers, the types of ICT tools that they use, and their attitudes towards their implementation in teaching–learning processes, this quantitative research was carried out with the participation of 121 university teachers from the Autonomous Community of Aragon, all of them from the area of Social and Legal Sciences. The results show a differentiated profile between men and women in terms of their attitudes, beliefs, and self-perception regarding their management skills and effectiveness.

Abstract Objective: To describe the combustion process of sugarcane RAC with CO2 capture by manganese-based oxygen transporters during the period from 2015 to 2021. Design: Bibliometric observational study. Location: Combustion of cutting waste with CO2 capture by manganese-based oxygen conveyors.Main measures: Magazine, year of publication, first/last author, workplace and autonomous community were obtained in each register. Subsequently, the articles were classified according to their content or research area. The impact factor was obtained from the bibliometric analysis base of Scopus and Vos viewer. Results: Using the search criteria, 475 documents were recovered in the 2015-2021 period, excluding 2637 because they did not correspond to affiliation with centers or institutions directly related to documents related to chemical combustion and CO2 capture. In total, 73 documents were selected, in which an increase and interest in the study of these processes was verified both in the research areas and in the journals in which they are published. Most of the studies have been published in universities or research centers, and differences were observed in terms of the volume of international and national scientific production, so it is necessary to increase these investigations in Colombia.
