Writing is one of the four language skills that the learners should master. The 2013 curriculum also says that one of the English language competencies specified in high school level is that students must be able to compose short written texts using coherent text structures and linguistic elements fluently and accurately. In line with that this study aims to find out whether the marking system feedback can improve students' writing skill. This is a two-cycle classroom action research at SMA Negeri 1 Sewon. The subjects were 26 tenth grade students of class X MIPA 1. The data were collected from observation, written documents, writing scores, and questionnaire. The study results showed that by applying the marking system feedback, students' writing skills improved. The mean scores of the students' writing ability in the pre-cycle was 63.65 at the poor category, the first cycle was 73.65 at the fair category, and the second cycle was 81.35 at the good category. In addition, students tend to give positive responses to the implementation of the marking system feedback. As many as 88.46% think that the feedback is useful in writing activities and can help them in correcting their mistakes, 73.08% think that the technique makes them understand the grammar better, and 80.77% say this technique leads them to be more careful in their writing and also motivates them to improve their composition.

First-principles exploration is very important to molecular design. In this study, geometric structure, intramolecular charge transfer (ICT), energy levels, polar moment, and ultraviolet–visible (UV–Vis) spectroscopy of eight novel and different alkynyl bridged thiophene modified coumarin nonlinear optical molecules with [Formula: see text]-[Formula: see text]-[Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text]-[Formula: see text]-[Formula: see text]-[Formula: see text]-[Formula: see text] structures had been studied by density-functional theory (DFT) calculations within B3LYP hybrid functional using 6-31 [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] Gaussian type molecular-orbital basis set. This has guiding significance for the design of nonlinear optical molecules and the development of coumarin-based photoelectric molecules.

Translation Memory tools have been widely promoted in terms of increased productivity, quality and consistency, while translation scholars have ar-gued that in some cases they might produce the opposite effect. This paper investigates these two related claims through a corpus-based contrastive analysis of 40,000 original and localized Web pages in Spanish. Given that all Web texts are localized using TM tools, the claim of increased quality and consistency is analyzed in contrast with Web texts spontaneously pro-duced in Spanish. The results of the contrastive analysis indicate that local-ized texts tend to replicate source text structures and show higher numbers of inconsistencies at the lexical, syntactic and typographic levels than non-translated Web sites. These findings are associated with lower levels of quality in localized texts as compared to non-translated or spontaneously produced texts.

For a smooth projective variety [Formula: see text], we study analogs of Quot schemes using hearts of non-standard [Formula: see text]-structures of [Formula: see text]. The article is devoted to the investigation of poetic discourse. Discourse is understood as the actualization of text structures in interaction with extralinguistic factors. The article considers the problems of understanding, methods of comprehension and the method of analyzing a poetic text; understanding of the unity of language and thinking, the author's axiological paradigm, refracted through the prism of the dynamics of cultural experience. The author analyze fiction that allow to retrace the formation of poetic concept. The influence of the structure on the formation of text is also presented. The main individual concepts are determined. The given examples illustrate the statements under consideration.

The present case study illustrates the use of explicit text structure intervention for expository reading comprehension with three adolescents with language learning disabilities (LLD). We investigated whether it was feasible to provide direct instruction on the identification of signal words that denote compare–contrast relations between concepts, the purpose and nature of expository text structures, and the use of graphic organizers to assist in retell of target passages and compare/contrast text comprehension. The intervention was effective in improving participants’ text structure identification, signal word recognition, and comprehension of compare–contrast text. This preliminary case study demonstrates that a short-term text structure intervention is feasible and can benefit adolescents with LLD who struggle with expository reading comprehension. Implications for clinical and educational services and future directions for research are provided.

This research was conducted to find out whether the “Pathway to English” textbook of the 11th grade used by SMAN 1 Bungo fulfilled syllabus points at the first semester in the 2013 curriculum and how extras the textbook presented. The result showed that Pathway to English textbook fulfilled 12 of 16 items of basic competence and 5 from 6 items of learning material in syllabus points. 12 basic competences were provided in some exercises of 4 English skills. The learning materials were successfully developed and supported with materials about social function formed cooperating tasks, text structures were available and related the other rules of text structures, and also language features. However, this textbook had weakness about there were none available BC 3.3 (Analyzing the social functions, the structure and language features of expressing hopes, according to the contexts), BC 4.3 (Constructing spoken and written text to express hopes, according to its social functions, structure and language features), BC 4.5 (Editing formal invitation letter according to its social functions structure and language features) and BC 4.6 (Writing formal invitations, according to its social functions, structure and language features).

The article is devoted to one of the most common translation problems in the sphere of law, namely finding the adequate equivalents in vocabulary, especially it concerns foreign terminology, in grammar and in text structure.While it is well-known that equivalence is one of the key concepts in translation, the research on practical applications of this principle in different professional spheres is still limited. With the rise of the interest to the machine translation, the special attention to the most common translation problems in the sphere of law can contribute to the overall understanding of the translation process. The methodological approach taken in this study is a mixed methodology based on comparative, structural, socio-linguistic and socio-cultural aspects of translation. The material presented in the article is based on the original contracts developed in English and Russian for the major oil and gas projects to be implemented in Russia 2006-2009. The examples of vocabulary, grammar and text structures equivalents can show the reasons for emergence of the main translation difficulties - polysemantic structure of some  terms, absence of concept  in either language, dependence of the meaning of the term on the context, idiomatic expressions, historically established traditions in legal text formation – emphasizing the idea that equivalence principle should be considered as a priority when translating contractual documentation.

In this paper, we study pre-Lie analogues of Poisson-Nijenhuis structures and introduce [Formula: see text]-structures on bimodules over pre-Lie algebras. We show that an [Formula: see text]-structure gives rise to a hierarchy of pairwise compatible [Formula: see text]-operators. We study solutions of the strong Maurer–Cartan equation on the twilled pre-Lie algebra associated to an [Formula: see text]-operator, which gives rise to a pair of [Formula: see text]-structures which are naturally in duality. We show that KVN-structures and HN-structures on a pre-Lie algebra [Formula: see text] are corresponding to [Formula: see text]-structures on the bimodule [Formula: see text], and KVB-structures are corresponding to solutions of the strong Maurer–Cartan equation on a twilled pre-Lie algebra associated to an [Formula: see text]-matrix.

As a metrically organized poetic text, the Psalter is built on the principle of substantive and formal parallelism of verses and stanzas in the Hebrew text as well as in Greek and Church Slavonic translations. In the article, based on the material of Slavic translations of different times (from the Sinai Psalter of the 11 th century to the Psalter of 1552 by Maximus the Greek), cases of assimilation / dissimilation of grammatical forms in parallel text structures are considered. The variability which arises in the process of dissimilation has neither genetic (South Slavonic vs East Slavonic, archaic vs new, standard vs non-standard forms), nor functional (literary vs non-literary forms), but rhetorical nature of stylistic variation, conditioned by the structure of the text. The analysis revealed that in early Slavonic psalter redactions the choice and the number of variable grammatical forms are limited; the texts of the 16 th century, namely the Psalms of 1552 translated by Maximus the Greek, are particularly characterized by stylistic grammatical variability, concerning the most different forms (from the substantive Gen. and Dat. cases to the aorist and perfect in the 3 rd person). The examined cases of the dissimilated grammatical forms in parallel contexts of the Psalter are supported by some original Maximus the Greek's works, so that these forms should be considered as stylistic variants of the literary Church Slavonic language.
