In this study, the White Layer Pure Line that housing as individual cage system at the Poultry Research Institute in Ankara was used. Eggs obtained from 24, 28, 32, 36 and 40 weeks old eggs were collected 3 times a day in the morning (10:00), noon (12:00) and evening (15:00). Egg Size and Egg Width (YBE), Shape Index and Elongation (SIE), Egg Surface Area and Volume (YAH), Shell Weight and Shell Thickness (CAS), Number of Pores and Pore Density (GSY), Yellow Ratio and Yellow Weight (SOA), Albumen Weight and Albumen Ratio (AO) were examined in 438 eggs obtained from these chickens found in these cages which are three tiers as upper, middle and bottom. The difference in cage layer did not have a significant effect on the calculated properties. On the other hand, the effect of on all traits obtained from these calculations based on egg weight was found to be significant.

The study aimed to know the effect of adding tartaric and salicylic acids alone and a mixture of water and diet on the egg quality characteristics of aged laying hens for brown Lohmann. 210 laying hens 60 weeks old were used The duration of the experiment, which lasted 112 days(16 weeks), was divided into four equal periods at a rate of 28 days for each period,, distributed in equal numbers to 21 ground hens, 10 laying hens for each hen, and distributed to seven treatments with three replications of the treatment, T1 was fed a standard diet without adding (control), T2 was fed a standard diet supplemented with 0.2% tartaric acid with water, T3 was fed a standard diet supplemented with 0.2% salicylic acid with water, T4 was fed a standard diet supplemented with 0.4% tartaric acid and salicylic acid was added with water, T5 was fed a standard diet supplemented with % 0.2 tartaric acid in the diet, T6 was fed a standard diet supplemented with 0.2% salicylic acid in the diet, T7 was fed a standard diet supplemented with 0.4% a mixture of tartaric and salicylic acid in the diet. The results of adding the two acids in the water and feed showed that there was a significant improvement (P≤0.01) in the quality characteristics of the eggs produced, as it significantly improved the shell weight, shell thickness, albumin height, albumin weight, Haugh unit, rate of yolk height, yolk weight, and the yolk diameter was significantly reduced for the coefficients of The addition compared with the control treatment.

Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) has been recognized for its beneficial influence on physiological alterations. The development (body weight) and economic characteristics (cocoon weight, cocoon shell ratio, and cocoon shell weight) of silkworms were increased after continuous 7.5 µM H2S treatment. In the present study, gene expression changes in the fat body of silkworms at the 5th instar larvae in response to the H2S were investigated through comparative transcriptome analysis. Moreover, the expression pattern of significant differentially expressed genes (DEGs) at the 5th instar larvae was confirmed by quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR) after H2S exposure. A total of 1200 (DEGs) was identified, of which 977 DEGs were up-regulated and 223 DEGs were down-regulated. Most of the DEGs were involved in the transport pathway, cellular community, carbohydrate metabolism, and immune-associated signal transduction. The up regulated genes under H2S exposure were involved in endocytosis, glycolysis/gluconeogenesis, the citrate cycle (TCA cycle), and the synthesis of fibroin, while genes related to inflammation were down-regulated, indicating that H2S could promote energy metabolism, the transport pathway, silk synthesis, and inhibit inflammation in the silkworm. In addition, the expression levels of these genes were increased or decreased in a time-dependent manner during the 5th instar larvae. These results provided insight into the effects of H2S on silkworms at the transcriptional level and a substantial foundation for understanding H2S function.

A total of 200 Guinea fowl (Numidae meleagris) eggs were obtained from guinea fowl flock at the age of 42 weeks of age, which are breeding at an altitude of 1240 m in the Wild Animals Breeding Station affiliated to Ministry of Forest and Water Affairs in Yozgat/Turkey. Eggs were taken at a resolution of 72 pixels per inch and 5184 × 3456 pixels in size, with the individual egg weights. Average Projection area (16,07 cm2), Perimeter (15,82 cm), Circularity (0,81), Height (5,17 cm), Width (4,04 cm), Mean grey value (82,82), Semi axis (2,02 cm), First long half height (2,96 cm), Second short half height (2,20 cm) values were determined by numerical image analysis. Mean Elongation (1,28), Shape Index (78,27) were calculated over the obtained data. Surface area (55,43 cm2), Height (5,16 cm), Width (3,77 cm), Elongation (1,37), Shape Index (73,01), Volume (40,14 cm3), Surface / Volume ratio (1,38), Shell weight (3,17 g), Shell thickness (0,28 mm), pore numbers (6666,25; 5132,39; 5011,12), pore density (120,32; 92,56; 90,31), Yellow ratio (14,85), Yellow Weight (5,95 g), Albumen Weight (30,75), Albumen ratio (77,21) parameters have been calculated using individual egg weights. Eggs were divided into 3 groups as 90 in terms of gray value, eggs 79 in terms of shape index, and 43 in terms of weight. The effects on the properties were investigated. As a result, it is thought that the data obtained can be used in scientific studies.

One hundred and twenty eight Isa-Brown pullet chicks were used for this study to determine the internal qualities of egg(s) from birds fed diets containing Vernoniaamygdalina leaf meals at different growing phases. The leaves used were air-dried, crushed and milled, and was then incorporated into the experimental treatments (T2, T3, and T4) at 2% inclusion each. The birds were randomly allotted into four dietary treatments (T1, T2, T3 and T4) and each treatment was replicated four times with each replicate having 8 birds from the chick phase to the growing phase, thereafter 6 birds per replicate were randomly picked at the laying phase (point of cage), with T1 serving as the control treatment throughout the experimental period of 39weeks. The parameters measured include egg weight, shell weight, shell thickness, shell height, yolk weight, yolk height, yolk width, albumin length, albumin height, albumin weight, while yolk index and Haugh unit were calculated. The result of the experiment showed that T3 with 2% inclusion of Vernoniaamygdalinafrom the growing phase had the best shell thickness, yolk color and acceptable value for Haugh unit. Other parameters measured showed that yolk weight, and Haugh unit were significant at (p<0.05) with 2% inclusion of Vernoniaamygdalina. Every other parameter measured showed no significant difference across the treatments at (p>0.05). The result showed that 2% inclusion of Vernoniaamygdalinaleaf meal at the growing phase of the experiment improved the internal qualities of eggs.

The aim of this work is to evaluate the performance of the extraction and mechanical filtering of Jatropha curcas oil and to evaluate the primary energy of the raw material resulting from the process, this is a qualitative-quantitative study of transversal order based on measurements and analysis of the process in situ: The following factors were evaluated as factors: weight of oil per seed processed, weight of pressed cake, and measurements in the filtering process, from which a balance of matter of the process used was constructed, and the energy valuation of the oil and pressed cake, energy was used as the response variable, measured in Tons of Oil Equivalent (TEP), Barrels of Oil Equivalent (BEP), and tons of Carbon Dioxide Equivalent (Ton CO2eq). The seed used is Creole, the one existing in the area, the extraction was carried out in a KEK-P0101 press, and a KEK-F0090 filter. The collected seeds were dried and then discarded, the average shell weight is 40% of the total weight of the dry seed, from the oil extraction process a yield of 18.6% was obtained using seed with 5.8% humidity, and from the oil filtering process, when it passed through the filter, no weight loss in kg was obtained; finally, the equivalent primary energy valuation of one ton of oil is 39076. 39 MJTon-1, which is equivalent to 0.94 TEP, 2.90 Ton CO2 eq, and 20.87 BEP; in the same way one ton of Jatropha cake represents 15969.30 MJ, equivalent to 0.38 TEP, 1.18 Ton CO2 eq, and 8. 53 BEP, and the total primary energy between one ton of oil and one ton of Jatropha cake after oil extraction together contain 55045.61 MJTon-1, equivalent to 1.32 TEP, 4.08 Ton CO2 eq, and 29.41 BEP.

Writing this scientific paper aims to determine the economic value of the potential waste of crab shells produced by PT. Toba Surimi Industry in Tanjungpinang City, Riau Islands Province. The company has not utilized crab shell waste. In contrast, crab shell waste can provide economic value that provides a lot of additional value. Crab shell waste can be processed into chitosan, which has many functions in various sectors, both in the fisheries, automotive and health industries, and other sectors. Chitosan is produced from the chitin substance contained in crab shells through deproteination, demineralization, and deacetylation. The economic value that can generate from the utilization of crab shell waste PT. Toba Surimi Industry when processed into chitosan with a crab shell weight of 270 kg/day, which is Rp. 40.500.000/day.

Abstract Background: The silk yield is the most economically important trait in sericulture. In the domestication of the silkworm, traits related to silk yield are the main selective targets. In previous studies, linkage and association analyses were performed, which narrowed the region of the locus controlling the cocoon shell weight (CSW), an important index of silk yield, to the interval of 0–134 kb on the 1st chromosome. Results In this study, selection pressure analysis showed that most of the loci in this interval were co-selected during silkworm domestication. Association analysis conducted with 95 strains found that there is a 110 kb region that was significantly associated with CSW. An expression profile correlation analysis of eight genes in the region showed that their expression patterns were very similar. Sequence variation analysis detected mutations in the exon regions of BMgn002066 and BMgn002073, leading to premature termination of translation. The sequence variation was significantly correlated with CSW. In addition, another two genes, BMgn002067 and BMgn002071, had significantly different expression levels in the posterior silk glands of 11 high-yield strains and 11 low-yield strains. Therefore, we speculate that the abovementioned four genes and the gene BmAbl1 detected in previous studies may co-regulate CSW. Conclusions This study is the first to identify the gene clusters that affect CSW by forward genetics, thereby providing new evidence for gene clusters that regulate quantitative traits.

Abstract Hybrid silkworm varieties, mulberry species, environmental factors, and rearing factors are essential for the cocoons’ quality. The species of silkworm feeding is a key factor in the sericulture industry, so the suitability of mulberry species for each silkworm hybrid species needs to be known. This study aimed to determine the effect of mulberry species on silkworm growth and quality of cocoons BS 09. The research method used was a randomized block design with four species of mulberry: Morus bombycis var Lembang, M. cathayana, M. multicaulis, and M. alba var Kanva 2 and one control species (mixed mulberry species). The research was carried out at Dramaga Research Forest, Bogor Regency. The determined parameters were the percentage of rearing, larva weight, cocoon weight, cocoon shell weight, and percentage of cocoon shell. The experiment results showed that the percentage of rearing was 97.5%-100% for all species of mulberry. The best result of the cocoon weight was feed treatment of M. multicaulis (1.89 g), but it was not significant with feed treatment of M. bombycis var Lembang or M. cathayana or M. alba var Kanva 2. M. cathayana feed treatments give the best results for the cocoon shell weight (0.44 gram) and percentage of cocoon shell (22.82%).

Abstract This work is done in rental house at Shaqlawa/Erbil city and It has been adapted to be a typical miniature field for experiment. (two month rearing ),for native layer at age (35week). Aimed of this experiment to investigate the effect of dietary 5% individual powder of black seeds, garlic and grinding of lettuce leaves on performance and egg quality traits of layer Hens. Atotal number of 64 layer distributed for four treatments, each of treatment included 16 hen and 4 cock, The treatments were as follows : T1 (control) without any addition, T2: 5% black cumin seeds powder, T3: 5% garlic powder, T4 : 5% lettuce leaves grinding. Result observed that T4 impact to improve the egg performance and color yolk egg, best value pointed in T1 for eggs phenotype characterized further for Albumin, yolk length/cm and significant (P≤0.05) with other treatments. Results also shown in T3 were the best value for egg shell strength (Kg/cm2). T2 observed better value for thickness, egg shell weight/g and percentage of egg shell. T3 obtained best value for yolk height and yolk Albumin index egg and H.U, followed by T2.
