This article examines one of the symbolic components of the «objective world» of the novel about the writer – the image of the «book». It is noted that its use in the poetics of «Doctor Zhivago» is multifunctional. In addition to the characteristics of the artistic space, the «book» acts as a «finished object» that implements «universal and all-encompassing semantic segments» in the plot associated with cultural memory, the integrity of life and the world order. Special attention is paid to the content of the genre designation of «final book», which is applied to a number of «polymorphic» novels of the late 19th – 20th centuries and is considered in the context of «genre generalisations» in literature. The meaning of lexical components used within this genre designation is clarified. The occasional meaning «target», contained in the word «final», allows one to see in the intense self-reflection of the writer, which has a significant impact on the creative process, aspiration to cognise the «hidden essence» of things. The appeal to the goals inherent in the «ontological construction» of beings is defined in the philosophical tradition as «phenomenological reduction» (EGA Husserl), «transcending the spirit beyond its limits» (RM Garrigou-Lagrange). These processes are responsible for the retardation of the phase of the formation of the concept of the work – a phenomenon that has not yet been fully explained.

The relevance of the topic is due to the attention to trends in the development of culture. The synthesis of cultural forms is one of the important factors in the dynamics of culture. The teaching of Russian symbolism about the synthesis of cultures was analyzed in the scientifi c literature of the entire twentieth century. The novelty of the research is to compare the idea of art synthesis in the early twentieth and twenty-fi rst centuries. Two aspects of the idea of synthesis are considered: 1) the relevance of the idea of art synthesis in the postmodern era; 2) music and the visual series as organizing centers of art synthesis in the era of information technology. The purpose of this article is to examine the teaching of Russian symbolism about the integration of various forms of art and the features of synthesis in the postmodern era. The idea of integrating cultural forms was one of the key elements in Russian symbolism at the beginning of the twentieth century and was interpreted as a real prospect for the development of culture. In a broad sense, synthesis in symbolism meant the integrity of life, the integration of all spheres of human activity, the “organic connection” of cultures of the past and present. The synthesis can be realized on the basis of the art of symbolism, which can create a new culture. The synthesis of arts was understood as the beginning of the formation of a new culture. The core of the synthesis of arts, the symbolists saw music. Postmodern art is characterized by synthetism. Computer and information technologies create new forms of synthetic media art. The video series becomes the center of integration construction of postmodern audiovisual culture forms. The symbolist idea of the synthesis of arts as the beginning of cultural change in the postmodern era remains a utopian project. But the creation of new art forms in postmodern culture i s based on integration. New technologies are becoming a factor that determines the specifi cs of the synthesis of arts and infl uences the dynamics of culture. Both in Russian symbolism and in modern art, the goal of art synthesis is to present an integral image of the world, to form a system of worldview attitudes.


Inspite of improvements in medical industry and healthcare, pressure ulcers prevention remains high in hospitalized patients. These pressure ulcers prevails mostly in the patients who stays in hospital for long-term, assisted living at home, paralysed patients and with other physical disorders excluding of their diagnosis and health care needs. Pressure ulcers are known as a kind of skin lesion which influences the patient’s integrity of life and their caregiver become an significant reason of morbidity and in some aspects increase in the mortality. Managing and treating pressure ulcers are too costly. Though many devices have been designed with the aim of pressure ulcer prevention and cure but most of the existing technically complex devices have been exposed to be no more efficient and cost effective. Prevalence of these ulcers can be achieved by reducing pressures at bony prominences since pressure ulcers are high-cost and high adverse event. The objective of this manuscript is to review recent articles, with particular emphasis on prevention of bedsore in physically disabled patients.

Abstract The following essay seeks to outline the direction for »evangelical ethics« in the 21st century. The article begins by exploring the contemporary moral and religious situation in terms of dominant global dynamics. In the light of this novel situation, the remainder of the essay presents an account of theological ethics in terms of responsibility for the integrity of life from the perspective of theological humanism. Throughout the article the continuities and discontinuities between this approach to theological ethics and previous forms of Protestant ethics are explored and explained
