AbstractIn this paper, we study classes of linear and nonlinear multi-term fractional differential equations involving a fractional derivative with generalized Mittag-Leffler kernel. Estimates of fractional derivatives at extreme points are first obtained and then implemented to derive new comparison principles for related linear equations. These comparison principles are used to analyze the solutions of the linear multi-term equations, where norm estimates of solutions, uniqueness and several comparison results are established. For the nonlinear problem, we apply the Banach fixed point theorem to establish the existence of a unique solution.

AbstractWe develop a functional analytic approach for the study of nonlocal minimal graphs. Through this, we establish existence and uniqueness results, a priori estimates, comparison principles, rearrangement inequalities, and the equivalence of several notions of minimizers and solutions.

<p>This article partakes of the PEGASE project the goal of which is a better understanding of the mechanisms explaining the behaviour of species living in a network of forest patches linked by ecological corridors (hedges for instance). Actually we plan to study the effect of the fragmentation of the habitat on biodiversity. A simple neutral model for the evolution of abundances in a vegetal metacommunity is introduced. Migration between the communities is explicitely modelized in a deterministic way, while the reproduction process is dealt with using Wright-Fisher models, independently within each community. The large population limit of the model is considered. The hydrodynamic limit of this split-step method is proved to be the solution of a partial differential equation with a deterministic part coming from the migration process and a diffusion part due to the Wright-Fisher process. Finally, the diversity of the metacommunity is adressed through one of its indicators, the mean extinction time of a species. At the limit, using classical comparison principles, the exchange process between the communities is proved to slow down extinction. This shows that the existence of corridors seems to be good for the biodiversity.</p>

This paper is concerned with the existence of extremal solutions for periodic boundary value problems for conformable fractional differential equations with deviating arguments. We first build two comparison principles for the corresponding linear equation with deviating arguments. With the help of new comparison principles, some sufficient conditions for the existence of extremal solutions are established by combining the method of lower and upper solutions and the monotone iterative technique. As an application, an example is presented to enrich the main results of this article.
