Abstract: Propellanes and derivatives have attractive properties due to their unique structure. Therefore, [3.3.3] propellanes, containing tricyclic structures with one of the carbon-carbon bonds common in three rings, were used in natural products, pharmaceutical compounds, and heterocyclic compounds, which were biologically important. The various multi-component reactions were applied in the synthesis of propellanes, which were highlighted throughout this review

The Suzuki-Miyaura coupling is extremely useful to construct Csp2-Csp2 carbon bonds. On the other hand, Csp2-Csp3 coupling reactions are do not work well, and tert-alkylative Suzuki-Miyaura coupling is particularly challenging due to problematic oxidative addition and beta-hydride elimination side reactions. In this short review, we will introduce recent examples of tert-alkylative Suzuki-Miyaura couplings with tert-alkyl electrophiles or -boron reagents. The review will mainly focus on catalyst and product structures and the proposed mechanisms .

Selective cleavage of C-C bonds forms one of the greatest challenges in current organic chemistry, due to the relative strength of these bonds. However, such transformations are an invaluable instrument to break down and construct new carbon-carbon bonds. To achieve this, photochemistry can be used as a valuable tool to generate radicals and induce the cleavage of these bonds. This review paints a picture of some of the most influential contributions in this field from the last decade.

This review summarizes the most relevant advancements made in the photocatalyzed synthesis of sulfones, thioethers and sulfonamides from 2017 to the beginning of 2021. Synthetic strategies towards the construction of sulfur-carbon bonds are discussed together with the proposed reaction mechanisms. Interestingly, sulfured-based functional groups, which are of fundamental importance for the pharmaceutical field, can be assembled by photocatalysis in an easy and straightforward way in milder reaction conditions employing less toxic and expensive sulfur sources in comparison with common strategies
