Abstract To ensure the coexistence of autonomous personal mobility vehicles (PMVs) and pedestrians in a pedestrian zone, they should be able to smoothly pass across and avoid each other. Studies suggest that it is possible that PMVs and pedestrians can pass each other in a short period of time without compromising their comfort; this can be achieved through understanding how pedestrians react to the behavior of PMVs and by modifying the autonomous navigation of PMVs accordingly. Therefore, in this study, the avoidance behavior characteristics of pedestrians were investigated. Experiments were conducted to understand the influence of the selected avoiding behavior parameters and to understand the behavior characteristics of pedestrians in relation to the behavior of PMVs. Furthermore, a path planning strategy that enables smooth passing was developed based on these characteristics. The usefulness of this method was evaluated. The avoidance time and the avoiding angular velocity at the start and end of the avoidance behavior were the parameters that contributed to smooth autonomous navigation. The results show that pedestrian tolerance improves and the avoidance width decreases depending on these parameters. Furthermore, smooth autonomous navigation can be achieved using the characteristics of pedestrians’ cognition against PMVs.

With the increasing capacity of wind power generators (WTGs), the volatility of wind power could significantly challenge the stability and economy of electric and heating networks. To tackle this challenge, this paper proposes an optimal dispatch framework based on controllable load (including controllable electric load and controllable thermostatically load) to reduce wind power curtailment. A forecasting model is developed for the controllable load, which comprehensively considers autocorrelation, weather factor, and consumers’ behavior characteristics. With adjusting controllable load, an optimal dispatch model of power system is then established and resolved by Sequential Least Squares Programming (SLSQP) method. Our method is verified through numerous simulations. The results show that, compared with the state-of-the-art techniques of support vector machine and recurrent neural networks, the root mean square error with the proposed long short-term memory can be reduced by 0.069 and 0.044, respectively. Compared with conventional method, the peak wind power curtailment with dispatching controllable load is reduced by nearly 10% and 5% in two cases, respectively.

In alkali metal and lanthanide coordination chemistry, triphenylsiloxides seem to be unduly underappreciated ligands. This is as surprising as that such substituents play a crucial role, among others, in stabilizing rare oxidation states of lanthanide ions, taking a part of intramolecular and molecular interactions stabilizing metal-oxygen cores and many others. This paper reports the synthesis and characterization of new lithium [Li4(OSiPh3)4(THF)2] (1), and sodium [Na4(OSiPh3)4] (2) species, which were later used in obtaining novel gadolinium [Gd(OSiPh3)3(THF)3]·THF (3), and erbium [Er(OSiPh3)3(THF)3]·THF (4) triphenylsiloxides. Crystal structures were determined for all 1–4 compounds, and in addition, IR, Raman, absorption spectroscopy studies were conducted for 3 and 4 lanthanide compounds. Furthermore, direct current (dc) variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements on polycrystalline samples of 3 and 4 were carried out in the temperature range 1.8–300 K. The 3 shows behavior characteristics for the paramagnetism of the Gd3+ ion. In contrast, the magnetic properties of 4 are dominated by the crystal field effect on the Er3+ ion, masking the magnetic interaction between magnetic centers of neighboring molecules.

Abstract Due to the heterogeneous characteristics of vehicles and user terminals, information in mixed traffic scenarios can be interacted based on the Web protocol of different terminals. The recommendation system can dig users' travel preferences by analyzing historical travel information of different traffic participants, to publish accurate travel information and services for the terminals of traffic participants. The diversification of existing road network users and networking modes, as well as the dynamic changes of user interest distribution caused by high-speed movement of vehicles, traditional collaborative filtering algorithms have limitations in terms of effectiveness. This paper proposes a novel Hybrid Tag-aware Recommender Model (HTRM). The model embedding layer first employs the Word2vec model to represent the tags and ratings of projects and users, respectively. The feature layer then introduces the auto-encoder to extract self-similar features of the item, and a long short-term memory (LSTM) network is used to extract user behavior characteristics to provide higher-quality recommendations. The gating layer combines the features of users and projects and then makes score recommendations based on the Fully Connected Neural Network (FCNN). Finally, Web data sets of different service preferences of traffic participants during the trip are used to evaluate the model recommendation performance in different scenarios. The experimental results show that the HTRM model is reasonable in design and can achieve high recommendation accuracy.

This study aims to investigate the intervention effect of group sandplay on the interpersonal sensitivity of college students and analyze the relationship between the theme and interactive behavior characteristics and the intervention effect of group sandplay especially during the period of COVID-19. Sixty college students were randomly assigned to the experimental group (group sandplay) or the control group (neutral task interventions). The results showed that the interpersonal sensitivity level of the experimental group was significantly lower than that of the control group. For the experimental group, the variation in the interpersonal sensitivity level was significantly negatively correlated with the change in warm, supportive behavior during group sandplay interaction. These findings suggest that group sandplay is effective in improving the interpersonal sensitivity level of college students, and this effect can be positively predicted by warm and supportive interaction behaviors in group sandplay.

This study has comprehensively analyzed the ventilation system of an indoor coal storage shed using computational fluid dynamics (CFD). In addition, the effects of the plan to improve the ventilation system were investigated by synthesizing the results. First, the velocity of inlet wind entering through the natural ventilation system was measured. Then, the concentration of carbon monoxide inside the coal storage shed was measured at the spontaneous combustion of coal. The boundary conditions were set using the measurement results. The characteristics of carbon monoxide concentration, ventilation volume, and behavior of scattering dust were analyzed. According to the CFD analysis results, the upper recirculation strength increased as the flow rate of external air increased. The flow-stagnation area occurred on the center wall. In particular, the concentration of carbon monoxide was high in the flow-stagnation area. When the inflow velocity was 2.0 m/s, a risk of 30 ppm or more occurred in the area near the second-floor workspace and central retaining wall. When ventilation dropped sharply, coal dust emissions decreased to 14.5%. Thus, ventilation must be secured by installing a natural ventilation system, in case spontaneous ignition occurs in many cells or the ventilation sharply decreases. Finally, in order to improve the ventilation system, the effect on the additional installation of natural ventilation and the use of mobile blowers was analyzed. Finally, in order to improve the ventilation system, the effect on the additional installation of natural ventilation and the use of mobile blowers was analyzed. As a result of the analysis, we concluded that using a mobile blower is more effective than a method of additionally installing a natural ventilation device. Carbon monoxide may be locally diluted, and ventilation volume additionally secured.

PurposeThe COVID-19 pandemic has caused a decline in overall consumption, but luxury sales within offline department stores rose significantly. This study identifies changes in the market environment variable (i.e. pandemics) and their impact on clothing consumption behavior. Moreover, it examines consumer behavior characteristics and provides implications for future fashion marketing and merchandising strategies.Design/methodology/approachThis study analyzed post-pandemic consumption trends by obtaining luxury brand sales data from the Korea National Statistical Office and department stores. Moreover, it investigated luxury consumption fluctuation after the pandemic and statistically analyzed the characteristics of luxury consumers by customer level (CL) that affected sales.FindingsThe results of the study showed that offline (online) clothing consumption at mass markets has decreased (increased) since the pandemic, whereas sales of luxury fashion brands at offline department stores have grown. Moreover, the in-depth analysis showed a significant sales decline (increase) for clothing-centered (leather-centered) luxury brands.Practical implicationsIf such a trend in luxury brand consumption continues, current polarization is expected to be maintained. Therefore, the study’s findings can be used as basic data in strengthening luxury brands and planning products.Originality/valueThis is the first work to undertake a comparative study of fashion consumer behavior, before and after the pandemic, involving the mass and luxury markets in South Korea.
