The analysis of the prevalence of malignant neoplasms (EIT) on the lips and oral cavity according to the annual report on Russia prepared by the Moscow Oncology research Institute named after P. A. Herzen and the Moscow regional oncologic dispensary. The dynamics of the analysis was carried out for 2011 - 2017 years. The detectability of the lip and oral cavity ZNO in the Moscow region is significant. The incidence of malignant tumors of the oral cavity is more pronounced in comparison with the ZNO lips. The extent of the EIT I-II degree are more characteristic of ZNO lips, and for TESTING of the oral cavity II-III degree. Mortality during the first year after diagnosis was established in every fourth patient with oral HEAT. The prevalence of lip ZNO for the period from 2011 to 2017 decreases, and the ZNO of the oral cavity increases.

Abstract Background Cryolipolysis is a fairly popular procedure performed in North America, Europe, and many other countries. Although it is considered a rather safe procedure, there are underreported side effects such as paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH), contour irregularities, skin and soft tissue atrophy, and asymmetries. Our knowledge regarding the prevalence and treatment of such complications is limited. Objectives We hereby report a case series of 5 patients treated for various complications of cryolipolysis, including PAH, that persisted for more than 12 months after their last treatment. Methods Five patients with various complications of cryolipolysis (4 patients with PAH and 1 with atrophy and indentations) presented in our private office between 2015 and 2018. Three of the 4 patients with PAH were treated at other facilities with ultrasonic liposuction, laser lipolysis, and radiofrequency skin tightening devices respectively. The fourth patient developed PAH after liposuction at another facility. The fifth patient developed several areas of indentations and atrophy and received mesotherapy and lymphatic massages at another facility. All 5 patients were subsequently treated in our office by means of a customized approach specific to their underlying complications. Results Near-normal results were achieved in all 5 patients. None of our patients showed any recurrences of their initial complication for which they were treated. All 5 patients were extremely satisfied with their results. Conclusions Cryolipolysis, just like any other form of lipolysis, has certain specific adverse effects associated with it, including but not limited to PAH. Complications of cryolipolysis must be individually recognized and treated accordingly. Level of Evidence: 4

TUBB2A is a gene that has recently been reported in association with structural brain abnormalities. Only 3 cases have been reported to date with disparate brain morphologic abnormalities, although all patients have presented with developmental delay and infantile-onset epilepsy. We report a fourth patient with a de novo variant in TUBB2A that is predicted to be pathogenic, presenting with developmental delay, spastic diplegia, exaggerated startle, and anterior temporal pachygyria in the absence of epilepsy. This report serves to further delineate the phenotype of the TUBB2A-related disorders. Focal anterior temporal pachygyria may facilitate recognition of additional cases of this tubulinopathy.

Abstract BACKGROUND: Onyx HD-500 is a liquid embolic used to treat intracranial aneurysms. OBJECTIVE: To determine the incidence of parent vessel stenosis and the management strategy for these patients. METHODS: Medical records of patients treated with Onyx HD-500 between 2008 and 2011 were retrospectively reviewed. Clinical and radiographic evaluations were assessed. Quantitative magnetic resonance angiography and NOVA (VasSol, Chicago, Illinois) images were reviewed for patients in whom these examinations were acquired. RESULTS: Seventeen patients underwent treatment of unruptured internal carotid artery aneurysms. Three patients (17.6%) developed visual symptoms after the procedure: 2 permanent and 1 transient. Four patients (23.5%) developed delayed internal carotid artery stenosis at the 6- to 8-month follow-up angiography, despite a standard antiplatelet regimen with confirmed sensitivities to aspirin and clopidogrel. Quantitative magnetic resonance angiography was obtained in all patients with stenosis to guide treatment. One patient progressed to complete but asymptomatic internal carotid artery occlusion. The second and third patients had asymptomatic stenosis of 40% and 70%, respectively, both of which resolved on follow-up angiography. The fourth patient developed critical stenosis distal to the aneurysm neck. Quantitative magnetic resonance angiography demonstrated adequate flow in the first 3 patients and decreased flow in the fourth patient, necessitating angioplasty and stenting. Prolonged dual antiplatelet regimens were continued in 2 of the 4 patients, 1 with progression of stenosis and 1 with improvement of stenosis. CONCLUSION: We observed a higher rate of parent vessel steno-occlusive progression after aneurysm embolization with Onyx HD-500 than reported in the literature, despite overall low morbidity. Quantitative vessel flow imaging was useful in subsequent medical management and decision making to perform therapeutic angioplasty/stenting to preserve flow.

We report four female patients with Graves' disease with positive ANA antibodies and possibility for development of systemic lupus erythematosus. All four patients have been treated with antithyroid drugs. SLE symptoms have appeared from 4 to 12 months after the beginning of therapy with methysol in two of them. The third patient had no symptoms for SLE, but her ANA, anti-DNA, and antihistone antibodies had been positive at the time of the onset of thyrotoxicosis. The fourth patient had alopecia areata with positive ANA and antihistone antibodies.
