This paper investigates the power resource optimization problem for a new cognitive radio framework with a symbiotic backscatter-aided full-duplex secondary link under imperfect interference cancellation and other hardware impairments. The problem is formulated using two approaches, namely, maximization of the sum rate and maximization of the primary link rate, subject to rate constraints on the secondary link, and the solution for each approach is derived. The problem of a half-duplex secondary link is also solved. Simulation results show that the sum rate and exploitation of the full-duplex capability of the secondary link are strongly affected by both the problem objective and hardware impairments.

While their power is declining, unions and workers remain prominent actors in society. Therefore, there is a need to bring power resource theory back to the analytical forefront in the study of contemporary labour politics and labour market sociology. It provides the analytical perspectives necessary for a comprehensive and historical understanding of labour markets and labour politics. However, this article argues that the original theory developed by Korpi needs to be reassessed and further developed. Revisiting the original theory and reviewing common criticism, the authors argue that power resource theory should pay closer attention to how different types of power resources are mobilised and used and how actors’ interests are shaped during that process. The article seeks to address these issues and thus move power resource theory forward and pave the way for future theorisation.

The focus of this comparative study is on the use of soft power in the digital‎ public diplomacy of two Global South players, Brazil and India, in EU member‎ states. The main objective of this research is to find out how their embassies‎ use digital diplomacy in communication through their official websites‎ and to identify which soft power resources they dominantly use. Quantitative‎ content analysis and thematic analysis were used to analyze the categories and‎ subcategories on the main menu and special banners on each embassy’s home‎ page, and the associated content. Unlike the Indian embassies, which fully‎ embraced digital diplomacy 2.0, the Brazilian embassies do not utilize the full‎ potential of digital diplomacy and primarily remain reliant on websites only.‎ According to this research, the Brazilian embassies in the EU use film as a‎ dominant soft power resource in their digital diplomacy, while the Indian embassies‎ use yoga as a powerful diplomatic tool. Still, both approaches are not‎ enough to attract European publics. There remains a lot of space for improvement‎ and better usage of soft power resources and digital public diplomacy‎ potentials in communicating the powers of Brazil and India in EU countries.‎

In this paper, we consider a communication connectivity problem involving a primary user (transmitter, for example, a Ground Control Station (GCS)) servicing a group of secondary users (receivers, for example, drones) under hostile interference. We formulate this multi-link communication connectivity problem, where the channels are affected by Rayleigh fading, as a zero-sum power resource allocation game between a transmitter and an adversary (jammer). The transmitter's objective is to maximize the probability of communication connectivity with all the receivers. It is proven that the problem has unique equilibrium in power allocation strategies, and the equilibrium is derived in closed form. Moreover, we reduce the problem of designing the equilibrium in power resource allocation strategies to the problem of finding a fixed point of a real-valued function. An algorithm based on the bisection method to find the fixed point (and so equilibrium strategies) is developed, and its convergence is proven.
