Radioactivity in egg was investigated. The targeted radionuclides were the long-lived gamma emitters 228Ra, 226Ra, and 40K. Measurements were carried out using a high purity germanium detector. The calculated annual effective dose due to egg consumption was 79 μSv yr-1, which forms 1/4 of the 290 μSv yr-1 world average ingestion exposure from natural sources. Hence, no radiological hazards exist from egg consumption due to the presence of the investigated radionuclides.

Abstract In the context of globalization of the world market, it is necessary to use the potential of farms to a greater extent for the production of export products. World experience shows their high potential, when the world average indicator of exported farm products is at the level of 15-20%, while, in contrast, the Russian one is only 5%. Russian farmers produce a significant share of the national product, and the organic product manufacture is very promising for them. At the same time, farms have a number of advantages that allow them to quickly adapt to changing conditions. One of the most important initial steps is to help farmers organize foreign economic relations with foreign partners, Russian organizations and government services. The article analyzes the export potential of farmers and also proposes new mechanisms for involving farmers in export activities and increasing their export potential.

The GIS-EEDB (the Expert Earthquake Database) and GIS-ENDDB (the Earth’s Natural Disasters DataBase) geoinformation systems implement methods for spatial-temporal analysis of both classical and new characteristics of the seismogeodynamic process. One of the new characteristics is a normalized creepex parameter that can be used in the statistical approach to studying of seismicity to assess a relative contribution of “soft” (creep) and “hard” (explosion) movements to the overall process of focal radiation. In this paper, the following modifications of the creepex parameter are proposed and compared: 1) Cr0 Cr0_world and CrN CrN world as the result of reducing the parameters Cr0 and CrN of each event to the world average values of the creepex, obtained from the polynomial dependence of Cri_world (i = 0, N) on MS_world where Cri_world are calculated based on the world average estimates of Ms_world and mb_world at uniform intervals of the seismic moment (NEIC catalog), 2) Cr_bji as the result of reducing CrN of each event to CrN_bji i.e. to the average for the studied in this work BJI catalog creepex values obtained from the polygonal trend CrN (MS) of all the catalog events. The advantage of using the creepex parameter, reduced to the trend of averaging the magnitudes of the catalog in question, is revealed, since the smallest linear dependence of the creepex on the magnitude is achieved (in comparison with the classical and normalized creepex) and the symmetry in the maximum amplitude of the deviation of the parameter relative to zero is preserved. Examples of the application of the compared parameters in specific seismic-geodynamic studies of aftershock processes of the Molucca and Simushir earthquakes also demonstrate the advantage of the parameter Cr_bji n the observed correspondence of the variations of the latter to the known physical processes in the focal zone of the Kashmir event, studied by the seismic-geodynamic methods of the GIS-EEDB geographical information system.

Abstract Using 1310.6 × 106J/ψ and 448.1 × 106ψ(3686) events collected with the BESIII detector, the branching fractions of J/ψ decays to Σ+$$ \overline{\Sigma} $$ Σ ¯ − is measured to be (10.61 ± 0.04 ± 0.36) × 10−4, which is significantly more precise than the current world average. The branching fractions of ψ(3686) decays to Σ+$$ \overline{\Sigma} $$ Σ ¯ − is measured to be (2.52 ± 0.04 ± 0.09) × 10−4, which is consistent with the previous measurements. In addition, the ratio of $$ \mathcal{B} $$ B (ψ(3686) → Σ+$$ \overline{\Sigma} $$ Σ ¯ −)/$$ \mathcal{B} $$ B (J/ψ → Σ+$$ \overline{\Sigma} $$ Σ ¯ −) is determined to be (23.8 ± 1.1)% which violates the “12% rule”.

The Algerian insurance market remains under-exploited. In 2019, it generated a turnover of 152,148billion DA, of which 14.118MDA (9.27%) in life insurance. The insurance penetration (turnover / GDP) is about 0.68% against 2.14% in Tunisia and 3.88% in Morocco and a world average of 6.09%. Also, about the density (CA / Population), in Algeria, it is about 28 $ / head against 75$/ head in Tunisia and 127$ / head in Morocco and a world average of 682 $ / head. The purpose of this study is to show the impact of the life insurance tax system on the development of the latter. For that, we started by presenting the Algerian market insurance, its organization, its structure, its world ranking, this is to detect the difficulties and weaknesses of the latter, particularly the insurance branch of people and the reasons for his delay. Next, we have presented the efforts made by the public authorities in tax breaks to promote the latter, and the shortcomings related to the application of these measures, of which we have cited the Tunisian example, finally, we tried to give recommendations to better exploit these reliefs.

The dairy sector in Morocco is a sector that struggles to develop by facing several difficulties. Therefore, a significant gap has emerged between the main national producers and small farmers, while in the economy, the development of small economic actors presents an important lever of growth. If we assume that the consumer’s milk demand function is linear, that it depends only on the consumer’s price, and that production costs follow a decreasing return, and finally, by considering only two actors representing the different types of producers, we will show in this paper that a competitive production subsidy of 0.5 MAD can triple the market share of small farmers while being in a situation of Nash-Cournot’s equilibrium. In addition, the addition of a subsidy to production costs will reduce the price of milk and, thus, increase the annual milk consumption of Moroccans from 59 liters, which is below the world average consumption, to 94 liters annually, thus benefiting the consumer in addition to small farmers.

The COVID-19 pandemic has taken the world by storm, but the magnitude of its impact differs from country to country. As of August 2020, Indonesia’s COVID-19 case-fatality rate is higher than the world average. The aim of our research is to find out why Indonesia has a high COVID-19 case-fatality rate. Using OLS regression models, we found the number of COVID-19 related deaths, the number of COVID-19 tests performed, population age, population, voice and accountability index, and control of corruption index are significant predictors of a country’s COVID-19 case-fatality rate. Based on our results, we conclude that Indonesia’s COVID-19 case-fatality rate is higher than it is supposed to be, mainly because of a lack of COVID-19 testing and accurate public information.

Introduction. Currently, a business both organizes its sales through social networks and solves various business problems for them, for example, finding employees and business partners, expanding sales markets. Companies that want to grow successfully, to be in demand in the market, must pay close attention to social networks. The purpose of the paper is to study the role of social networks in the functioning of business, establishing and maintaining business communications, and assessing the advantages and disadvantages of different types of business networks. Results. Internet penetration in Ukraine in January 2021 is higher than the world average – 67.6 % or 29.47 million users, and the average growth of Internet users in Ukraine – by 7.3 % or 2 million people. A positive trend in the use of social networks in Ukraine has been observed in recent years also. Thus, their use for business communications in Ukraine is a promising way to establish business contacts. Among the most popular social networks in Ukraine in recent years are Facebook, YouTube and Instagram. If the promotion of goods and services is appropriate through non-professional social networks, it is better to address business issues in professional networks, such as business social networks. Their purpose is to establish business contacts for job search, business partners, meet potential employers, announce vacancies and search for employees, investors, exchange experiences, etc. The disadvantages of using social networks for business are: the ability of attackers to access personal data, depersonalization of contacts etc. Business social networks also include corporate social networks. They help to organize and manage the staff distributed by the corporation's branches with the help of modern forms of business communication. Conclusion. Ukraine is characterized by a higher than the world average, Internet penetration. The same trend is observed in relation to the use of social networks in Ukraine. Although social networks for private use serve as a good platform for advertising and selling goods, from a business point of view, business social networks are the most appropriate for solving business issues and establishing business contacts. Their importance is growing due to the growing globalization of the economy, as well as the need for remote communication, which is due to the danger of the spread of Covid-19.

Past exploration for U deposit in the Philippines discovered the mineralization of radioactive allanite in Palawan. The allanite occurs as sand component in the heavily populated beach of Erawan, San Vicente, Palawan. This work assessed the risks associated with the radionuclides in Erawan beach by in situ ground radiometric survey of K, U, and Th in 694 sampling points. Principal component analysis (PCA) and Pearson correlation coefficient were used to determine the similarity between the radionuclides and to identify other probable anthropogenic sources of radionuclides. Our results show that the mean activity concentrations of K (597.8 Bq kg-1) and Th (93.15 Bq kg-1) are equivalent to 1.5 and 3.1 times of the world average natural radioactivity levels in soil, respectively, while the mean U (34.7 Bq kg-1) is similar to the world average. The mean radiological risk assessments like radium equivalent, gamma specific activity index, external hazard index, internal hazard index, absorbed gamma dose rate, annual effective dose equivalent, annual gonadal equivalent dose, and excess lifetime cancer risk are 213.96 Bq kg-1, 0.78, 0.58, 0.67, 97.24 nGy h-1, 119.25 µSv y-1, 684.39 µSv y-1, and 0.42 (10-3), respectively. Th consistently correlated most to the risks. We attribute the occurrence of Th to the presence of allanite, K to fertilizer use for farming, and U to both the allanite and farming. The results of our study can provide important baseline data for future detailed studies or monitoring of the long-term effects of elevated radiation levels to the local population of Erawan.
