Unlike outdoor trajectory prediction that has been studied many years, predicting the movement of a large number of users in indoor space like shopping mall has just been a hot and challenging issue due to the ubiquitous emerging of mobile devices and free Wi-Fi services in shopping centers in recent years. Aimed at solving the indoor trajectory prediction problem, in this paper, a hybrid method based on Hidden Markov approach is proposed. The proposed approach clusters Wi-Fi access points according to their similarities first; then, a frequent subtrajectory based HMM which captures the moving patterns of users has been investigated. In addition, we assume that a customer’s visiting history has certain patterns; thus, we integrate trajectory prediction with shop category prediction into a unified framework which further improves the predicting ability. Comprehensive performance evaluation using a large-scale real dataset collected between September 2012 and October 2013 from over 120,000 anonymized, opt-in consumers in a large shopping center in Sydney was conducted; the experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms the traditional HMM and perform well enough to be usable in practice.

The author analyzed the pattern of presenting descriptions in the novel "Surat Kecil untukTuhan" by Agnes Davonar. The purpose of this study is to describe the pattern of presentation of static descriptions, patterns of presentation of moving descriptions, patterns of presentation of outline descriptions, and describing the results of studies on the pattern of presentation of descriptions in the novel "Surat Kecil untuk Tuhan" by Agnes Davonar can be used as a teaching  material  Indonesian  for  class  XII  learners  based  on  the  2013 Curriculum. The research method use is descriptive qualitative method. Therefore, the data obtained in this study are not in the form of numbers, but in the form of descriptions or narratives. The results showed that in the novel "Surat Kecil untuk Tuhan" by Agnes Davonar, there were 9 patterns of description presentation including, 5 static patterns, 3 moving patterns, and 1 skeleton pattern. The results also showed that based on the results of the analysis of the suitability of study materials with the demands of the curriculum, the novel “Surat Kecil untuk Tuhan” can the results of the study have been validated by experts and declared worthy of use as teaching materials.

AbstractThe ability to characterize muscle activities or skilled movements controlled by signals from neurons in the motor cortex of the brain has many useful implications, ranging from biomedical perspectives to brain–computer interfaces. This paper presents the method of recurrence eigenvalues for differentiating moving patterns in non-mammalian and human models. The non-mammalian models of Caenorhabditis elegans have been studied for gaining insights into behavioral genetics and discovery of human disease genes. Systematic probing of the movement of these worms is known to be useful for these purposes. Study of dynamics of normal and mutant worms is important in behavioral genetic and neuroscience. However, methods for quantifying complexity of worm movement using time series are still not well explored. Neurodegenerative diseases adversely affect gait and mobility. There is a need to accurately quantify gait dynamics of these diseases and differentiate them from the healthy control to better understand their pathophysiology that may lead to more effective therapeutic interventions. This paper attempts to explore the potential application of the method for determining the largest eigenvalues of convolutional fuzzy recurrence plots of time series for measuring the complexity of moving patterns of Caenorhabditis elegans and neurodegenerative disease subjects. Results obtained from analyses demonstrate that the largest recurrence eigenvalues can differentiate phenotypes of behavioral dynamics between wild type and mutant strains of Caenorhabditis elegans; and walking patterns among healthy control subjects and patients with Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

At the end of 2019, the COVID-19 pandemic began to emerge on a global scale, including China, and left deep traces on all societies. The spread of this virus shows remarkable temporal and spatial characteristics. Therefore, analyzing and visualizing the characteristics of the COVID-19 pandemic are relevant to the current pressing need and have realistic significance. In this article, we constructed a new model based on time-geography to analyze the movement pattern of COVID-19 in Hebei Province. The results show that as time changed COVID-19 presented an obvious dynamic distribution in space. It gradually migrated from the southwest region of Hebei Province to the northeast region. The factors affecting the moving patterns may be the migration and flow of population between and within the province, the economic development level and the development of road traffic of each city. It can be divided into three stages in terms of time. The first stage is the gradual spread of the epidemic, the second is the full spread of the epidemic, and the third is the time and again of the epidemic. Finally, we can verify the accuracy of the model through the standard deviation ellipse and location entropy.

An electro-tactile display can be used to stimulate sensations in the skin.
