ABSTRACT Objective: to map and identify nursing diagnoses targeted at night care users in a Psychosocial Care Center according to NANDA-I Taxonomy. Method: this is a descriptive-exploratory study, of documentary research type of 319 records in medical records. It was held in a Psychosocial Care Center III in Goiás, from 2014-2018. Nursing diagnoses and records were extracted with non-standardized language. Results: 813 records of nursing diagnoses identified in 53 different titles, in 10 domains, were identified. The most frequent diagnosis was risk for self-extermination. The domain with the highest number of diagnostic records was activity/rest. There was a predominance of diagnoses focused on the problem. Final considerations: mapping contributes to the planning of evidence-based nursing interventions and to the strengthening of professional identity in mental health. It is evident the need for practices that go beyond the symptoms in a preventive perspective, with a view to comprehensiveness.

Objective. To explore the application of evidence-based nursing intervention in the treatment of advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the lung by erlotinib combined with tegafur, gimeracil, and oteracil potassium (TS-1) and its influence on quality of life (QOL). Methods. Clinical data of 92 patients with advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the lung treated with erlotinib and TS-1 in our hospital (January 2017–January 2021) were retrospectively analyzed. Forty-six patients receiving conventional nursing were set as the control group (CG), and other 46 patients receiving evidence-based nursing intervention additionally were set as the study group (SG). The clinical observation indexes of the two groups were compared and analyzed. Results. No obvious difference in general data between both groups ( P > 0.05 ). According to EORTC QLQ-C30, compared with the CG, the scores of role function, physical function, social function, cognitive function, and emotional function in the SG were remarkably higher ( P < 0.05 ). After intervention, scores of VAS of patients were obviously lower than those before intervention ( P < 0.05 ), and scores of VAS in the SG after intervention were obviously lower than those in the CG ( P < 0.05 ). After intervention, scores of SAS and SDS were lower than those before intervention, and those of the SG were obviously lower than those of the SG ( P < 0.05 ). Compared with the CG, incidences of adverse reactions such as diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting, erythra, pressure sores, and leukopenia in the SG were obviously lower ( P < 0.05 ). Compared with the CG, “very satisfied” and total satisfaction in the SG were obviously higher ( P < 0.05 ). Conclusion. Application of evidence-based nursing intervention in the treatment of advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the lung by erlotinib combined with TS-1 can help patients to relieve pain, improve their psychological state, reduce the incidence of adverse reactions, significantly improve the QOL, and also enhance the satisfaction of clinical nursing.

Systematic reviews are essential to developing evidence-based nursing practice. The JBI, formerly known as the Joanna Briggs Institute, has contributed significantly to research through technical training on reviews. Cochrane Living Systematic Reviews and Systematic Reviews of Measurement Instruments have been approaches recently used by the scientific community. The purpose of Living Systematic Reviews is to continuously update priority issues, while Systematic Reviews of Measurement Instruments condense evidence on the validity of measurement instruments. This article overviews the JBI Systematic Review approaches and provides critical information about Cochrane Living Systematic Reviews and Systematic Reviews of Measurement Instruments. The use of these new approaches is necessary to maintain the evidence-based nursing practice and advance nursing knowledge.

Stroke can affect balance. Balance is the ability to maintain the body in a balanced position both in static and dynamic conditions. However, the assessment of the existing balance is only done in a static state in stroke patients. The balance assessment describes the balance of stroke patients so that they can be written on asessment form and the transfer record and can determine the need for balance training as one of the rehabilitation of stroke patients. This EBN application aims to find out the use of Berg Balance Scale to assess the balance of both static and dynamic conditions in stroke patients. The method used is conducting PICO analysis, searching database, critical appraisal, and determining relevant journals. EBN implementation was carried out on 10 people who had a stroke in zone A on the 5th floor of Building A RSUPN Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo. This study uses the Berg Balance Scale scale in Indonesian. The analysis showed that stroke patients who experienced balance disorders were 7 people and did not experience a balance of 3 people BBS can assess the balance of stroke patients in accordance with existing evidence. BBS can be used as a balance assessment in stroke patients.
