To assist Chinese high school students in improving their career readiness and tackling career decision-making difficulties, we designed a synchronous online career intervention based on the Cognitive Information Processing (CIP) theory during the Covid-19 pandemic. The online career intervention consisted of a series of career courses to develop high school students’ knowledge and skills in career planning, career assessments for exploring their vocational interests and academic self-concept, and a database providing basic information about university majors. To evaluate the intervention’s effectiveness, 957 10th grade students were recruited in the study, 601 participants (girls = 227, boys = 324) were randomly assigned to the experimental group (online career intervention), and 356 (girls = 159, boys = 197) participants were randomly assigned to the control group (no any career interventions). All participants completed a pre- and post-intervention assessment of their career maturity, vocational identity and career decision-making difficulties. Results indicated that the online intervention significantly increased high school students’ career readiness and reduced their career decision-making difficulties. The practical implications of this research for online career interventions directed at Chinese high school students are also discussed.

In today's society, mankind is at a turning point in the context of the fourth industrial revolution and changes in new technologies and production models, which is raising a higher requirement for future labour. In this article, we look at the economic facets of basic education in China, since the mindset of young people is vital to developing a prosperous and better future civilization for mankind. The main topic of our paper is to analyze the economic literary level of the average high school students to assume how they can react and make a contribution to the coming fourth industrial revolution and the future civilization. The research relies on the materials of Chinese high school students’ actual textbooks related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Economics, and the book The Future of Humanity: Global Civilization and China's Rejuvenation by Professor Jin Zhouying. During the process of research, we found that, on the one hand, basic economics knowledge during the middle school period is helpful to students' daily life. On the other hand, some of the economics knowledge learned by middle school students cannot catch up with the trends and the texts are scattered in different subject textbooks. Therefore, due to innovative knowledge of youth, the relevant high school economics textbooks should be more keeping up with the times and provide more systematic and professional economic knowledge.

Background: Soft tissue analysis is essential in treatment planning to ensure proportional, balanced, and harmonious soft tissue at the end of treatment. Several factors influence the variations, such as age and gender. Soft tissue profile analysis is usually studied from a lateral view. Purpose: The study aimed to determine whether there were differences in the average values of linear and angular measurement of the soft tissue profiles of the middle and lower third of the face between Chinese males and females high school students using lateral photometry. Methods: The samples were 100 lateral photographs (50 male and 50 female) of Chinese high school students at W.R. Supratman 1 and 2 in Medan. All samples were collected based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria obtained from secondary data. The linear and angular measurements were measured using Software Corel Draw 2019 and analysed statistically using an independent t-test and the Mann-Whitney test. Results: The inferior facial third, length of the lower lip, and prominence of the upper lip were, on average, greater in males, whereas in the prominence of pogonion, nasolabial angles, and nasofrontal angles were greater, on average, for females. Conclusion: There were significant gender differences in Chinese high school students in the inferior facial third, length of the lower lip, prominence of the upper lip, nasolabial angle, and nasofrontal angle, whereas there is no significant difference between genders in the prominence of the pogonion.
