GFAP: ultra-fast and accurate gene functional annotation software for plants

Sequence alignment is the basis of gene functional annotation for unknow sequences. Selecting closely related species as the reference species should be an effective way to improve the accuracy of gene annotation for plants, compared with only based on one or some model plants. Therefore, limited species number in previous software or website is disadvantageous for plant gene annotation. Here, we collected the protein sequences of 236 plant species with known genomic information from 63 families. After that, these sequences were annotated by pfam, Gene Ontology (GO) and Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) databases to construct our databases. Furthermore, we developed the software, Gene Annotation Software for Plants (GFAP), to perform gene annotation using our databases. GFAP, an open-source software running on Windows and MacOS systems, is an efficient and network independent tool. GFAP can search the protein domain, GO and KEGG information for 43000 genes within 4 minutes. In addition, GFAP can also perform the sequence alignment, statistical analysis and drawing. GFAP contained large amount of plant-species information. We believe that it will become a powerful tool in gene annotation using closely related species for phytologists.

Pelatihan Editing Gambar dan Text menggunakan Photoshop sebagai bentuk Ekspresi Kreatifitas

Abstract- Graphic design is a form of work produced by art workers, with the development of increasingly advanced technology now can also be done by everyone, as long as they want to learn, because there are so many applications that can help someone to produce an interesting work. one of them is by using the photoshop application. Photoshop itself is one of the most popular applications today. So that the community service team provides training in the use of Photoshop applications. This service was carried out by providing video tutorials for the participants to practice directly. After this training was able to increase students' understanding by 53.72%, and students are able to express their creative ideas in editing images and text. PENGEMBANGAN VIDEO TUTORIAL TARI TRADISIONAL TERINTERNALISASI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER PADA MATA PELAJARAN SENI

Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan produk video tutorial tari tradisional terinternalisasi pendidikan karakter yang layak bagi siswa kelas X SMA Swasta Medan, serta mengetahui efektifitas produk video tutorial tari tradisional terinternalisasi pendidikan karakter terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan model penelitian penelitian dan pengembangan (R & D) dengan 50 subjek uji serta 10 orang sebagai pakar validator desain media, materi dan pembelajaran. Hasil dari penelitian ini menghasilkan produk video tutorial tari tradisional terinternalisasi pendidikan karakter yang "sangat layak" digunakan. Produk yang dikembangkan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara hasil belajar sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan produk, dimana hasil belajar setelah menggunakan multimedia lebih tinggi dari sebelum menggunakan multimedia. Selain mampu mengembangkan karakter siswa, yaitu kerjasama, toleransi dan santun. This study uses a research and development (R & D) model with 50 test subjects and 10 people as experts in media design, material and learning validators. The results of this study produce traditional dance video products internalized character education that is "very feasible" to use. Products developed show that there are significant differences between learning outcomes before and after using the product, where learning outcomes after using multimedia are higher than before using multimedia. ERA BARU KEMAS ULANG INFORMASI (KUI) SEBAGAI MEDIA PENDUKUNG PEMBELAJARAN SECARA DARING

Information repackaging aims to overcome barriers to delivering information to users. The high frequency of use of learning management system applications and online meetings has caused various obstacles in the learning process, both in terms of learning models and the costs incurred to buy internet packages. This study aims to repack the lecture material using the assistance of the Youtube and Google Sites applications to support online learning activities. The method applied is applied research in a practical form. Repackaged information is lecture material. The packaging process begins with the selection of lecture materials. Lecture materials are arranged in the form of video tutorials which are divided into several sections. The results of media transfer are stored and published on Youtube. All lecture materials on Youtube are packaged on a website using Google Sites. This study concludes that the combination of Youtube and Google Sites can produce structured and attractive information in the form of an interactive website. Repackaging information using Youtube and Google Sites has changed the paradigm that has been developing, by eliminating dependence on physical media, such as CDs, DVDs, flash drives, and other storage media for storage and packaging media.

Establishment of virtual education classes as an effort to prevent stunting in Sutera Village, Sukadana District

Sutera Village is one of the villages with a high stunting rate located in North Kayong Regency. The stunting cadres that had been formed previously were unable to carry out their duties due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Finally, the prevention model on stunting nutrition problems in the Covid-19 pandemic era was created with the idea of ​​forming virtual classes for stunting cadres through various communication applications using video. The purpose of this community service is to create educational media for cadres as an effort for stunting prevention in Sutera Village, Sukadana District, North Kayong Regency. Education model was carried out with direct learning and virtual with promotional media such as nutritional calendars, learning books, games, educational materials, stunting symptom forms, and video tutorials for monitoring child nutrition. The Wilcoxon test shows the p-value of 0.004 for the knowledge variable and 0.016 for attitude. So, it was concluded that there was an increase in knowledge and attitudes. In other words, the establishment of virtual education classes as an effort to prevent stunting in Sutera Village, Sukadana District, North Kayong Regency is effective in increasing the knowledge and attitudes of stunting cadres.

Kelayakan Media Pembelajaran Praktikum Fisika Teknik Menggunakan Video Tutorial

The Covid-19 emergency period requires the implementation of online learning, which was previously carried out offline. This condition causes engineering physics lectures to experience problems in the practical process. For this reason, the purpose of this research is to make learning media that is feasible and simple and easily accessible (YouTube) in the form of video tutorials on engineering physics practicum. The method used is R&D with ADDIE model consisting of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation and Evaluate stages. Data collection techniques using Likert scale questionnaires and analyzed using quantitative descriptive techniques. The results showed that the practicum learning this product video tutorials was declared very-suitable (VS) for use by media experts with a percentage of 92.5% and according to material experts, it was stated to be very-feasible (VF) with a percentage of 85%, and the results of user responses were stated to be VF with a percentage of 86.20%. So that online practicum applies this media is very suitable to be implemented as a physic learning media.

Mapping science: tools for bibliometric and altmetric studies

Introduction. The study investigates whether online attention, carried out on social media or by video tutorials, affects the popularity of these tools in the research community. Method. We collected data from the Web of Science, Scopus, YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, using web-scraping tools. Bibliometrics, altmetrics and webometrics were applied to process the data and to analyse Gephi, Sci2 Tool, VOSviewer, Pajek, CiteSpace and HistCite. Analysis. Statistical and network analyses, and YouTube analytics, were used. The tools’ interfaces were assessed in the preliminary stage of the comparison. The results were plotted on charts and graphs, and compared. Results. Social media and video tutorials had minimal influence on the popularity of different tools, as reflected by the number of papers within the Web of Science and Scopus where they featured. However, the small but constant growth of publications mentioning Gephi could be a result of Twitter promotion and a high number of video tutorials. The authors proposed four directions for further comparisons of science mapping software. Conclusions. This work shows that biblio- and scientometricians are not influenced by social media visibility or accessibility of video tutorials. Future research on this topic could focus on evaluating the tools, their features and usability, or the availability of workshops.

Edukasi Dan Pendampingan Penyusunan Laporan Keuangan UMKM Kuliner XYZ

This community service activity aims to provide education and assistance for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by providing an understanding of the importance of preparing financial reports and providing assistance in preparing financial reports using the SI APIK application. The method of implementing the activity is carried out in several stages, namely the first stage is planning and observation, the second stage is assistance in the preparation of financial reports using the Si APIK application, the third stage is the preparation of financial reports until August 2021, and the last stage is making video tutorials using the SI APIK application and making posters regarding the preparation of financial reports. MSME XYZ which is engaged in the culinary field is the object chosen and located in Central Java. The result of this activity is that MSME XYZ is able to make financial reports for the month of August using the Si APIK application. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mmeberikan edukasi dan pendampingan bagi usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) dengan memberikan pemahaman tentang pentingnya penyusunan laporan keuangan dan memberikan pendampingan penyusunan laporan keuangan menggunakan aplikasi SI APIK. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan dilakukan dengan beberapa tahap, yaitu tahap pertama adalah perencanaan dan observasi, tahap kedua adalah kegiatan pendampingan penyusunan laporan keuangan menggunakan aplikasi Si APIK, tahap ketiga penyusunan laporan keuangan sampai dengan bulan Agustus 2021, dan tahap terakhir adalah pembuatan video tutorial penggunaan aplikasi SI APIK dan pembuatan poster mengenai penyusunan laporan keuangan. UMKM XYZ yang bergerak dibidang kuliner merupakan obyek yang dipilih dan berlokasi di Jawa Tengah. Hasil kegiatan ini adalah bahwa UMKM XYZ mampu membuat laporan keuangan bulan Agustus dengan menggunakan aplikasi Si APIK.
