This study examines the system integration of a game engine with robotics middleware to drive an 8 degree offreedom (DoF) robotic upper limb to generate human-like motion for telerobotic applications. The developed architectureencompasses a pipeline execution design using Blender Game Engine (BGE) including the acquisition of real humanmovements via the Microsoft Kinect V2, interfaced with a modeled virtual arm, and replication of similar arm movements on the physical robotic arm. In particular, this study emphasizes the integration of a human “pilot” with ways to drive such a robotic arm through simulation and later, into a finished system. Additionally, using motion capture technology, a human upper limb action was recorded and applied onto the robot arm using the proposed architecture flow. Also, we showcase the robotic arm’s actions which include reaching, picking, holding, and dropping an object. This paper presentsa simple and intuitive kinematic modeling and 3D simulation process, which is validated using 8-DoF articulated robot to demonstrate methods for animation, and simulation using the designed interface.

This study aims to investigate the factors that enable or hinder the implementation of game development activity in the instructional process. One instructor and 15 gifted students between the ages of 11 and 15 took part in the study. The students developed computer games related to science topics using MS Kodu game engine within the implementation process. According to the findings, it is seen that instructional practices have great importance, and the instructor plays a key role in the activity. Making and playing games have been the greatest motivation resource for students. In addition, the social environment can be an important tool in sustaining students' motivation levels. The students' negative attitudes toward educational game topics and non-computer activities hinder the successful implementation of the activity. The MS Kodu game engine might be appropriate for novice designers but not be enough for teaching programming concepts. Team-based game development activity is believed to be useful for developing advanced games and increasing the level of interaction between students.

The current study presents an adaptable light game engine, which is used to produce interactive educational settings focused on cultural heritage. The tool is implemented using inexpensive and open source technologies. In this paper we first discuss the architecture of the application and we then present two games developed by using the proposed engine. The produced games are multi-user and support the collaboration and communication among learners and among learners and instructors. Learners earn marks, badges and certificates as they study the material and complete the quizzes. Various evaluation experiments have been realized to understand the suitability of the produced content in educational activities. The evaluation results of the authentic educational actions were quite positive and supportive by both students and teachers.

“Full Metal Parabellum” is a three-dimensional rail shooter game for smartphone with an Android Operating System. This game was created using Unity 3D game engine for Android platform. In this game, player will have to defeat all enemies in every stages. Player can move the in-game camera and aim by moving the smartphone around. This game is tested by black box testing, alpha testing, and beta testing with a survey distributed to 30 respondents. The survey shows that Full Metal Parabellum is a fun game that easy to play, and the gyroscope feature that was implemented in this game is working as planned.

The paper presents the design of a highly customizable game for children with autism spectrum disorder facing learning difficulties. The same solution can be used for children with or without other developmental disorders facing learning difficulties. The scope of the research was to create a generic solution to facilitate the learning process of reading in the targeted population. The latest pedagogical approaches (TEACCH, PECS, ABA, Makaton, etc.) are combined with appropriate gamification techniques to produce the desired outcome. The game has been developed with the unity game engine in order to run in any device. The final solution has been pilot tested in a small group of highly-functioning children with autism. The results of the design process and the early findings from the pilot testing are presented in the current paper.

The development of technology is currently increasingly rapid, technology plays a role both as a medium of social interaction, a means of education, and a means of entertainment. By applying technology in everyday life, it is hoped that it can help and make work easier. One form of activity is climbing and adventure, which is an activity that combines sports and recreation which is very popular with young people. The Bandung Mountaineering Community (KPGB) is a community with climbing or adventure activities that act as a medium of communication and information between nature activists. This community is expected to be a communication line for establishing friendships to form a strong sense of kinship between fellow climbers, especially in the city of Bandung. Busy and busy working hours cause the members to find it difficult to arrange a schedule for climbing activities. The number of obstacles and levels of difficulty in the climbing field, makes many people feel afraid to climb. The climbers who had accidents and disappeared, and even died, added to the fear of those who wanted to climb. From the existing problems, it is necessary to have an idea of how to solve the problem when there are many activities from all members who cannot climb. So this game application with the theme of climbing adventure, was formed to meet the satisfaction of members of the Bandung Mountaineering Community, with Cocos 2d-x programming based on the Android game engine using a smartphone that produces climbing adventure games with 2D (two-dimensional) characters. This application is designed with simple features, therefore users can play this adventure game comfortably. There is also a feature that will connect users directly to the KPGB website, in which there is information about climbing equipment. This application is expected to provide pleasure for members of the Bandung Mountaineering Community who cannot carry out adventure or climbing activities directly.
