The volume brings together contributions in the spirit embodied by Marek J. Siemek († 2011) and Jakub Kloc-Konkołowicz († 2021), two Warsaw philosophers truly devoted to Classical German Philosophy. They were simultaneously in a relationship between thinker and adept, and thinker and thinker. They both taught philosophy, with a strong emphasis on classic German philosophy, at Warsaw University. Under the theme “Ethical Theory in Classic German Philosophy Then and Now,” students and companions continue their discussions with both of them.

A curious debate is going on about the group name of the Yoruba nation, the name ‘Yoruba’. All sorts of strange and fanciful things are being said about this name. Also, many people are calling on me to intervene in the debate. I therefore hereby intervene. But I cannot participate in the more flippant levels of debate over this or any matter; I can only make known the results of my serious research. I might add that what I reveal here is a small peep into a very important body of research on the Yoruba nation, a body of research that will, hopefully, soon appear as a book on the profile of the Yoruba nation. In modern times, the Yorùba people in Nigeria have exhibited a remarkable ́ degree and quality of unity as a people. Such strong unity is engendered primarily by their common love of, and pride in, their culture, their strong emphasis on development and modernization, and in their civilizational achievements in history and in modern times. It is also reinforced by their common identity with such ideals as love of freedom, respect for the individual, accountability of leadership and governance, the servanthood of rulers, religious tolerance and accommodation, hospitality towards all other peoples, tenacity in fighting for ideals, and a unique fixation, as a people, on progress in all facets of modern development and transformation.

Significance The three parties successfully negotiated a coalition agreement with a strong emphasis on modernising Germany’s economy. Throughout the negotiations, the parties presented a public image of stability and harmony, yet several divisive issues will test the new government's stability and effectiveness. Impacts The composition of the new government will make it harder for Berlin to win approval for the EU-China Comprehensive Investment Agreement. Chancellor Olaf Scholz will seek to prioritise more unity at the EU level when it comes to foreign policy decision-making. The spread of the Omicron variant will slow economic recovery and potentially delay the transition to a greener economy.

In the developed world, malaria is a dangerous parasite that contributes to high morbidity and mortality. The disease is variable and its clinical presence varies from extreme to complex, normal, and difficult malaria, asymptomatic malaria. Malaria pathogenesis is complex. Our current research was conducted at Mayo Hospital, Lahore from May 2019 to February 2020. Despite several clinical severities trials the disorder is still poorly known for asymptomatic malaria infection. Malaria remains a problem for asymptomatic malaria, as it has a significant impact on the dynamic of transmission. In order to develop various therapeutic results, a thorough understanding of the relationship between hosts and parasites is important. Problems and obstacles to asymptomatic malaria study and management are addressed in this study. Man and parasite are identified and methods for management and recovery are presented for differential clinical outcomes. They are exposed to disease prevention. In the context of prospective studies to create more efficient malaria prevention methods, important lacunae in the understanding of asymptomatic malaria are further illustrated. Keywords: Malaria Clinical Symptoms, Strong Emphasis, Asymptomatic Malaria.

: Today’s dynamic environment, which is developing at a rapid pace, places high demands not only on transport, but also on efficiency, speed, safety, quality and, in particular, questions about the efficiency of spending funds from city budgets, all with a strong emphasis on the environmental friendliness of urban public transport. Given that the public sector is undergoing changes, the main goal of which is to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of financial management in the public sector, cities must really always place a strong emphasis on ensuring maximum efficiency of services provided and the use of public resources in all expenditure areas of the budget. In the vast majority of cases, the financing of urban public transport currently represents the greatest burden on urban public budgets not only in the Czech Republic but also in cities in the EU. The article presents the outputs that emerged within the project “Methodological - application tools for efficiency financial management of territorial structured statutory city”. The outputs of the article are focused on the area of transport, as it is one of the key areas of the city budget and in terms of expenditure sections, transport expenditures represent the highest amount in the budget of the Statutory City of Ostrava. Geographic information systems (GIS) can be successfully used to analyse efficiency, demand and urban public transport planning. For the purpose of effective presentation of information on the state and drawing of the budget and on the effectiveness of funds spent from the budget of the statutory city and individual city districts, the R-Point web map application was created. An interactive map showing statistical indicators in the area, there are also graphs that serve the user for a better comparison of data between individual city districts and the City of Ostrava.

Despite the potential for conflict between news media’s idealised socio-political role and its practical commercial role, a qualitative content analysis of the coverage of the 2012 Libor scandal in four newspapers, The Times (London), The Financial Times, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal, revealed that these aspects of news media are in fact complementary. Although it is often argued that the commercial function of news media is prioritised over its social and political roles, the commercial aspects of the coverage of the Libor scandal did not overwhelm or significantly compromise the political watchdog role of the media. In fact, the unexpectedly large divide in coverage between the UK newspapers and the US newspapers signifies that the divide between domestic and foreign news is significantly more important than the divide between news media’s idealised socio-political role and its commercial aspects. The unexpected similarities between specialist and mainstream publications significantly contributed to this divide between domestic and foreign news. This suggests that scandals represent a unique case in which dramatic mass interest imperatives combine with critical public interest imperatives. The results of the analysis suggest that an equal fulfilment of both watchdog and newsworthiness imperatives – demonstrated by the UK press – can offer a comprehensive investigation of, and increase public concern for, issues within an international scandal. A strong emphasis on news values and construction of a personalised narrative by these newspapers enabled the scandal to attract and maintain audience attention. Their coverage also featured a strong emphasis on the morality of the scandal and used official political sources in order to inform the public of something they needed to know. In contrast, a lack of fulfilment of both watchdog and newsworthiness imperatives – demonstrated by the US press – can result in a weakening of public attention and debate about foreign issues that directly affect domestic political and economic policy. The US coverage failed to emphasise news values or construct a personalised narrative, which stripped the scandal of resonance. It failed to aggressively question the individuals involved and demand official investigations, failed to emphasise the substantive social impact, and used a limited range of sources. This resulted in the US press failing to construct a scandal frame.

This article explores the political and media discourse in The Netherlands around COVID-19 and migration. In so doing, it asks to what extent the dynamics of ‘governing COVID-19 through migration’ are visible in this discourse. By asking this question, the article builds upon the theoretical frameworks of ‘governing through crime’ and ‘governing through migration control’. Both theoretical frameworks place a strong emphasis on the role of discourse in framing certain social phenomena as a threat, concern or risk. By carrying out a discourse analysis on Dutch political and media debates around COVID-19 and migration in the period 1 January 2020–1 November 2021, the article illustrates that despite the linking of migration and crime not only being very visible but also seemingly normalized in this discourse, the links made between COVID-19 and migration were much more nuanced. Furthermore, although COVID-19 and migration were discussed together, the discourse does not show any evidence of governing COVID-19 through migration by using the pandemic to push for very restrictive migration laws targeting only ‘vagabonds’ while still allowing the mobility of ‘tourists’).
