Organizational innovation is one of the important issues for organizations in every country to adapt to changing operating environments, scientific and technological progress, and crisis issues. This study aims to evaluate the impact of transformational leadership style and employee creativity on organizational innovation in universities in Vietnam. We employed Bayesian exploratory factor analysis and Bayesian regression analysis with primary data of leader–employee pairs to explore the abovementioned effects. The findings show that the components of transformational leadership style, including idealized influence (II), inspirational motivation (IM), intellectual stimulation (IS), and individual consideration (IC), have positive impacts on organizational innovation (OI) and employee creativity (EC). The findings also imply that employee creativity (EC) is a mediating factor in the impact of transformational leadership style (TLS) on organizational innovation (OI). Finally, increasing intrinsic motivation (INM) can increase the positive impact of transformational leadership style (TLS) on employee creativity (EC). Based on the results, we propose policy implications to promote organizational innovation in Vietnamese universities in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The main problem is how the management leaders of this modern ship project can apply transformational leadership style through work-life balance and employee engagement to the ship’s crew to make their work effectiveness improved. In carrying out the ship building which takes a quite long time, do the employees can be mutually engaged and can pay equal attention to the work in this project and the work at home? This study uses quantitative method with Structural Equation Modeling. This modern ship building uses some terminologies or variables of human resources such as transformational leadership style, work-life balance, and employee engagement which, based on the research done, directly and positively affect employee’s work effectiveness. Nursing informatics competency has crucial functions in the development of a hospital and patient safety. On the basis of the theory of self-concept, there has been an inadequate study of the influence of transformational leadership on nursing informatics competency mediated by innovation self-efficacy. A descriptive correlational research design was conducted for 586 Chinese nurses from five public hospitals. The measurements were obtained from a questionnaire on transformational leadership, nursing informatics competency, innovation self-efficacy, and a sociodemographic datasheet. We identified a positive correlation between transformational leadership and nursing informatics competency. Innovation self-efficacy had a mediating effect. Managers need to provide measures to shape their transformational leadership style and promote innovation self-efficacy of nurses, which enhances nursing informatics competency of nurses.

Medical doctors may not have the necessary evidence-based knowledge of specific leadership styles to excel in a leadership role. This article explores the various leadership styles adopted by a clinical professional transitioning into a leadership role. The goal-path theory, developed by Robert House in 1971, was used as the theoretical lens for this study. Twenty peer-reviewed scientific articles, written in English and published between 2015 and 2020, were analyzed and synthesized to produce results. The results showed that employee retention was positively associated with transformational and authentic leadership styles; organizational commitment was positively related to transformational, transactional, and genuine leadership styles; and job satisfaction was positively related to transformational and authentic leadership styles. In particular, the transformational leadership style showed higher employee retention and job satisfaction rates than the transactional and non-interventional leadership styles. The original and transformative leadership styles increased job satisfaction and commitment, but the correlation between an authentic leadership style and these benefits was less clear. Clinical professionals must apply a transformational leadership style to become influential leaders.
