In July 2020, four months into the disruption of normal life caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, we assessed the institutional climate within the School of Medicine. Voluntary surveys were completed by 135 graduate students in 11 PhD-granting programs and by 83 members of the graduate training faculty. Several themes emerged. PhD students work hard, but the number of hours spent on research-related activities has declined during the pandemic. The students are worried about the pandemic's impact on their research productivity, consequent delays in their graduation, and diminished future job prospects. Many late stage PhD students feel they do not have adequate time or resources to plan for their future careers. Symptoms of anxiety and/or depression are prevalent in 51% of the students, based on answers to standardized questions. Most students report they have strong mentoring relationships with their faculty advisors and like their programs, but they identify to a lesser extent with the medical school as a whole. Faculty think highly of their graduate students and are also worried about the pandemic's impact upon productivity and the welfare of students. Students are interested in access to an Ombuds office, which is currently being organized by the medical school. Moving forward, the school needs to address issues of bias, faculty diversity, support for mentor training, professional development, and the imposter syndrome. We must also work to create a climate in which many more graduate students feel that they are valued members of the academic medicine community.

ABSTRACTThe aims of this research were to describe the validity and to describe the university students respons’ on appropriate technology integrated virtual laboratory based learning module on Acidic and Basic Solution Topic in Tadris IPA, Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Faculty, UIN KHAS Jember. Research method was R&D research by using ADDIE model which consisted of  4 steps: (1) Analyzing curricula and students’ university characteristic, (2) Designing content and lay out of learning module, (3) Developing appropriate technology integrated virtual laboratory based learning module, (4) Validating learning module by expert judging then implementating it to students’ university. The Evaluation steps was not already done by researcher because of time and fee limitation. Result of research showed that learning module got score 3.79 based on material eligibility, 3.88 based on design eigibility and  3,85 based on languange eligibility (for scale 1-4 ). Furthermore, the result of students’ university respon on learning module were 77.8% based on material eligibility, 86.7% based on design egibility, dan 91.1% based on languange eligibility.

Dermatology is a rapidly growing specialty. Dermatology practice has become increasingly complex. The average dermatology practitioner is faced with an explosion of scientific knowledge and would also have to deal with diverse issues such as finance, medicolegal issues, taxation, marketing, and regulatory acts. Updating knowledge and micromanaging clinic-related issues are major concerns for a practicing dermatologist. Kerala state branch of the Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists, and Leprologists can serve the interests of this group of members by helping out in training, faculty development, and research. This document presents a road map for such an initiative.

The objectives of this study are :1) to describe linguistics problems produced by the students during the negotiation of meaning in pair work discussion, and 2) to describe the students’ language awareness (willingness and unwillingness to correct the linguistics problems). This study applied descriptive quantitative design and the subjects are 3 pairs consisting of high-high (H-H) learner, high and low (H-L) learner and low- low (L-L) learner. All of them are the fourth semester students of English department of teachers training faculty of Lampung University in academic 2018/2019. Each pair was given a topic (chosing 5 personality traits that a teacher should have). Each pair discussed the topic and during the discussion, all their utterances were recorded, transcribed and were analyzed based on relevant theories. The results show that each pair produced linguistics problems, such as grammatical and vocabulary. Most of the learners, especially H-L and L-L are not aware of linguistics problems because they focus more on the message across. Eventhough some of the pairs are aware of linguistics problems and are willing to correct them, it does not guarantee that the input can be internalized by their pairs since they focus more on meaning during the interaction. Therefore, it is suggested further researchers investigate this phenomena.

This study was conducted on March to November 2020. This study used a qualitative approach and secondary data was analyzed descriptively and exploratively. The informants in this study were students of the Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Faculty (FTIK) IAIN Tulungagung who carried out the Internship program 1 and 2 at MTsN 2 Blitar, East Java. Data were collected using questionnaires, observation, documentation, and interviews. As much as 92% of students stated that there was preparation or provision of apprenticeship program at IAIN Tulungagung before the students went to the field. At the same percentage, students claimed to be happy in carrying out an internship program. This was indicated by the existence of special preparations every day before entering the class which was stated by 84% of students. All students (100%) had high enthusiasm for teamwork. According to 84% of students, this was triggered by the atmosphere in the partner institutions to support the implementation of internships. Thus, all students (100%) can conduct socialization in a flexible manner with the school. Even though the implementation of internship was well, there were 30% of students who stated that there were obstacles in its implementation.
