This study investigated a pre-cooled turbojet engine for a Mach 5 class hypersonic transport aircraft. The engine was demonstrated under takeoff and Mach 2 flight conditions, and a Mach 5 propulsion wind tunnel test is planned. The engine is composed of a pre-cooler, a core engine, and an afterburner. The engine was tested under simulated Mach 4 conditions using an air supply facility. High-temperature air under high pressure was supplied to the engine components through an airflow control valve and an orifice flow meter, and liquid hydrogen was supplied to the pre-cooler and the core engine. The results confirmed that the starting sequence of the engine components was effective under simulated Mach 4 conditions using liquid hydrogen fuel. The pre-cooling effect caused no damage to the rotating parts of the core engine in the experiment.

Abstract This paper highlights the methods of resenting mode in the transudation with distributed parameters. The transient parameters of the power supply were analyzed. It was discovered that resonance is provided in a small range of movement of the moving component of the sensor in known turbofan engines, indicating that the known techniques of sustaining the resonance mode are flawed. Further study should focus on developing novel methods for preserving resonance mode over the entire range of change of the converted value, general principles of turbojet engine construction, and a complete examination of their resonant circuits, according to the findings.

Abstract Digital controllers are utilized for controlling modern gas turbine engines. Firstly, an identified discrete model is built for a micro turbojet engine (MTE) jet cat P200sx. Two controllers are designed, gain scheduling PID and adaptive fuzzy tuned PID controllers are presented in this paper. Analysis of traditional PID and Adaptive fuzzy tuned PID controller applied for micro turbojet engine is presented. According to the fuzzy rules, a fuzzy logic controller (FLC) is developed to modify the gains of the PID controller automatically. MATLAB/Simulink is utilized to simulate the complete device consisting of an adaptive fuzzy PID controller, and the micro turbojet engine model. The two controllers’ responses are compared. A comparison of the robustness of each controller against the effect of noise and rejection of disturbance is illustrated. The results showed that, through small rise time, small set time, minimal overshoot, and minimal SteadyState speed error, the PID controller adaptive fuzzy tuned provides better dynamic MTE action and thus superior performance.

A vibration fault identification method based on vibration state characteristics of a turbojet engine and cepstrum analysis technology was proposed in this paper, and the application of cepstrum in vibration analysis of an aero-engine was also discussed. The vibration data of the turbojet engine in three different test cases of 0.8 rated state, max power state, and afterburning state were analyzed using the cepstrum analysis method. The periodic components and the characteristics of multi-component side-frequency complex signals in the dense overtone vibration signals were separated and extracted, which reflected the sensitivity of the positions of the compressor casing and the turbine casing to the harmonic vibration components of high- and low-pressure rotors and the characteristic difference of different vibration parts. Thus, effective identification of vibration faults was achieved. The results shows that the cepstrum analysis technique applied to the vibration analysis of the turbojet engine can better identify the sideband components of the frequency domain modulated signal and enhance the recognition capability of the fault frequency component, which is helpful to identify the engine vibration fault quickly and accurately.

Purpose This study aims to investigate the aviation, energetic, exergetic, environmental, sustainability and exergoeconomic performances of a micro turbojet engine used in unmanned aerial vehicles at four different modes. Design/methodology/approach The engine data were collected from engine test cell. The engine performance calculations were performed for four different operation modes. Findings According to the results, maximum energy and exergy efficiency were acquired as 19.19% and 18.079% at Mode 4. Total cost rate was calculated as 6.757 $/h at Mode-1, which varied to 10.131 $/h at Mode-4. Exergy cost of engine power was observed as 0.249 $/MJ at Mode-1, which decreased to 0.088 $/MJ at Mode-4 after a careful exergoeconomic analysis. Originality/value The novelty of this work is the capability to serve as a guide for similar systems with a detailed approach in the thermodynamic, thermoeconomic and environmental assessments by prioritizing efficiency, fuel consumption and cost formation. This investigation intends to establish a design of the opportunities and benefits that the thermodynamic approach provides to turbojet engine systems.
