Indonesia is a disaster-prone country but public awareness of disasters is still low. To improve community disaster literacy, schools are the most effective vehicle. Improved disaster mitigation literacy can be achieved by integrating disaster education into subjects taught in school and associating it with the local wisdom owned by the community. This research aimed to determine and learn from the local wisdom of lamban langgakh (stilt houses), develop a disaster mitigation literacy model for subjects in schools, and identify the level of disaster mitigation literacy of junior and senior high school students in the West Coast District (WCR) of Lampung Province. The study was conducted in two stages: identifying and analyzing comprehensive information about lamban langgakh and developing an indirect teaching model as a students’ disaster mitigation literacy model through the ADDIE development model. This research produced a new model to improve students’ disaster mitigation literacy by integrating it with school subjects and local wisdom owned by local communities.

Geologically, Indonesia is located at the confluence of three of the world's main plates, namely the Indo-Australian Plate, the Eurasian Plate, and the Pacific Plate, which often cause disasters, for example drought. Central Lombok Regency is one of the regencies in West Nusa Tenggara, with these two seasons, most often hit by drought disasters, considering that the rainfall in Central Lombok is very small. So that disaster education and preparedness are needed for residents. This article uses qualitative research methods. The results of the study show that climate field schools have an important role in disaster education. Climate field school is a form of education for farmers that is very useful especially in understanding the weather and climate combined with new agricultural techniques that will allow farmers to plant different crops at different times of the year. Meanwhile, for preparedness, it is carried out through several programs in the form of urging and asking farmers to be disciplined in carrying out cropping patterns according to the zoning in which they are located (rice-padi-palawija or padi-palawija-palawija), mapping of land related to cropping patterns, planting rice parity that requires little water, namely the Situpagendit variety, and urges farmers to insure their rice plants, which is Rp. 36.000/ Ha for one planting season at PT. JASINDI.   Keywords: Indonesia's geological location, disaster, disaster education.

Abstract In vulnerable disaster-geographical condition in ring of fire, schools in Indonesia have conducted innovation of disaster mitigation education recent years. A disaster mitigation model in Indonesia is the use of local wisdom. Local wisdom-based disaster education aims as grand design during learning process and it supports the formation of student resilience. Therefore, to revive the value of local wisdom, it needs reinterpretation through adaptation of local knowledge and revitalization of contemporary conditions as innovations in disaster risk reduction. Through the integration of local wisdom based on disaster mitigation curriculum in the learning process, it is expected to be able to take fast, precise and accurate steps in dealing with disasters that occur in every region in Indonesia.

Abstract What is a natural disaster? How much do we know about it? Modern technology undoubtedly helped people learn about natural phenomena that sometimes can be misdirected into disaster. Natural disasters can cause quite an enormous impact, such as property damage and the number of injured or dead victims. Disaster education that applied science, technology, engineering, and mathematics could be a potential strategy to prepare the local community in managing the risk of natural disasters. This study is part of literature research on the integration of STEM in disaster education focused on disaster learning media to increase students’ awareness of disaster prevention, impacts, and mitigation. This study aims to identify national and international journals related to STEM, disasters, and learning media; and evaluate the effectiveness of implementing STEM integrated learning media. In 2011-2021 there are 305 publications and 15 articles reviewed in this study. The results indicate that STEM-based disaster learning media can develop students’ ability to solve problems related to disaster mitigation and disaster knowledge. The development of learning media to teach disaster education need to be reviewed and adapted to the geographical conditions of Indonesia, several topics about disaster as recommendation for learning is disaster that often afflict Indonesia.

The interdisciplinary aspect of natural disasters requires their correlation with more than one discipline and orientation for understanding and teaching the inevitable nature of disasters. This study aimed to design a teacher training program called the Interdisciplinary Disaster Education Program (IDEP) and reveal its effect on improving teachers' natural disaster literacy. Furthermore, teachers' opinions about program were examined. The mixed-method design was used in the study. The study participants consisted of 36 teachers (science, classroom, and social studies teachers) working on different subjects. Data were obtained using the Natural Disaster Literacy Scale and the survey for the IDEP. The data collected from the scale were analyzed using two-way mixed ANOVA. The qualitative data collected from the survey were subjected to content analysis. The results indicated that the IDEP statistically improved teachers' natural disaster literacy. Moreover, the survey results highlighted that different instructional activities (experiments, modeling, workshops, rock/soil analysis, coding, augmented reality, and STEM applications, etc.) related to natural disasters contributed to a lot of professional and personal knowledge of teachers, particularly disaster management. Keywords: disaster literacy, interdisciplinary education, mixed method, natural disaster, teacher training program

Kata Kunci: desain partisipatif, media edukasi, mitigasi bencana AbstractThe Citarum River area in West Java has typical hydrometeorological disaster characteristics related to water quality. Education on disaster preparation and knowledge are essential, linked to the disaster management cycle, as part of the pre-disaster stage. Different cultural groups have different beliefs about the concepts of dealing with disaster, so they often respond to a catastrophic phenomenon in ways that modern society does not expect. The participatory design approach was used to implement disaster education with local values in the Sundanese community, especially in Bojongsoang Regency. The involvement of participants from the protagonist group allows messages to be developed, produced, and distributed by the community. The development of media posters, animations, digital posters based on social media and books have different characteristics that can also find strategic recommendations on media and design methods that are site-specific for hydrometeorological disaster education campaigns. The concept was born from the research is then used as a recommendation to carry out the next design process related to design methods and approaches, visual design, and media strategies to convey the message to the target audience. The protagonist group is also involved in the distribution of information to the community in the area. Participants’ knowledge and experience in their living space, enrich the design, communication products, and educational content in the social campaign.
