Trends in the transformation of primary health care in the WHO European Region during the pandemic

During the COVID-19 pandemic in the WHO European Region, primary care underwent continuous transformation that proved the important role of this medical fi eld. In diff erent countries, the transformation process has gone diff erently and diff erent goals and objectives were determned. Th e narrative review was conducted using a number of 15 publications, pragmatic and action-oriented, describing the policy instruments that countries have implemented to strengthen the role of primary health care during the pandemic response, as well as to maintain essential health. Th e case studies, published in series by WHO, were analyzed and evaluated in terms of common and country-specifi c trends in the WHO European region. Interventions described in WHO publications focused on the following areas: Strengthening governance and legislative frameworks; Strengthening the workforce, multidisciplinary team; Community and distance services; E-health and digital solutions; and Prevention, health promotion and education programs. Regardless of the results obtained, the continuous transformation of primary health care in different countries in the WHO European Region during the COVID-19 pandemic has allowed the adjustment of medical services provided to the situation created and contextual to the health system. Th is transition period allowed the learning of a number of lessons, both general and specifi c to specifi c countries. By presenting the crucial role of primary health care during the pandemic and beyond, the cases described by WHO have enabled the exchange of experience between countries to inspire policy action and accelerate long-term reforms in primary health care

Measuring Career Adaptability in a Sample of Italian University Students: Psychometric Properties and Relations with the Age, Gender, and STEM/no STEM Courses

The continuous transformation of the labor market, characterized by great instability and uncertainty, and by rapid technological changes, has strongly influenced the construction and management of career paths. Nowadays, individuals are faced with careers that are fluid and boundaryless, characterized by discontinuity and a variety of organizations to deal with. In this scenario, the ability to adapt and react to continuous changes in the labor market and in organizations is now a priority for workers. This study presents the psychometric properties of the construct of Career Ability measured through Proactive Personality and Boundaryless Mindset as proxy variables in a sample of 579 adults enrolled at the University of Cagliari (Italy), or recently graduated therein. We aim to rate the factorial structure of the items and to evaluate their multi-group invariance regarding the gender variable. Moreover, the criterion and concurrent validity were assessed. The instrument shows good psychometric characteristics; factorial structure, factorial invariance in relation to the gender variable, concurrent, and criterion validities were confirmed.

Franz Schuberts "Wandererfantasie"

Franz Schubert’s D760 is entitled “fantasy”, although the four sections of the work recognisably reference the formal models of a four-movement sonata. Since those models appear in their traditional order, the “fantasy” elements have to manifest themselves differently, transgressing the norms of sonata in two ways: Schubert transforms and deconstructs the individual forms of the four-movement model, while suspending the autonomy of each movement. Both strategies are interrelated: by blurring the form of each movement, Schubert opens them up to the following sections. This is rendered plausible because the movements, which connect seamlessly, are derived from the same thematic material.The deconstruction of the formal models manifests itself in the elision of formal units, the interpolation of non-formal sections, and the startling curtailing of developmental procedures within the formal units. These formal licences generate ambiguous structures that do not lend themselves to definite formal interpretations. Thus formal ambiguity is a constituting element of the “fantastic” in D760.The thematic unity of the work is a result of the continuous transformation of a motif first presented in the main theme of the first movement; a process, in which new variants emerge from the synthesis of previous variations. Furthermore, the Presto, which stands in for the scherzo movement of the Fantasy, reverse engineers the sonata form of the first movement (which had been abandoned before the recapitulation) while completing and normalising the form of the first movement by aligning it with the scherzo form. Thus the Presto assumes the formal function of the missing recapitulation, whose “wrong” key of A flat major is “rectified” through the C-major finale.

The B2 Structural Motif as a Tool for Modulating Ring Currents in Monocyclic Li Clusters

Magnetically induced current densities, calculated at the M06-2X/def2-TZVP level using the diamagnetic-zero version of the continuous transformation of origin of current density (CTOCD-DZ) method, were employed to study the aromaticity in Li3B2− and Li4B2. It was found that the Li3/Li4 rings in Li3B2− and Li4B2 remarkably resemble the monocyclic Li3+ and Li42+ clusters. Unlike the parent Li3+ and Li42+ systems that sustain negligibly weak global current density circulation, the Li3B2− and Li4B2 clusters exhibit a strong diatropic current density. The present work demonstrates how structural modifications introduced by the B2 unit can be used for modulating the current density in cyclic Li-based clusters.

The epidemiological transition

The epidemiological transition was thought to be a unidirectional process, beginning when infectious diseases were predominant and ending when noncommunicable diseases dominated the causes of death. It is now evident that this transition is more complex and dynamic where health and disease evolve in diverse ways. It is rather a continuous transformation process with some diseases disappearing and others re-emerging. PROTECTION OF CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE FROM EMERGING THREATS

Today's society is in a continuous transformation towards a digitalized society. The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated worldwide the transition from the physical to the online environment of services provided by both public and private institutions. With a digitized society in our defense types of risks, threats and risks to critical infrastructures that support digital evolution. Thus, opponents turn their attention to new forms of asymmetric attacks to generate states of terror against states or individuals or groups of people. Thus, among the newest and most developed threats are those that use cyberterrorism, network-based warfare or attacks using technologies imported from the military such as drones carrying improvised explosive devices. Countermeasures and resilient systems must be prepared against them.

Healing through the landscape

This study investigates the significance of landscape therapy under the impact COVID-19 pandemic. Deurbanization and social distancing drives many city dwellers to their second homes (dacha) in the countryside or stimulates house trade and construction in the rural areas. This expands the possibilities of the body’s recovery. One of the main methods is landscape therapy, along with the cultivation of their own agricultural products by the townspeople in the landscape-geochemical environment familiar to them. Of all natural components, water (natural mineral waters, mud, lakes, rivers, streams, waterfalls) has the greatest importance in the healing landscape concept. It is predicted that the COVID-19 pandemic should be perceived as a milestone in the reorientation of geography and ecology towards understanding human society in a continuous transformation.

COMMON VALUES OF THE MILITARY ORGANIZATION AND OF THE FIELD OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION AND SPORT

The military organization, due to its fundamental role in defending and maintaining the sovereignty and security of any state in the world, has undergone a natural evolutionary process. In this process man plays the main role. Thus, the continuous transformation to which the military organization was and is still subjected to, being permanently conditioned by the constantly changing threats and challenges, was achieved simultaneously with human evolution, under the impact of all discoveries and technologies developed and implemented by it. In this article, we will analyze two important areas of human activity, military organization and sports, focusing on finding common values for the two areas and generating relevant answers to the question: Is a sports team equivalent to a military structure? COVID-19 Pandemic –Milestone in Rediscovering the Rural Life

This study investigates the positive aspects of the impact COVID-19 pandemic has had on rural development, providing several examples from the post-Soviet space. It is predicted that the intensification of dacha recreation phenomenon, which has been significantly influenced by the pandemic, will spatially extend beyond the periurban areas of the largest cities and will create the preconditions for the restoration of abandoned villages, development of rural tourism and preservation of “archaic” living techniques and traditional lifestyle. In an interdisciplinary context, we learn about the increased tendency of city dwellers to own second homes (dacha) in the countryside. Attention is drawn to the relationship between the COVID-19 pandemic and a decrease in solar activity, along with the decrease in the disinfection capacity of solar UV radiation. The curative proprieties of landscapes are investigated, methods of their valorisation are proposed, and landscape therapy is proposed to be considered during pandemics, some of the most effective activities being open-air walks, with inhalation of negative oxygen ions, phytoncides, terpenes. The growth of uncertainties due to unlimited and uncontrolled human society development is postulated. It is proved that development must consider the unpredicted effects of a catastrophe and use this knowledge to prevent other more devastating events and effects. In this context, the preservation of the primary, although outdated, living techniques is proposed, since they can act as important survival factors in critical mode. It is concluded that COVID-19 pandemic should be perceived as a milestone in the reorientation of geography and ecology towards understanding and advocating for nature preservation to be able to sustain human society in a continuous transformation.

The Story of Moses and Pharaoh in a Structural Anthropology Approach

This study examined the story of Moses and Pharaoh as one of the Islamic narrative discourses in the Qur’an. Structural anthropology Claude Lévi-Strauss was used to analyze the story’s structure or nature of the mind. The results of the study explicate that the story of Moses and Pharaoh had a structure of “struggle plot to convey the truth”. Based on the episodes of the story showed a continuous transformation of structure and forms cylindrical triangle. Behind the story of Moses and Pharaoh was reflection of the developing culture in Islamic societies. First, there were some societies’ components in the struggle process of the faithful in conveying the truth, both theologically or socio-politically. Such as the actor of social change (Moses), masses of people (the people of Moses), authorities who refused the change (Pharaoh and his leaders) and opportunist intellectuals (the magicians before being defeated by Moses), and organic intellectuals (the magicians after believing in the truth of Moses). Second, the community’s culture was controlled by established authorities, the commitment of the truth will gain a refusal and despite resistance. The prerequisite to be able to undergo it was to confirm it rationally and empirically (according to the times).
