Abstract Objective The advancement of molecular techniques in an era in which high-throughput sequencing has revolutionized biology renders old-fashioned alternatives to high-throughput methods obsolete. Such advanced molecular techniques, however, are not yet accessible to economically disadvantaged region-based laboratories that still obtain DNA profiles using gel-based techniques. To explore whether cost-efficient techniques can produce results that are as robust as those obtained using high-throughput methods, we compared the performance of polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE)- and capillary electrophoresis (CE)-derived genomic data in estimating genetic diversity and inferring relatedness using 70 individuals of fine flounder (Paralichthys adspersus) selected from a hatchery population and genotyped for five microsatellite loci. Results Here, we show that PAGE- and CE-derived genomic datasets yield comparable genetic diversity levels regarding allelic diversity measures and heterozygosity. However, relatedness inferred from each dataset showed that the categorization of dyads in the different relationship categories strongly differed. This suggests that while scientists can reliably use PAGE-derived genomic data to estimate genetic diversity, they cannot use the same for parentage testing. The findings could help laboratories committed to population research not be discouraged from using the PAGE system if high-throughput technologies are unavailable and the method is adequate to address the biological question.

Abstract Evaluations of vaccine effectiveness (VE) are important to monitor as COVID-19 vaccines are introduced in the general population. Research staff enrolled symptomatic participants seeking outpatient medical care for COVID-19-like illness or SARS-CoV-2 testing from a multisite network. VE was evaluated using the test-negative design. Among 236 SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid amplification test-positive and 576 test-negative participants aged ≥16 years, VE of mRNA vaccines against COVID-19 was 91% (95% CI: 83-95) for full vaccination and 75% (95% CI: 55-87) for partial vaccination. Vaccination was associated with prevention of most COVID-19 cases among people seeking outpatient medical care.

The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of leadership style (X1) on work ethic (Y1), leadership style (X1) on teacher's performance (Y2), work ethic (Y1) on teacher's performance (Y2) and the Work environment (X2).) On work ethics, (Y1) Work environment (X2) on tutoring (Y2) at PKBM in Tangerang City. The method used is qualitatively descriptive with a population of 165 using a random sampling method, namely 117 samples of the existing population. Research results Statistical test on model 1 with tcount> ttable (3.404> 1.97) and Sig <0.05 (0.000 <0.05), leadership style sometimes has a positive and significant influence on work ethic. Value Fcount> Ftable (14.815> 3.06) and Sig <0.05 (0.000 <0.05), management style and work environment have a positive and significant effect on work ethic at the same time. In model 2, the value of tcount> ttable (5.555> 1.97) and Sig <0.05 (0.000 <0.05) is obtained. The leadership style has a partially positive and significant effect on the tutor's performance. With the value of tcount> ttable (3.447> 1.97) and Sig <0.05 (0.001 <0.05), the working environment has a partially positive and significant effect on the teacher's performance. The value of tcount> ttable (4.261> 1.97) and Sig <0.05 (0.000 <0.05), partly work ethic, has a positive and significant effect on the teacher's performance. The value of Fcount> Ftable (35.927> 2.67) and Sig <0.05 (0.000 <0.05), the leadership style, the work environment and the work ethic all have a positive and significant effect on the tutor's performance.

In the conditions of the Covid-19 pandemic, it had a very large impact not only on the health aspect, but also on the labor and economic aspects. The industrial world has been affected so much that the industrial world has stopped its production activities so that there has been a reduction in the workforce in production by being dismissed and even disconnected from their work. This condition is what makes the government take action, especially in terms of employment in fulfilling the obligation to pay BPJSK output through a relaxation or softness policy in paying contributions. Another policy is the claim service for BPJSK participants if there is a risk that results in the realization of the claim. This research is to analyze with the policy of relaxation of payment of dues and claim services associated with their influence on participant compliance in paying BPJSK dues. The population / research sample was the participants of the BPJSK Gresik Driyorejo Branch, using a questionnaire to obtain data on the perception of relaxation policies, service quality and compliance with payment of dues.Based on the results of data analysis, it shows that: first, the premium payment policy has a significant effect on dues pay compliance, second, the service quality of claims has a significant effect on awareness of premium payments, and third, the policy of relaxation of contributions and the quality of service claims has a significant effect on the premium. payment of dues for BPJSK members at the Gresik Driyorejo Branch.
