Intraminority solidarity research has previously focused on how similarities in discrimination experiences can facilitate stigma-based solidarity. Yet, research on a lay theory of generalized prejudice has demonstrated that people tend to perceive attitudes towards stigmatized social groups as co-occurring. Integrating these lines of research, the present studies sought to examine if the extent to which prejudices are perceived to co-occur can facilitate stigma-based solidarity for marginalized social groups, and in turn promote interest in coalitional justice. Recruiting heterosexual Black Americans (Study 1), White women (Studies 2–3), and White men (Study 4), the present research demonstrates that perceiving prejudices as co-occurring increases stigma-based solidarity that in turn produces greater interest in coalitional justice efforts that include the ingroup. The present findings demonstrate the importance of focusing on beliefs about perpetrators’ attitudes when examining intraminority solidarity and highlight the limitations of a lay theory of generalized prejudice to fight prejudices broadly.

Women have been victims of gender ideology which, according to Hussein (2005), is a systemic set of cultural beliefs through which a society constructs and wields its gender relations and practices. Gender ideology contains legends, narratives and myths about what it means to be a man or a woman and suggests how each should behave in a society (Olabode, 2009). Women are a non-homogenous group as their status and roles in the society are determined by a complexity of factors such as being a daughter, sister, and wife; a cultic member; and the economic and political positions they hold in the market place and in local governance (Ilesanmi, 2013). Sub-ethnic variations were also reported in customs and practices such as a marriage and family life, pre-natal and post-natal practices and others. Men in various sub-ethnic (Yorùba) groups are given privileges in matters relating to power and control ́ in domestic and public spheres. Since culture is not static but rather dynamic, therefore contemporary writers are now advocating for portrayal that will extol women’s virtues, thereby bringing to the fore the indispensable roles women play in society. In order to redeem and recreate an enhanced status for women, studies about women abound in literary studies, with little attention given to issues of women in Adébayó ̀ Fa ̩ ́letí ’s poetry. Thus, using the feminist approach ex ́ - amines how women are portrayed in Fálétí’s poetry so as to establish his view about the womenfolk.

The paper considers the issues of improving the effectiveness of treatment of endometrial hyperplasia without atypia in women of reproductive age with the use of progestins as a pathogenetic therapy and should be personalized (targeted) taking into account the receptor sensitivity of endometrial tissue to progestins. The positive effects of progestin use are mainly due to the expression of progesterone receptors in the endometrial tissue, which must be taken into account during hormone therapy. A prospective study was performed in 60 patients of reproductive age with abnormal uterine bleeding, who according to the results of histological examination of endometrial tissue was diagnosed with endometrial hyperplasia without atypia. All patients were treated with micronized progesterone at a dose of 400 mg / day continuously for 6 months. To determine the effect of the use of progestins was performed by studying the expression of receptors for estrogen (ER) and progesterone (PR) in histological blocks of the endometrium by immunohistochemistry. In all women there was a significant expression of EP in endometrial cells, which led to its proliferative activity against the background of reduced expression of progesterone receptors by 65%, which caused no effect of therapy in 25% of women. Studies have shown that when deciding on the appointment of micronized progesterone for the treatment of endometrial hyperplasia without atypia, it is recommended to study the expression of progesterone receptors in endometrial tissue to clarify the possibility of a pharmacological effect. Treatment of endometrial hyperplasia without atypia with progesterone drugs is not effective in low expression of progesterone receptors in endometrial tissue. Based on this, we can identify a group of women with progesterone-resistant hyperplasia who require other treatments.

Today, many women work in occupational roles that had once been dominated by men (e.g., senior business executives). However, expectations on senior executives to be agentic (e.g., assertive, dominant) may conflict with prescriptive stereotypes about women to be communal (e.g., helpful, warm). According to this double-bind dilemma, female senior executives get criticized for lacking either agency or communion as both dimensions can be perceived as posing a tradeoff. We hypothesize that female senior executives report higher levels of agency and lower levels of communion than women in a more neutral role (e.g., lecturers) due to the perceived requirements of these occupational roles. In Study 1, N = 212 students rated adjectives on their desirability for men vs. women in Chinese society. They rated agentic characteristics as more desirable for men and communal characteristics as more desirable for women. Studies 2 and 3 used this material. Study 2 randomly assigned N = 207 female students to the role of a senior executive vs. lecturer. Study 3 was conducted with N = 202 female role occupants (96 senior executives, 106 lecturers). As expected, female senior executives reported higher levels of agency and lower levels of communion than female lecturers in both studies. Some women may be particularly aware of the above-mentioned double-bind dilemma and may be more worried about the potential backlash than others. They may attempt to reconcile occupational demands (i.e., higher agency, lower communion) with prescriptive gender stereotypes (i.e., lower agency, higher communion). We, therefore, explored whether fear of backlash attenuates the effect of the type of role of women (senior executives vs. lecturers) on agency and communion. Indeed, we found that senior executives who were particularly worried about backlash reported almost as much communion as lecturers did. In contrast, senior executives consistently reported higher levels of agency than lecturers regardless of their fear of backlash. The present study documents prescriptive gender stereotypes in China, how women differ as a function of their occupational roles, and how fear of backlash may motivate female senior executives to reconcile having high levels of both agency and communion.

Abstract: The study examines how Saudi young women express their aspirations through social media networks such as Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter. It focuses on four areas of interests: 1- Gender equality which includes Saudi young women’s views on equality in job opportunities and employment in government and private sectors; 2- Freedom which includes freedom of lifestyle, traveling and education; 3- Independence which includes identity and the sense of individualism; and 4- Discussion of public issues which includes the right to vote and discuss public issues in society. The survey involves high school and university young women selected randomly and purposively in four cities in Saudi Arabia. The survey results show that that young Saudi women favor social media as a means of expressing their concerns on the four issues under study. We tested the novel hypothesis that men lower in status-linked variables—that is, subjective social status and perceived mate value—are relatively disinclined to offset their high hostile sexism with high benevolent sexism. Findings revealed that mate value, but not social status, moderates the hostile–benevolent sexism link among men: Whereas men high in perceived mate value endorse hostile and benevolent sexism linearly across the attitude range, men low in mate value show curvilinear sexism, characterized by declining benevolence as hostility increases above the midpoint. Study 1 ( N = 15,205) establishes the curvilinear sexism effect and shows that it is stronger among men than women. Studies 2 ( N = 328) and 3 ( N = 471) show that the curve is stronger among men low versus high in perceived mate value, and especially if they lack a serious relationship partner (Study 3). Discussion considers the relevance of these findings for understanding misogyny.

Ovarian cancer has always entangled most women. Studies have shown that the prevalence of ovarian cancer ranks third in female reproductive malignancies, and the mortality rate has always been the highest. The reason is mainly because the diagnosis and treatment of preovarian cancer has always been a big problem. However, the emergence of laparoscopy can well solve this problem, especially laparoscopy assisted by blockchain technology, which plays a huge role in the overall staging of ovarian cancer. This article proposes the application research of laparoscopy in the comprehensive staging of ovarian cancer based on electronic medical blockchain technology. First of all, this article uses the literature method to study the clinical characteristics and surgical classification of ovarian cancer, as well as the application status of blockchain technology and laparoscopic technology. Secondly, it designed an application experiment based on electronic medical blockchain technology to assist laparoscopy in the comprehensive staging of ovarian cancer and analyzed the comparison of the laparoscopic group and the control group in the comprehensive staging of ovarian cancer. The results of the study showed that the amount of bleeding in the laparoscopic group was 103.5 ml, while the amount of bleeding in the control group was 141.1 ml; the proportion of tertiary pain in the laparoscopic group was 11.37%, and the proportion of tertiary pain in the control group was 31.82%. From this, it can be seen that, in the comprehensive staging operation for ovarian cancer, the laparoscopic group has less intraoperative blood loss than the control group and lower pain, and the treatment effect is better.

There is still a wide quality gap between State Universities (SU) and Private Universities (PU) in Indonesia. This research aims to find the strategy pattern of Nahdlatul Ulama University (NUU) in the development of quality management through gender equality-based leadership. The pattern can be seen by using qualitative phenomenological research through interviews with the informants. Data analysis is done in five stages, namely writing all transcripts of interview results, finding statements about research focus, grouping these statements into meaningful units, and constructing all explanations about the meaning and essence of the informant's experience. The results showed that NUU implemented four strategies in the development of quality management through gender equality-based leadership, namely (1) Optimization of the functions of the Center for Women Studies (CWS) and comparative studies, (2) Providing equal opportunities for female and male lecturers to develop their careers, (3) Determining leadership through selection based on specified requirements, and (4) Providing opportunities and support to women to lead. Therefore, the right person would be elected as the leadership to further develop the quality management at NUU. The findings of this study suggest that this strategy pattern can be applied to other private Islamic universities, especially at other NUUs.

The issue of ZofiaRomanowiczówna’s legacy, very important and little-known, enters the area of research both in the field of biographical, historiography and women studies. Zofia Romanowiczówna’s activity in many associations, in this case Teachers Association in Lviv and Society of Women Frugality, are not sufficiently researched. The activity she undertook can be found on the references located in Historical State Archives in Lviv and Stefanyk National Science Library. The analysis of the references of Romanowiczówna’s legacy enabled me to show the women associations in Lviv and involvement of this Lviv woman, which was deter mined by her huge patriotism and willingness to help, but also by desire to examine her involvement in the women associations in Lviv.
