The average cost and time overrun of frequent changes in ETO and construction projects is high, and with steadily increasing cost constraints, productivity increase is critical for future competitiveness. Successful lean implementations in project-based production systems have led to great reductions in waste and time to market. However, companies also often struggle with effective customization of lean principles to their changing contexts. This paper extends the scope of the operational system of lean project delivery, initially focused on a project-based production system with the Last Planner System (LPS®) at core, to enhance master planning with options to flexibly handle changes. The research follows the guidelines of Design Science Research, combining the theory and practice of lean project management with results for project flexibility from quantitative models. The main contribution is the proposed operational system, along with the process to evaluate its intended utility, i.e., to increase the ability to quickly and cost effectively handle late changes. This enables the quantitative assessment of the value of planned flexibility in lean projects, before the decision is taken, and illustrates this value for capturing opportunities from customer-driven changes. Insights into the value of design research for the management of project uncertainty are emphasized.

This study dealt with concepts related to banking operational efficiency and its measurement in Iraqi banks. The study is applied as an example on five known private banks in Iraq, and these banks are (Baghdad, Al-Mansour, Ashur, Al-Ahly and Al-Credit). For the period from 2015 to 2018 based on financial ratios indicator. In order to identify the management of Iraqi banks for their operational system on the ability to control the costs and profitability. The results of the study showed that some banks (Assyria, Baghdad, and Al-Ahly) are relay on using operational efficiency which resulted in rising their profits and minimizing costs. This was observed clearly in small-sized banks more than in large banks. In addition, it found that the low profits are due to mismanagement of operational costs.

This study explores the potential of halal tourism recovery efforts with a descriptive analysis approach. Using the latest data for 2020 and a unique theme. The research method uses a descriptive analysis approach, with data collection techniques using triangulation in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. Based on data processing, the results obtained from the strategy by carrying out a CHSE-based health protocol, namely Cleanliness, Health, Safety, and Environment, as well as recovery strategies in the short, medium and long term. The short-term strategy prioritizes local government support, start with financial support and supportive policies. The intermediate strategy is to combine the roles of educational institutions, the government and the media. The long-term strategy is to carry out an operational system for the tourism industry, with input, namely paying attention to the quality of tourism destinations, and then processing it with the full assistance of the government and the output carrying out structured improvements so that halal tourism in Ponorogo can develop again. From the results above, it can be concluded that Halal Tourism in Ponorogo has made improvements with the strategies above, but it is still not optimal so it needs to be fully supported by the local government, stakeholders, media and society. During the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic, the self-service restaurant sector, as well as other types of food services, are facing an unprecedented crisis needing to adapt their service to avoid closing their doors. With varied and quick meals, the self-service buffet is one of the most important types of outside services. However, the type of service where the clients follow a line on the buffet and serve their meals has impaired traditional restaurant operation during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic and, perhaps, after it. In this sense, this study presents an overview of the self-service buffet restaurant operational system in the context of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic.

Decades of advances in computer architecture, software-intensive applications and system integration have created significant challenges for embedded systems designers and test engineers. Intrusive software instrumentation and breakpoint-based debugging are often viewed as the primary options for observing operational system internals. This narrow sight creates complicated test flows and convoluted debugging procedures. Modern embedded computing systems offer Embedded Trace as the technological answer to the encountered observability conundrum. Although an integral part of virtually all modern processors, it is frequently overlooked. Its technical foundations are little known to application engineers, test engineers, and project managers. This article explains Embedded Trace as an essential technology in the testing and debugging toolbox. It highlights its capabilities, limitations and opportunities.

AbstractThe quantitative precipitation forecast in the 9 km operational modeling system (without the use of a convection parameterization scheme) at the Shanghai Meteorological Service (SMS) usually suffers from excessive precipitation at the grid scale and less-structured precipitation patterns. Two scale-aware convection parameterizations were tested in the operational system to mitigate these deficiencies. Their impacts on the warm-season precipitation forecast over China were analyzed in case studies and two-month retrospective forecasts. The results from case studies show that the importance of convection parameterization depends on geographical regions and weather regimes. Considering a proper magnitude of parameterized convection can produce more realistic precipitation distribution and reduce excessive grid-scale precipitation in southern China. In the northeast and southwest China, however, the convection parameterization plays an insignificant role in precipitation forecast because of strong synoptic-scale forcing. A statistical evaluation of the two-month retrospective forecasts indicates that the forecast skill for precipitation in the 9-km operational system is improved by choosing proper convection parameterization. This study suggests that improvement in contemporary convection parameterizations is needed for their usage for various meteorological conditions and reasonable partitioning between parameterized and resolved convection.

The development of sharia banking has become a measure of the success of the sharia economy. Syharia banks have a function as channeling funds to the community and collecting funds from the community. In sharia banking, there are several contracts that have been implemented, one of which is mudharabah contract. Mudharabah contract is a business cooperation between two parties where the first party (shahibul maal) provides the capital while the second party becomes the manager (mudharib). The purpose of this study is to find out more about the teacher Al Amien Prenduan's perceptions of the mudharabah contract that has been implemented at BNI Sharia Sumenep. The researchers use a case study qualitative research. The methods used are interview and documentation methods. The results show, the majority of teachers at Al Amien Prenduan used savings at the BNI Sharia Sumenep bank. Knowledge of the existence of sharia banks is evident in the form of savings which are mostly used by Al Amien Prenduan teachers. However, the promotion carried out by the sharia bank is felt by the teacher Al Amien Prenduan. The Al Amien Prenduan teachers’ understanding of mudharabah contract is felt to be less influencing perceptions of the operational system and also the way of services provided. Meanwhile, Al Amien's teacher do not understand more deeply about mudharabah contract, among others, due to lack of information and lack of socialization from the financial institution.
