Archimedes’ principle can be a complicated idea to grasp for students. To help with the process, we offer a simple 3D printed tool which can be used for teaching Archimedes’ principle. A detailed description of the tool is given, as well as basic measurements showing its capabilities and the results to expect by using it. Also, a list of activities is given which shows how Archie can be used in a high school environment. The activities are focused on students discovering Archimedes’ principle on their own, while paralleling some of the original statements made by Archimedes about floating objects. A few activities are also offered focused on strengthening and verifying students’ gained understanding of the principle using Archie. Archie is a simple 3D-printed tool which can help students achieve a better understanding of Archimedes’ principle and how objects behave in liquids.

The reduction of out-migration and supporting new job creation are important goals for regional and rural development policies among post-communist EU member states, including Slovakia. Hence, policy makers and educators are interested in studies targeting factors that influence entrepreneurial intentions (EI) and activity in rural areas. This study reveals (i) some of the factors influencing EI among final-year students in a high school environment and (ii) the possible implementation of our results in educational policy. Data were collected in high schools located in three rural Slovakian regions: Banská Bystrica, Prešov, and Žilina. The main findings are that former policy discouraging entrepreneurship left a post-communist generation almost without an entrepreneurial background, and this was reflected in the lack of importance given to creativity and living in an entrepreneurial environment in relation to the EI of Slovakian youth. This could be caused by necessity-driven EI whereby financial motives for self-employment dominate individual interests and preferences. On the other hand, leadership and proactive personality as career anchors, and perceived support from family and friends, are prominent factors explaining EI among these young people. These factors, together with supporting and building a desire for autonomy and creativity, should be developed principally within entrepreneurship education for pupils at high schools in the Slovakian regions investigated.

This research originated from concerns about the opportunity to cheat if the test was conducted on computer media and smartphones (Android). This study aimed at determining the process of implementing computer-based and Android-based National Examination (USBN), constraints that may be faced, whether or not there are opportunities for examinees to cheat, effective or not, and whether or not USBN-based and computer-based USBN is efficient. In this study, researchers used descriptive research methods by collecting data on interviews, documents, and library sources as primary data sources and secondary data. The implementation of USBN CBT (National Standard School Exams Based Test) is an alternative in minimizing paper use. USBN CBT is more effective and efficient than USBN PBT (Paper Based Test). The results of the study found that: the process and technical implementation of computer-based and android-based USBN in 9 high schools throughout the Banyuasin District of South Sumatra Province differed from one another, 2) There were no severe constraints, 3) There was no opportunity for exam participants to cheat, 4) Very effective because it is easier to practice, 5) Very efficient because it can minimize the use of paper and electricity, especially in USBN based on Android. In the following years, it was strongly recommended to implement computer-based and android-based USBN both in the high school environment throughout the Banyuasin District, in South Sumatra and throughout Indonesia in general.

One way to prevent the saturation of learning mathematics and other science concepts for students in the high school environment is to have the teacher's creativity in the learning method. The creativity of the teacher in managing the class and fostering students' interest in learning is very dependent on how the teacher uses learning tools, including in the digital age there are many learning methods by utilizing interactive software that can hone students' knowledge and train students' skills in experimenting. Especially in subjects, mathematics, physics and chemistry. Therefore this service activity aims to train teachers to use PhET Simulation-based interactive software to support mathematics, physics and chemistry learning for teachers at Banda Aceh State 3 Islamic Senior High School. With the stages of training, namely the introduction of Phet Simulation for teachers and students followed by training in its use in the fields of mathematics, physics and chemistry, last followed by demonstrations conducted by teachers for each field of study. Based on the results of the evaluation of the training activities, the results of the survey were carried out in 5 categories of statements that stated that 73 trainees strongly agreed with this training and as many as 32 trainees agreed with this activity. While not agreeing and strongly disagree with this training there is none. It is expected that this training can provide information for teachers and students in the use of learning using PhET Simulation in using media to learn mathematics and other scientific concepts.
Keywords: Workshop, Phet Simulation, Teacher, MAN 3 Banda Aceh

Abstrak

Salah satu cara mensiasati kejenuhan belajar matematika dan konsep sains lainnya bagi siswa dilingkungan sekolah menengah atas adalah dengan memiliki kreativitas guru dalam metode pembelajaran.
