The degree of eutrophication in the water environment is deepening. For the appropriate treatment of eutrophication, it is essential to evaluate it accurately. However, the evaluation of eutrophication has not been well solved because it is full of uncertainty. Herein, a multidimensional connection cloud model, combined with the improved CRITIC (Criteria Importance Through Inter-criteria Correlation) method, was put forward here to assess water eutrophication and depict the randomness, ambiguity, and interaction of evaluation factors. First, an improved CRITIC was adopted to determine indicator weight so that the correlation among different indicators and more information were depicted. Secondly, a multidimensional connection cloud was simulated to characterize fuzzy indicators and ambiguous classification boundary values according to classification criteria. Next, the connection degree was calculated relative to the evaluation standard. The eutrophication grade was specified under the “maximum connection degree” principle. At last, the effectiveness and practicality of the model proposed here were affirmed by two cases and comparisons with supplementary methods. The results suggest that the proposed model can avoid shortcomings of the original CRITIC method and cloud model, and make the assessment result more realistic.

Using simple fuzzy numbers to approximate general fuzzy numbers is an important research aspect of fuzzy number theory and application. The existing results in this field are basically based on the unweighted metric to establish the best approximation method for solving general fuzzy numbers. In order to obtain more objective and reasonable best approximation, in this paper, we use the weighted distance as the evaluation standard to establish a method to solve the best approximation of general fuzzy numbers. Firstly, the conceptions of I-nearest r-s piecewise linear approximation (in short, PLA) and the II-nearest r-s piecewise linear approximation (in short, PLA) are introduced for a general fuzzy number. Then, most importantly, taking weighted metric as a criterion, we obtain a group of formulas to get the I-nearest r-s PLA and the II-nearest r-s PLA. Finally, we also present specific examples to show the effectiveness and usability of the methods proposed in this paper.

Abstract The environment in alpine region is complex and harsh, and the durability of concrete is seriously affected by freeze-thaw and salt invasion. In this paper, the relative dynamic modulus of elasticity, chloride permeability coefficient, mass loss rate and carbonation depth are selected as the evaluation indexes of concrete durability in Northeast China. Based on prior knowledge and expert group decision-making, the durability grade is divided and the evaluation standard is established; The evaluation model of concrete durability based on cloud model and D-S evidence theory is established. According to the engineering experimental data, the membership degree of concrete durability evaluation index in different grades is obtained through the correlation measurement of cloud model. The normalized evidence is formed and fused by D-S evidence theory. The results show that the durability grade of concrete is grade I, which is consistent with the actual project. It shows that using cloud model and evidence theory evaluation model to evaluate the durability of concrete is a new and effective method.

Purpose This paper aims to make a comparative study on the latest version of green campus evaluation standard between China and America: Green Campus Evaluation Standard (GB/T51356-2019) and the sustainability tracking, assessment and rating system (STARS 2.2). The differences of evaluation methods and contents are analyzed and their respective characteristics and advantages are sorted out, so as to promote the development of sustainable campus evaluation standards. Design/methodology/approach The research mainly adopts the method of comparative study, which is carried out from three dimensions, namely, the related policies development of campus construction and world university sustainable rankings; the content of evaluation standards (including evaluation methods and evaluation categories and scores); the characteristics and current application of standards. Findings There are great differences between the evaluation standards of China and America in organization and participation mode, evaluation method and content. Public engagement, energy and campus engagement are the hot spots. Buildings, energy, food and dining and investment and finance will become the focus of sustainable campus in the future. Specific optimization strategies of key points, evaluation method and content and organization and participation mode of Chinese standard are put forward. Practical implications This paper clarifies the advantages and disadvantages of the current global sustainable campus, and provides the basis for the next stage of construction policy. At the same time, it is helpful for all countries, especially China, to formulate construction guidelines that not only meet their own actual needs but also conform to the trend of global sustainable campus development. Social implications The connotation of sustainable campus is enriched, and the evaluation standards of sustainable campus are improved. The development of sustainable campus is promoted, so as to realize the sustainable development goals. Originality/value This research expands the scope of the study to the whole campus, rather than just one aspect of campus buildings. It compares the evaluation standard of green campus in China with STARS in the USA, and no longer compares leadership in energy and environmental design for schools. It discusses the campus building’s energy conservation while paying attention to the campus green consciousness, green management and green planning. Based on the relevant data currently used by STARS in the global evaluation, this paper analyzes the hot spots and shortcomings of the current global sustainable campus construction and puts forward some optimization suggestions for China’s green campus evaluation system.

Image sonar is a widely used wireless communication technology for detecting underwater objects, but the detection process often leads to increased difficulty in object identification due to the lack of equipment resolution. In view of the remarkable results achieved by artificial intelligence techniques in the field of underwater wireless communication research, we propose an object detection method based on convolutional neural network (CNN) and shadow information capture to improve the object recognition and localization effect of underwater sonar images by making full use of the shadow information of the object. We design a Shadow Capture Module (SCM) that can capture the shadow information in the feature map and utilize them. SCM is compatible with CNN models that have a small increase in parameters and a certain degree of portability, and it can effectively alleviate the recognition difficulties caused by the lack of device resolution through referencing shadow features. Through extensive experiments on the underwater sonar data set provided by Pengcheng Lab, the proposed method can effectively improve the feature representation of the CNN model and enhance the difference between class and class features. Under the main evaluation standard of PASCAL VOC 2012, the proposed method improved from an average accuracy (mAP) of 69.61% to 75.73% at an IOU threshold of 0.7, which exceeds many existing conventional deep learning models, while the lightweight design of our proposed module is more helpful for the implementation of artificial intelligence technology in the field of underwater wireless communication.

The estimation of user experience in a wireless network has always been a research hotspot, especially for the realization of network automation. In order to solve the problem of user experience estimation in wireless networks, we propose a two-step optimization method for the selection of the kernel function and bandwidth in a naive Bayesian classifier based on kernel density estimation. This optimization method can effectively improve the accuracy of estimation. At present, research on user experience estimation in wireless networks does not include an in-depth analysis of the reasons for the decline of user experience. We established a scheme integrating user experience prediction and network fault diagnosis. Key performance indicator (KPI) data collected from an actual network were divided into five categories, which were used to estimate user experience. The results of these five estimates were counted through the voting mechanism, and the final estimation results could be obtained. At the same time, this voting mechanism can also feed back to us which KPIs lead to the reduction of user experience. In addition, this paper also puts forward the evaluation standard of the multi-service perception capability of cell-level wireless networks. We summarize the user experience estimation for three main services in a cell to obtain a cell-level user experience evaluation. The results showed that the proposed method can accurately estimate user experience and diagnosis abnormal values in a timely manner. This method can improve the efficiency of network management.

AimAs a locally destructive intermediate bone tumor with low incidence, high recurrence rate, and difficulty in reconstruction, giant cell tumor of bone (GCTB) in the proximal femur has no unified surgical treatment standard. This study aimed to compare the differences in local recurrence, reconstruction durability, and postoperative function after treatment with either extended curettage (EC) or segmental resection (SR) for GCTB in the proximal femur so as to provide constructive suggestions for the rational selection of EC or SR operation scheme.Patients and Methods29 patients (15 men and 14 women) were included in this retrospective study, with a mean age of 32.1 years. According to the division method of proximal femur of International Society Of Limb Salvage (ISOLS), there was 1 case in the H1 area, 17 cases in the H2 area, 10 cases in the H1+H2 area, and 1 case in the H1+H2+H3 area. Among them were 11 cases of Campanacci grade II GCTB, 18 cases of Campanacci grade III GCTB, and 7 cases with pathological fractures. All patients underwent either EC or SR surgery. The Musculoskeletal Tumor Society (MSTS) score was used for patient evaluation. The operation effectiveness was analyzed according to the Mankin evaluation standard. Regular follow-up was performed to evaluate the recurrence rate, limb function, and long-term complications of the two surgical methods.ResultsAll patients were followed up for a mean of 60.4 months. Local recurrence occurred in one of 19 patients treated with EC (5.3%) and one of 10 patients treated with SR (10%). The MSTS score of lower limb function in patients in the EC group was better compared to patients in the SR group (P = 0.002). Complications occurred in 2 cases (10.5%) and 5 cases (50%) in the EC group (osteoarthritis, osteonecrosis) and SR group (joint stiffness, infection, prosthesis loosening), respectively, with significant differences between the two groups (P = 0.03). The operation effectiveness was analyzed according to the Mankin evaluation standard. The EC group showed an optimal rate of 94.7% (18/19) as opposed to 80% (8/10) in the SR group.ConclusionsFor GCTB in the proximal femur, when the tumor does not extensively involves the surrounding soft tissues, the articular surface was not damaged, and there is no pathological fracture with apparent displacement, EC surgery should be fully considered.

A randomized trial of the GRAIL GalleriTM multi-cancer screening test is being planned for the National Health Service in England, and will have 140,000 healthy participants aged 50–79: 70,000 exposed to screening and 70,000 unexposed. The test reportedly detects 50 different cancers and is expected to reduce all-cancer mortality by approximately 25%. Given this effect size—and that cancer deaths constitute a large fraction of all deaths—the trial is sufficiently large to test the effect on all-cause mortality. Because most patients believe cancer screening “saves lives”, the GRAIL/National Health Service collaboration could set the evaluation standard for multi-cancer screening.
