The purpose of this study is to explore the role of implementing e-supply chain management (E-SCM) on the competitive position of companies and whether implementing customer relationship management (CRM) can affect the relationship between E-SCM and competitive advantage. To achieve this objective, a quantitative approach was utilized. A total of 300 questionnaires were distributed where 243 questionnaires were returned, with 17 incomplete questionnaires being excluded, leaving 226 usable questionnaires. PLS-SEM software was used to analyze the data. The results of this study demonstrate the imperative role of implementing E-SCM and CRM on creating a competitive advantage for firms. It also shows that CRM mediates the relationship between E-SCM and competitive advantage, suggesting that utilizing different technologies can help firms better communicate with their customers and thus better serve them which in turn will enhance customers’ satisfaction and thus boost the competitive position of the firm.

The systematically strengthening role of emerging economies has become a factor strongly determining the overall trade policy of the European Union (EU) and the United States of America (USA), as well as their bilateral relations. One of the initiatives aiming at the strengthening of economic ties within the transatlantic partnership, as a consequence promoting stabilization of the positions of the EU and the USA in the world economy, was related with negotiations concerning the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership. The EU-USA trade talks were suspended at the end of 2016; however, the establishment of the EU-USA free trade area might be a breakthrough in the transatlantic relations, while the conclusion of this agreement would significantly determine the competitive position of the agri-food sector of these two economies, both in their bilateral relations and in world trade. In view of the above, the aim of this paper is to estimate the competitive position of the EU agri-food sector in transatlantic trade considering the conclusion of the agreement establishing the EU-USA free trade area. For this purpose, Widodo’s method of mapping products on the target market was applied. Results from the conducted analyses suggest that from 2010–2020 comparative advantages gained by the EU on the US market were sources of an advantageous export specialization. In view of the forecasted dynamic increase in agri-food export from the EU to the USA caused by possible liberalization of bilateral trade, the relatively strong competitive position of the EU on the American market might be maintained or even strengthened. However, such a situation would be determined by the regulatory cooperation progressing with the reduction of tariffs.

The structurally balanced resource base of a bank determines its ability to achieve its goals and, as a result, its performance and has a decisive impact on the reproductive process in the economy by converting borrowed funds into investments. Despite a significant reduction in the number of banks over the past 10 years (from 175 to 73), the deposit market is a highly competitive environment. This necessitates the search for approaches to the formation of deposit resources that are adequate to modern conditions, aimed at their stabilization and sufficiency. The objective of the study is to develop a technology for analyzing a bank’s competitive position in the deposit market, which is the basis for choosing a strategy for managing the formation and use of the bank’s deposit resources. The technology of analysis of the bank’s competitive position in the deposit market consists of the following stages: building a system of indicators characterizing the formation and use of bank’s deposit resources, calculation and analysis of integrated taxonomic indicators of the formation and use of a bank’s deposit resources, developing the “formation of a bank’s deposit resources – use of a bank’s deposit resources” matrix, positioning of banks in this matrix, determining the strategies for the formation and use of a bank’s deposit resources, and making appropriate management decisions and their implementation. The proposed technology has been tested on the example of existing banks in Ukraine as of January 1, 2021. Its use allows determining the current competitive position of a bank in the deposit market and choosing a strategy for managing the formation and use of deposit resources from the proposed: preservation, activation, balancing, directed action, intensification, and aggressive strategy.
