The topic of the paper is the application of dual approach in formulation and resolution of goods distribution tasks problems. The gap in previous goods distribution research is the absence of the methodologies and goods transportation calculation methods for manufacturing companies with not too large amount of goods distribution whereby goods distribution is not the core activity. The goal of this paper is to find a solution for transportation in such companies. In such cases it is not rational to procure a specific software for the improvement of goods transportation but rather apply the calculation presented in this paper. The aim of this paper from mathematical aspect is to show the convenience of switching from the basic geometric interpretation of linear programming applied on transportation tasks to dual approach for the companies with too many costs limitations per transport task but not enough available transportation means. Recent research studies that use dual approach in linear programming are generally not applied to transportation tasks although such approach is very convenient. The goal of the paper is also to resolve transportation tasks by both primal and dual approach in order to prove the correctness of the method.

We consider the finite element approximation of the solution to elliptic partial differential equations such as the ones encountered in (quasi)-static mechanics, in transient mechanics with implicit time integration, or in thermal diffusion. We propose a new nonlinear version of preconditioning, dedicated to nonlinear substructured and condensed formulations with dual approach, i.e., nonlinear analogues to the Finite Element Tearing and Interconnecting (FETI) solver. By increasing the importance of local nonlinear operations, this new technique reduces communications between processors throughout the parallel solving process. Moreover, the tangent systems produced at each step still have the exact shape of classically preconditioned linear FETI problems, which makes the tractability of the implementation barely modified. The efficiency of this new preconditioner is illustrated on two academic test cases, namely a water diffusion problem and a nonlinear thermal behavior.

Against the background of globalization and the deepening struggle for international markets, competitiveness is among the most important indicators describing the performance of an enterprise. The purpose of this study is to create a methodology for assessing the level of competitiveness of enterprises. The proposed methodology is based on a dual model integrating the parametric and nonparametric methods for assessing the effect of using the financial mechanisms of competitiveness management. This study relies on regression and factor analysis. The focus is on the competitiveness level of 12 agricultural enterprises operating in Russia. Among the studied enterprises, the most competitive one is the enterprise that makes the best use of available resources when moving toward the desired amount of income (profit) and minimum costs. The proposed approach allows not only to assess the true level of competitiveness of an enterprise but also to identify reserves it can exploit to improve its competitiveness using financial instruments. At the same time, the stochastic dual approach proved to be a better choice in developing a competitiveness strategy.

ABSTRACT Objectives: To evaluate and compare the clinical evolution of surgical approaches used in patients with severe cervical myelopathy. Methods: Retrospective observational study in which 19 patients with myelopathy who underwent surgery were evaluated. Neurological assessments using the Frankel scale were conducted both preoperatively and one year following surgery, and the modified Japanese Orthopedic Association (JOA), Nurick, and Visual Analog Scale for pain (VAS) questionnaires were applied 1 year after the surgical procedure. Results: 89% of the participants were male and the average age was 63.9 years. No patient had postoperative neurological worsening, 12 patients (63.16%) had mild pain, and seven (36.84%) had moderate pain. The group with degenerative disease showed neurological improvement after surgery and the exclusively anterior approach was used in 84% of the cases, the exclusively posterior approach in 10% of the cases, and the dual approach in 6% of the cases. Conclusion: Surgical treatment has good results for inhibiting the unfavorable natural evolution of myelopathy within 1 year following surgery and promotes neurological improvement in degenerative cases, making it possible to use the anterior access route in most cases. Level of evidence III; Retrospective Study.

Abstract This paper considers an approach that demonstrates the features of creating complex electrodynamic systems. In practice, the creation of such objects is associated with a decrease in the levels of electromagnetic radiation, control of the direction of propagation of electromagnetic waves. The main properties of the generated automated system for assessing the quality of the electrodynamic characteristics of objects are considered. Suggestions are given on its structural diagram, the contours of the operation control and control of the restructuring of electrodynamic objects are shown. The created system for assessing the quality of electrodynamic characteristics can be useful in the design of a wide class of technical systems.
