This article aims to create a knowledge economy model to be applied in the state of Hidalgo, conducting an exhaustive investigation on the formation of a knowledge economy, as well as a comparative analysis between the state of Hidalgo and nine states more than the Mexican Republic with a certain criterion, in relation to the factors that delimit said economy. These factors are a series of variables taken from 2015: literacy, upper secondary and higher education, researchers, Innovation Stimuli Program (PEI), Mixed Fund associated with the state government (FOMIX), telephony, internet, computers, television, patents, industrial designs and utility models. To later use a method created by the World Bank, which is called Knowledge Assessment Methodology (KAM).

From epistemological and methodological perspectives, the pre-predicative experience is essential for the self-performed knowledge assessment. Husserl speaks about the “self-evident” knowledge in the context of phenomenological reduction, and the concept of self-evidence is postulated to unfold as part of pre-predicative experience. However, Husserl does not explain the content of the latter. This article conducts a comprehensive study of the attributes of pre-predicative experience and precedent phenomenon alongside three dimensions of order, category, and function. The analysis argues that the pre-predicative experience is influenced by precedent knowledge.

Abstract Educating ecological literacy and a conscious attitude to the world around us is a long and purposeful process, which is based on the didactic principles of pedagogy and the laws of nature. The problem of the formation of an ecologically cultured and competent personality is now becoming one of the central and significant ones. Environmental literacy consists of such components as environmental knowledge, assessment of the surrounding reality, foreseeing the consequences of human activity in nature, studying all methods of competent nature management and striving for environmental protection. Thus, environmental literacy is a product of environmental education and upbringing. The direct formation of environmental literacy occurs in the process of the purposeful influence of the teacher. An ecologically developing environment in an educational organization should contribute to the development of the student’s cognitive activity, broadening his horizons, ecological and aesthetic development, and the formation of a holistic picture of the world.

Background: Healthcare providers who care for patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) must be able to provide effective counseling about a kidney friendly diet. Nutrition is under-emphasized in medical curricula, and the kidney diet is one of the most challenging diets. We hypothesized that participation in an experiential educational program in kidney diet will result in improved knowledge of the underlying principles behind it and provide concrete examples of how to explain this diet to patients. Methods: The first part of this study was a knowledge assessment administered to all United States nephrology fellows during the 2020 National Board of Medical Examiners Nephrology In-Training Exam. We later opened the assessment to a broader, global audience via social media. Respondents included trainees, practicing nephrologists, dieticians, and other health professionals. Participants self-identified willingness to participate in the second part of the study, the Kidney Diet Challenge (KDC). The 5-day challenge included daily webinars by experts in nutrition. Daily surveys captured self-reported adherence to the diet. Social media was used to engage with participants. All participants received a follow-up knowledge assessment. Results: Among the nephrology fellows (n=317), the median pre-test score was 2 out of 5 (40%) questions correct, and results did not differ by year of training (p=0.310). Of the participants (n=70) who completed the 5-day challenge and responded to the post-challenge survey, the post-test score was significantly higher (p<0.01) and 'ability to advise patients about kidney diet' improved (p<0.01). Analyzing stats from our official hashtag for this study (#kidneydietchallenge) showed that we achieved 406,241 reaches, 1,004,799 impressions with a total of 974 posts using this hashtag. Conclusions: The KDC is an immersive, experiential educational tool that enabled a global population to learn how to better counsel their patients about adherence to a complex kidney diet.

Assessment of caregiver knowledge is an essential part of home healthcare education for pediatric tracheostomy care, however, there is a paucity of evidence in long term. This study aims to determine how caregiver knowledge and misconceptions, as assessed by our knowledge test, changed over a 12-month period following our educational program and whether the test score was associated with any demographics of the caregivers and children with tracheostomy. A prospective cohort study was undertaken to evaluate the knowledge at 3 timepoints after tracheostomy education: baseline (T1), 6 months (T2), and 12 months (T3). Test scores were analyzed for trend and relationship with demographics. Items for which less than 80% caregivers gave correct responses at T1 were considered common misconceptions. Fifty-four caregivers were enrolled. Out of a maximum score of 25, the median (IQR) scores were 22 (21-23), 23 (22-24), and 23 (22-25), at T1, T2, and T3, respectively. The scores at T2 and T3 were significantly higher than at T1 ( P ≤ .01). One common misconception “how to manage when suction got less secretion than expected” was found at all timepoints. Caregivers of children with >2 comorbidities scored slightly higher than those of children with 0 to 2 comorbidities ( P = .01). In conclusion, our caregivers achieved high knowledge scores which increased over the 12-month study period potentially because of repeated assessment and practical experience. Common misconceptions and a factor associated with the knowledge were also identified. These advantages highlighted the importance of knowledge assessment for quality improvement.
