E-learning-based learning has been widely applied in several educational institutions, one of which is Telkom University (Tel-U). Through the Center of e-Learning and Open Education (CeLOE) program established by Tel-U, network-based learning can be enjoyed by students. However, along the way, CeLOE encountered several obstacles, including the very rigid teaching materials that could have an impact on the reduced learning power of students. To solve this, it is necessary to improve the content of the material, especially learning videos by providing designs and animations for lecturer materials which on average contain full text. The approach used is the principle of visual design by utilizing motion graphics as the main aspect of material content with the ultimate goal of making learning videos more interesting and animated. Thus, the material presented can stimulate interest in learning for students at Telkom University.

Terrorism represents one of the most pressing contemporary security threats. As a consequence, governments provide information to the public on threat levels and on how to respond to terror incidents. To effectively reassure the public, and to increase their vigilance, it is essential that the information communicated is accessible, clear, actionable and engaging. This is the first empirical study in the world to explore the impact of information design principles and visualization of information on the communication of security information related to terrorism. Two different but complementary strands were devised: Strand 1 - compared whether more visualized information was more effective than text dense information at communicating to the public; Strand 2 - compared whether a motion graphics was more effective than an infographic at communicating to the public. An initial usability test was conducted to identify existing problems and needs. Several other usability tests and iterations were then conducted to develop new design solutions. Empirical testing was then conducted for final evaluation and validation, collecting quantitative and qualitative data. Results show significant differences between pre- and post-knowledge of the Terror Threat Levels. Results also show significant differences between text dense information and more visualized information. Results further show no significant difference between communicating information via an infographic or motion graphics in situations where information needs to be assimilated as a crescendo (i.e. levels of severity) or as a series of steps to be followed (action in an emergency). This study provides important guidelines on how to effectively communicate security information to the public, with practical implications for security agencies.

ABSTRACT  So many music shows are held in Indonesia. Music shows are now also decorated by Video background or known as Visual Mapping. Visual Mapping is a new medium on the stage. This makes the writer want to make an observation on the atmosphere and ambiance provided by a Visual Mapping on a music event. Qualitative methods with observative techniques and interviews to obtain data and information needed to be used as a basis for data collection. The writer expects that visual mapping observation will be able to provide an explanation regarding visual mapping as a new media that provides an atmosphere & ambiance as well as a new experience for visitors.   Keyword: Music Event,  Motion Graphics, Video Mapping, Ambience, Media.

This research aims to develop stroke order motion graphics for Chinese characters to solve the problem of memorising Chinese characters’ stroke order in the learning process. This research adopted cognitive load theory and the ADDIE model as an instructional design process guide. Herbart’s four-stage teaching method is used as a guide for the motion graphics presentation module. Based on the characteristics of Malaysian students who learn Chinese as their second language, motion graphics for Chinese characters’ stroke order learning were developed. The expert evaluation was conducted to identify problems, and modifications were done to improve the created prototype. A total of six Chinese characters’ stroke order motion graphics have been successfully developed. The result shows that cognitive load theory provides an effective solution for developing Chinese characters’ stroke order motion graphics. The ADDIE model also offered a significant direction for the instructional design process. In addition, to be more effective in Chinese character stroke order teaching, interface design must consider the relevant teaching effects of cognitive load theory. However, making the prototype in advance can avoid large-scale modifications in the later process. The successful development of the Chinese characters’ stroke order motion graphics allows teaching Chinese character stroke order in Malaysia to be carried out more effectively.

Kata Kunci: anak, animasi, motion graphic, pandemi, sosialisasi AbstractThe impact perceived due to the Covid-19 pandemic affects economic conditions and also psychologically, especially on children. This indication can be seen in the development of children's learning processes during teaching and learning activities through online media. Children sometimes feel difficulty concentrating, anxiety, and excessive worry. The need to motivate children to absorb lessons again becomes an urgent matter when they return to school face to face after the pandemic. However, before placing children into this condition, it is necessary to have a program that equips children before implementing the activities. This study uses data collected from the back-to-school intervention program research by Jhoni Warmansyah along with the SMCR model that later can produce infographic video media in the form of motion graphics. This animation provides education regarding the introduction of children's emotions during the pandemic and further provides instruction in the form of demonstrations on compliance with health protocols for children when they return to school later. Keywords: child, animation, campaign, motion graphic, pandemic
