Abstract Canadian political science has changed over the past 50 years; however, these changes have come slowly and lag behind larger societal demographic transformations. While early attention to diversity concentrated on the place of women within the discipline, more recent attention focuses on the presence of Black, Indigenous and other political scientists of colour. Accompanying a diversification of personnel has been a broadening of the substantive focus of our research, as well as an expansion in the epistemological and methodological approaches applied to the study of politics. Yet despite these adaptations, the study of political science in Canada remains siloed and often exclusionary, challenging our ability to train the next generation of scholars to be capable of addressing the issues facing a world that is increasingly complex and diverse.

Halal tourism is a new segment in tourism studies that have received attention and has now proliferated. Past studies have not been so deep in treading global scientific literature on halal tourism studies on tracking its evolution and trends among scientific journal which focuses on social science discipline. Therefore, this article is based on a systematic literature review analysis of halal tourism in social science discipline as an effort to improve our understanding of previous halal tourism studies. Data were obtained from the academic database Scopus, 31 articles were obtained about halal tourism in social science discipline, and the data period was collected from the beginning to the end of 2020. The data is illustrated using two applications, namely NVIVO and VOSViewer, as the primary tools for analyze qualitative data, which selected; (VOSViewer; Keyword Co-occurrence Network Maps and Trend (KCNM/T)), (NVIVO; Hierarchy Chart (HC), word frequencies (WF), and Explore Diagram Analysis (EDA)). The results showed that, from 31 journals, Stephenson (2014) has the most influence with high cited, besides, Tourism Management as a journal name that identified many articles published there, and Routledge as a publisher with a high total journal on Halal Tourism, and Indonesia as a country that high mention time. Specifically, various approaches and distributions based on methodology, objectives, and geography were the research's focus. Recent trends and the dominant frequency of words from the study of halal tourism have shown several scholars' high interest. In the halal tourism studies on social sciences discipline, previous scholars have carried out many different research segments, namely, tourism issues, product issues, destination issues, travel issues, service issues, and market issues. Future research is also considered in this article

This research analyzes the ICT Competencies of Pre-services Teachers in Papua, including the Region of Sorong, Merauke, Jayapura, and Manokwari. This research aims to discover the students of Teachers' Training Faculty spread in Papua competencies on ICT. The measurement of ICT competencies is carried out using a model developed by Tondeur for preservice teachersusing questionnaires that consisted of 19 items. Questionnaires were distributed to Papua Region covering Jayapura and Merauke, West Papua region covering Sorong and Manokwari. Sixty-eight respondents became the data in this study. Data were analyzed using XL Stats to find the mean and standard deviation. The findings in this study were; the low competencies were found on Papuan Indigenous Pre-service teachers, and the high competencies were found in science discipline compared to non-science in Papua and West Papua Indonesia. The low ability of native Papuan students in managing information in the digital world is indicated by the lack of awareness of preservice teachers in developing a sense of responsibility in using ICT as a communication medium and activities involving ICT use.

The main purpose of this study is to develop some activity plans by 7E model of the constructivist approach on the subjects of acid, base and indicators in physical science course. Constructivist 7E approach consists of seven stage such as Elicit, Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate and Extend. Many activities related to physical Science subjects about ‘Acid, Base and Indicators’ were adapted by each and every stage of constructivist 7E approach. The activity plans were arranged for acquisition knowledge of physical science course. So, the application duration of the activities was determined by these acquisitions. A learning design by 7E model of constructivist approach of acid base and indicators in physical science course using mind mapping techniques.

The article characterizes modern approaches to teaching information disciplines in a virtual environment of teaching establishment. The concept of virtual learning environment is defined. The interpretation of communicative and communication competence is presented. The main directions of indirect pedagogical communication in the virtual learning environment of computer science disciplines are described. The communicative requirements to the organization of training of computer science disciplines on the basis of the virtual learning environment are analyzed and defined. The structure of communicative and communication competence is described. Identified the tools by which indirect learning is implemented in a virtual learning environment. A partial teaching methodology is proposed, which is implemented in a virtual learning environment. The structure of electronic educational and methodical complexes are characterized, which includes autonomous, local and distance educational courses and methodical support for their use in a specific computer science discipline placed in a virtual learning environment. The components of electronic educational and methodical complexes that reflect the author's concept of formation of communicative competencies and provide the implementation of the methodical system of teaching computer science disciplines in the virtual learning environment are analyzed. The method of teaching computer science disciplines in a virtual environment is described.

Partnerships between educators and science faculty can be professionally productive and personally fulfilling, but developing such partnerships can be challenging. This chapter describes the career trajectory of a geoscience faculty member who evolved from a focus on research within his science discipline to a portfolio of activities including disciplinary science research, geoscience education activities, and geoscience education research. The author provides suggestions for how to identify potential science faculty partners and how to develop and maintain successful partnerships.
