Although the First Amendment does not guarantee student press within public schools, it does help affirm the value of such opportunities to student communities. Private schools do not enjoy such constitutional support, but may have a more powerful tool closer to home: their own school mission statements. This study coded nearly 500 private K-12 school mission statements to determine whether the priorities identified by these programs align with the documented benefits of student journalism and found a strong connection between both.

Bibliometric analysis is a popular method for exploring and analyzing large amounts of scientific data. This article is a bibliometric analysis using Scopus indexed journals on program coordination using VOSviewer application. The purpose of bibliometric analysis in this research is to identify the development of studies related to program coordination. Specifically, this article discusses citation developments, publications trends, authors’ collaboration, trending term titles, trend term author keywords, trend term abstracts, and country statistics with the topic of program coordination 1943-2021. The data was collected from Scopus database using keyword “coordination program.” Furthermore, the author uses VOSviewer software to analyze and visualize the database obtained. The results showed that the results of the citation analysis showed the number of citations per year from 1943-2021 was 4.304 citations. Irvine, M.K is a researcher who has the largest productivity, which is ten publications. In the analysis of the trend term author keywords, it can be seen that there are 676 author keys used in selected articles using a minimum of five events, resulting nine author keywords that have a strong connection. The term “care coordination” is the term most frequently used by the author with 23 entries. Moreover, the country that published the most program coordination articles was the United States with 246 articles.

<abstract><p>The extended conjugate graph associated to a finite group $ G $ is defined as an undirected graph with vertex set $ G $ such that two distinct vertices joined by an edge if they are conjugate. In this article, we show that several properties of finite groups can be expressed in terms of properties of their extended conjugate graphs. In particular, we show that there is a strong connection between a graph-theoretic property, namely regularity, and an algebraic property, namely nilpotency. We then give some sufficient conditions and necessary conditions for the non-central part of an extended conjugate graph to be regular. Finally, we study extended conjugate graphs associated to groups of order $ pq $, $ p^3 $, and $ p^4 $, where $ p $ and $ q $ are distinct primes.</p></abstract>

This article is an ethnographic study on the Bukusu number system and the connections between Indigenous knowledge and patriarchy. It examines the ways patriarchy is embedded in everyday knowledge through a number system that has deep gender hierarchy symbolisms. The findings show strong connection between everyday knowledge and social norms that define the status of men and women. While this article is centered on Bukusu society in Kenya, it is premised on the understanding that patriarchy is a pervasive social problem that goes beyond Indigenous societies as evident in the feminist critiques of contemporary societies. Just as Durkheim traced the genesis of society to the simplest forms of rules associated with totemic beliefs, this article also points to the roots of patriarchy in Indigenous society so as to draw attention to the variety of ways in which patriarchy is manifested. By incorporating feminist critiques of patriarchy, it shows conceptual connections between the blatant manifestation of patriarchy in Indigenous societies and the latent, albeit oppressive, manifestations of patriarchy in modern societies. Overall, the article provides deep conceptual insights into the intersection of knowledge systems and patriarchy.

Over the past few decades, school choice has been a widely debated issue around the globe, following the development of pluralism, liberty, and democracy. In many countries, school choice systems were preceded by residence-based school assignment systems, creating a strong connection between a neighborhood and its schools’ demographic compositions. However, schools often remain highly segregated. School segregation is thus seen as a major problem and is supposedly driven by three main factors: residential segregation, parental school choice, and schools’ selection of pupils. This paper aims to shed light on what research should be focusing on as regards school choice and residential segregation with the following two research questions: What are the links between neighborhood and school choice in the literature? How are neighborhood and school choice connected to school segregation in the literature? Two main findings emerged: (1) the neighborhood-based social networks that parents developed had limited their school choices and (2) neighborhood segregation is one of the most important factors that contributes to school segregation and is related to multi-ethnic and socioeconomic contexts.

This article describes the intersection of Media Archaeology and Visual Music in my artistic practice that repurposes obsolete devices to investigate new connections between light and sound. I revive and hack tools from our analogue past: oscilloscopes, early game consoles, and lasers. I am attracted to their aesthetic difference from the ubiquitous digital projections: fluid beam movement, vibrant light, infinite resolution, absence of frame rate, and line-based image. The premise behind all my work is the synthesis of both image and sound from the same signal. This strong connection envelopes the audience in synchronous audiovisual information that reveals underlying geometric properties of sound. In this text I describe the practice and the aesthetic potentials connected to few analog and digital hybridized systems to generate new sonic and visual experiences.

Idioms in Childhood Memories: (Dis)continuities in Portuguese Translations. My study aims to present a comparative translation analysis of the phraseological units in Romanian and European Portuguese and is based on the two Portuguese translations of Amintiri din copilărie (Recordações de infância) by Ion Creangă. Relying on the concept of equivalence – a key element in translation studies and comparative phraseology, debated and contested to the same extent – I propose an analysis of phraseological units both from an interlinguistic and an intralinguistic perspective, as well as a classification of translation solutions according to the types of equivalence proposed by Corpas Pastor (2001). At the same time, the identification of a certain type of equivalence leads us to an analysis of the translation strategies used. In this way, I note a strong connection between translation strategies and the types of equivalence between the two languages. The similarities and the differences between the translation solutions analyzed in the two Portuguese texts highlight the characteristics of the original text, as well as the translators’ choices. Multiplace functions, which are also called functions of many variables, and their algebras called Menger algebras have been studied in various fields of mathematics. Based on the theory of many-sorted algebras, the primary aim of this paper is to present the ideas of Menger systems and Menger systems of full multiplace functions which are natural generalizations of Menger algebras and Menger algebras of [Formula: see text]-ary operations, respectively. Two specific types of [Formula: see text]-ary operations, which are called idempotent cyclic and weak near-unanimity generated by cyclic and weak near-unanimity terms, are provided. The Menger algebras under consideration have a two-element universe, the elements of which are two specific [Formula: see text]-ary operations. Additionally, we provide necessary and sufficient conditions in which the abstract Menger algebra and the Menger algebras of these two [Formula: see text]-ary operations are isomorphic. An abstract characterization of unitary Menger systems via systems of idempotent cyclic and weak near-unanimity multiplace functions is generally investigated. A strong connection between clone of terms and Menger systems of full multiplace functions is also investigated.

Abstract Objective The aim of this in vitro experiment was to see how the operator's manual skills, polishing equipment, and abrasive materials affected the surface roughness of denture base resins. Materials and Methods Forty polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) specimens were created and polished by using two different polishing systems, namely hand and automatic polishing machines. Three operators hand-polished 30 of specimens with eggshell powder and pumice, while 10 were automatically polished (n = 5). A profilometer was used to determine the average surface roughness (Ra) after polishing. The Ra values for the specimens hand-polished were analyzed by using paired sample testing. The Ra values for all polished specimens were analyzed by using a one-way ANOVA. Differences between the two abrasive materials as well as the polishing system were determined by using the Bonferonni tests (p = 0.05). Results and Conclusion For the PMMA specimens hand-polished, there was a strong connection in the Ra values. There were also significant variations in the Ra values across the three operators (p < 0.001). The automated technique created a substantially smoother surface than the traditional technique (p = 0.001). The greatest Ra values (0.20 µm) were found in specimens polished traditionally by using pumice, whereas the lowest Ra values (0.04 µm) were found in specimens polished mechanically with eggshell powder. The automated polishing system was the most effective polishing method when the Ra values were connected to the level of smoothness.

Abstract Objective. Previous studies have demonstrated that ultrasound thalamic stimulation (UTS) can treat disorders of consciousness. However, it is still unclear how UTS modulates neural activity in the thalamus and cortex. Approach. In this study, we performed UTS in mice and recorded the neural activities including spike and local field potential (LFP) of the thalamus and motor cortex. We analyzed the firing rate of spikes and the power spectrum of LFPs and evaluated the coupling relationship between LFPs from the thalamus and motor cortex with Granger causality. Main results. Our results clearly indicate that UTS can directly induce neural activity in the thalamus and indirectly induce neural activity in the motor cortex. We also found that there is a strong connection relationship of neural activity between thalamus and motor cortex under UTS. Significance. These results demonstrate that UTS can modulate the neural activity of the thalamus and motor cortex in mice. It has the potential to provide guidance for the ultrasound treatment of thalamus-related diseases.
