Abstract The Gravity Method based on TOPEX satellite data is a one of geophysical method which from satellite observations. The gravity method investigate the gravitational field from one to another observation point. The principle of this method has the ability to distinguish the mass material density from its environment, so that the subsurface structure can be identified. In this research, gravity method is used to identify subsurface structures that are suspected of Probolinggo Fault and identify the rock lithology. From TOPEX we get free air anomaly and then applied the correction process to obtain Complete Bouguer Anomaly (CBA) value. The CBA value is processed interpolation to create CBA map, and then the map is filtered by butterworth to obtain regional and residual maps. The value of high gravity acceleration is 0.076 - 19.74 mGal indicating compact rocks. Meanwhile, based on the residual anomaly map, the value of smaller gravity acceleration is -0.92 - 0.9 mGal indicates lower compacting rocks with smaller mass. The gravity acceleration contrast on the residual anomaly, on the north side of fault line (0.12 mGal to 0.45 mGal) and on the south side (-0.92 mGal to -0.043 mGal), is interpreted as normal fault. Furthermore, 3D modelling shows density value less than 2 gr/cm3 we can interpret as pyroclastic fall, in between 2 gr/cm3 until 2.4 gr/cm3 is sandstone and more than 2.4 gr/cm3 is igneous rock such as andesit. 2D slicing modelling show presence the shear fault, so we can suspect this area have oblique fault with west-east direction.

Abstract A method for extracting the center of the light stripe to effectively reduce the environmental noise is proposed in this paper. The block matching algorithm is adapted to use the global information in the structured light image to group image blocks with similar light stripe structures. The center coordinates of the light stripe in each group of image blocks are extracted by the gray gravity method, and its average value is used as the final center of light stripes in the similar image block, which reduces the influence of random noise on the accuracy of the extraction algorithm.

One of the alternative energy that exists in Indonesia, including in Aceh is coal energy. In 2016, a fire happened caused of coal in Lam Apeng Village, proven by coal’s landscape formed after the fire. The research purposes to identify the coal existence as one alternative energy in Indonesia using difference Normalized Burn Ratio (dNBR) calculated from Landsat-8 data. The difference between NBR’s which is able to show the only burn location based on its index with high severity level representes the burnt location. Gravity survey validates the results and proves that the low-density zone indicated coal existence has the same pattern as the high severity level. Both of the results give information about lignite dissemination in Lam Apeng Village.

Abstract Vehicle scheduling is one of the most important links in logistics distribution, a large number of demands also lead to logistics companies have to reasonably arrange the transportation of vehicle routes to save costs. By optimizing the distribution routes of vehicles, logistics companies can save transportation mileage and thus save transportation costs. In this paper,10 demand points of an agricultural products logistics company in Beijing are selected, and the location of the distribution center is obtained through the center of gravity method. Finally, the route allocation is completed by using the mileage saving algorithm, and the scheduling of transport vehicles is realized. The example shows that the mileage saving algorithm can optimize the vehicle route and realize route allocation.

Research has been conducted using the gravity method in the Wai Selabung area, South Ogan Kemiring Ulu Regency, South Sumatra Province, correlated with geological data, magnetotellurics, and geochemical data. This research aims to get structural patterns, subsurface models and identify the heat source and reservoir areas of the Wai Selabung geothermal system. This study uses the gravity method to model the subsurface, which is correlated with magnetotelluric and geochemical data to identify reservoir prospect areas. The results obtained from this research include residual anomalies in the research area showing the presence of a northwest-southeast trending fault structure by the main fault structure of this area trending northwest-southeast and slightly southwest-northeast. Analysis of the Second Vertical Derivative value of zero indicates the boundaries of the geothermal reservoir in the middle of the research area.  The results of the 3D inversion modeling of the research area show that low density (2 to 2.15 g/cm3) indicates the location of the reservoir, medium-density values (2.2 to 2.4 g/cm3) are tertiary sandstone sedimentary. The high-density distribution value (2.5 to 2.9 g/cm3) indicates a potential heat source. And based on the analysis of the gravity method correlated with geological data, magnetotelluric, and geochemical data, the prospect area for the Wai Selabung geothermal reservoir, is around Teluk Agung, Perekan, and Talang Tebat.

Abstract Gravity method is one of the geophysical methods that’s using variation of gravity value caused by density variation of subsurface. Gravity method has been utilized for many purposes such as understanding the geological information about one area or understanding the subsurface structure. This study is using gravity method to identify the heat source from the geothermal manifestation (hot spring) which is located in the non-volcanic region in North Java. Gravity data was obtained from WGM 2012 satellite data that can be downloaded at BGI website and processed using Oasis Montaj software. Data processed using horizontal derivative method to enhance the boundaries resolution of the possibility geological structures location in the study area that is predicted to be the way of the heat source of hot spring manifestation. The result of this study shows that the heat source of the hot spring in Northern East Java is probably coming from Lasem Volcano’s heat source. The result can be proven by the similarity of the Bouguer Anomalies value between the Lasem Volcano region and the manifestations distribution area, which varies in 174-185 mGal. Besides that, Lasem Volcano is the closest volcano from the manifestation with a distance of approximately around 27 km.

AbstractWe examine various methods of constructing conserved quantities in the Teleparallel Equivalent of General Relativity (TEGR). We demonstrate that in the covariant formulation the preferred method are the Noether charges that are true invariant quantities. The Noether charges depend on the vector field $$\xi $$ ξ and we consider two different options where $$\xi $$ ξ is chosen as either a Killing vector or a four-velocity of the observer. We discuss the physical meaning of each choice on the example of the Schwarzschild solution in different frames: static, freely falling Lemaitre frame, and a newly obtained generalised freely falling frame with an arbitrary initial velocity. We also demonstrate how to determine an inertial spin connection for various tetrads used in our calculations, and find a certain ambiguity in the “switching-off” gravity method where different tetrads can share the same inertial spin connection.

Petrographic and provenance studies of heavy minerals in Ifelodun sediment were carried out. Sediment samples from eight locations were obtained from the study area; sieved to allow only sand-size lithology. The result was achieved after subjecting this sieved lithology obtained to analyses using a binocular (transmitted and reflected light) microscope. Minerals were separated in a funnel using bromoform with a specific gravity of about 2.89 (gravity method). The heavy minerals present in lithologic sand units are mainly staurolite, tourmaline, zircon and other opaque minerals including cassiterite. The most dominant non-opaque mineral is staurolite with 27.5% of the total minerals counted in the area. Staurolite is very appreciable in locations AR1 with 60% presence (which is 80% of the non-opaque minerals), AR3, AR5, AR7 and OL15b (each with 30%). OL15b also recorded a better amount of tourmaline (20%); Zircon is better in OL6b with 20% of the heavy minerals available in this location. The source rock predicted is porphyroblastic schists.
