For a long time, there are a large number of heterogeneous databases on the network, and their heterogeneity is manifested in many aspects. With the development of enterprise informatization and e-government, the system database of each department constitutes a real heterogeneous database framework with its independence and autonomy in the network system of many different functional departments. This paper will design information sharing between heterogeneous databases of network database system of many similar functional departments by using XML data model. The solution of data sharing between heterogeneous databases can accelerate the integration of information systems with departments and businesses as the core among enterprises, form a broader and more efficient organic whole, improve the speed of business processing, broaden business coverage, and strengthen cooperation and exchange among enterprises. In addition, heterogeneous database sharing can avoid the waste of data resources caused by the heterogeneity of database, and promote the availability rate of data resources. Due to the advantages of XML data model, the system has good scalability.

This chapter examines South African SMMEs adoption of e-commerce. The chapter is concerned with four e-commerce adoption options: 1) customer payment by credit card through the SMME's website, 2) customer placing orders through the SMME's website, 3) providing customer services through the SMME's website, and 4) placing orders with suppliers over the internet. By using a sample of 400 conveniently sampled SMME owners, this chapter explores the adoption of the four e-commerce options in two geographic areas within South Africa, Durban and Pietermaritzburg. Specifically, the chapter seeks to establish the extent of the adoption of the four e-commerce options in both locations in relation to the SMMEs' business coverage. Findings revealed that although SMMEs from Durban and Pietermaritzburg have adopted all of the four e-commerce options to various degrees, such adoption is only significant for SMMEs whose business operations extend beyond the local level. Additionally, internet security was identified as a key impediment towards e-commerce adoption in both areas.

Several legal mechanisms regulate and influence domestic business journalism in the United Arab Emirates and encourage it to conform within a Loyalist Press environment. These include Article 81 in Federal Law 15 of 1980 (Concerning Publications and Publishing) directly addressing business coverage, and portions of Federal Law 3 of 1987 (Concerning the Penal Code) that broadly define defamation. Another significant law, Federal Decree-Law 5 of 2012 (On Combating Cybercrimes), established a number of potential limitations on journalistic digital media use and content. Domestic business journalism also contends with a low number of publicly traded firms – hence there is little systematically disclosed financial data – and a region-wide tradition of discretion in business matters.
