Abstract A Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, chemoheterotrophic bacterium, characterized with rod shape and mobility, designated as LST-1T, was isolated from wild Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni and subjected to polyphasic taxonomic analysis. The LST-1T strain grew optimally at 37 °C and pH 6.0–7.0 in the presence of 0.5 % (w/v) NaCl. Phylogenetic sequence analysis based on 16S rDNA from LST-1 indicated that it is close to Lelliottia jeotgali (99.85%), Lelliottia nimipressuralis (98.82%), and Lelliottia amnigena (98.54%). Multi-locus sequence typing analysis of concatenated partial recA, atpD, and infB was performed to improve resolution, and clear distinctions between the closest related type strains were exhibited. Meanwhile, the results from average nucleotide identify analyses and DNA–DNA hybridization with four species (16S rDNA similarity > 98.65%) were less than 90% and 40% respectively, verifying the distinct characteristics from other species of Lelliottia, The cellular fatty acid profile of the strain consisted of C16:0, Summed Feature3, and Summed Feature8 (may be 16:1 w6c/16:1 w7c and 18:1 w6c) as major components. The major polar lipids included phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylglycerol, aminophospholipid, three non-characteristic phospholipids, and a non-characteristic lipid. The genome of LST-1T is 4,611,055 bp, with a DNA G + C content of 55.02%. Combination of several phenotypic, chemotaxonomic, and genomic characteristics proved that the LST-1T strain does represent a novel genus, for which the name Lelliottia sp. LST-1 was proposed. The type strain is LST-1T (= CGMCC 1.19175T = JCM 34938T).

This article reveals the changes in form and style of the Randai performance performed by the Minangkabau’s diaspora in Malaysia. The novelty of this research is the study of changes in forms and styles in Randai carried out by the Malaysian Minangkabau diaspora. The disconnection of socio-cultural communication and the long distance between Minangkabau and Peninsular Malaysia impacts the shift in forms and styles of Randai in the Minangkabau diaspora. This research was conducted qualitatively by designing research works such as pre-field studies, by collecting preliminary data based on a diffusion approach. In the field stage, the informants were selected by snowball sampling. The interview and observation instruments were designed based on the performance structure and performance procedures. Researchers conducted data analysis using the techniques recommended by Spradley, namely: (1) domain analysis, (2) taxonomic analysis, (3) componential analysis, and (4) discovering cultural themes. The study results revealed that the forms and styles were caused by mixing cultures between the diaspora and the Malaysian Malays. These changes were done so that the local community could accept Randai. In addition, Randai can be easily learned and cultivated by the Malay Malays and easily expressed by the Malaysian community and the Minangkabau diaspora as the perpetrators of Randai. These changes occur through a process of adaptation and acculturation. The implication of this research is the emergence of a new Randai model, namely Randai, which refers to local culture, both from the aspect of the story, Silat style, and music, as an identity and tradition for the Malaysian Minangkabau diaspora for the future.

Globally, both managed and wild pollination services are unable to meet current rates of crop production and pollination demand. Wild pollination services could be improved through the reforestation of agricultural land margins, however plant–pollinator networks remain poorly understood and the collection of key floral traits a complex process. Herein, we consider the merits of pollen as a floral trait and the application of a rapid pollen comparison method in assessing whether pollen traits are conserved at a taxonomic level. Reporting the previously unstudied, pollen fingerprints of 18 Australian plant species, these are compared against the seed crop Daucus carota L. and two naturalised Brassica hybrids. Applying atmospheric solids analysis probe mass spectrometry (ASAP-MS) for rapid pollen fingerprinting, pollens are compared through non-metric multidimensional scaling (NMDS), Jaccard index correlation and hierarchical clustering. Demonstrating the merits of this analytical method for the grouping of potential revegetation flora, we identify key pollen similarities and differences that could correlate with wild pollinator preferences.

In the context of inclusive education, students with intellectual development disorders can be found very often at mainstream schools. Therefore, it is necessary to develop different models and didactic materials to help teachers deal with such students. The report attempts to compare the curriculum in Bulgarian language for Grade 4 to Bloom’s taxonomy. The ultimate goal is to achieve maximum facilitation of teachers and preparation of accessible teaching materials for students with intellectual development disorders.

This paper aims to empirically identify the characteristics and governance types of regional entrepreneurial ecosystems (EEs) associated with productive high-growth entrepreneurship (PHGE). We developed a unique database comprised of public statistics on high-growth enterprises and regional EEs in Poland over the course of 2011–2018. The Hierarchical Clustering on Principal Components and a taxonomic analysis were used to identify how different types of EE governance relate to varying levels of high-growth enterprises’ performance. We have identified and described the relationships between PHGE and diverse clusters of EE governance and evolution stages toward developed structures. Two clusters proved similarly effective in generating PHGE and they represent alternative EE governance solutions as well as the most advanced evolutionary phases. The proposed conceptualizations of productive high-growth entrepreneurship and EE governance types advance the understanding and measurement of these phenomena. The profiling and configurational approach adopted in this research reflects the heterogeneity of EE governance types and outcomes and can be further replicated in other research settings.

The development of regions within one country is an uneven process. States seek to reduce internal inequalities between particular regions through the implementation of appropriate economic policies, as is the case of Poland. The aim of the study is to evaluate the level of socio-economic development of regions in Poland (voivodships) in the years 2013– 2019. For this purpose, a taxonomic analysis based on Hellwig’s development measure was conducted and the Euclidean distance was applied to assess the difference between the obtained pattern and particular voivodships. On the basis of data provided by the Local Data Bank of Statistics Poland and through linear ordering, two rankings of voivodships were created: one reflecting their socio-economic development excluding environmental protection aspects and the other focusing solely on the issue of environmental protection. Low values of the coefficient of variation relating to a part of the analysed variables indicated that the development level of voivodships in the analysed period is in many respects very similar. The variables crucial for determining the differences between voivodships show that Mazowieckie Voivodship occupies high positions in both rankings (and is the leader in the ranking of socio-economic development excluding environmental protection aspects), while Warmińsko-Mazurskie Voivodship is characterised by a low level of development illustrated by both rankings.

Alignment-free approaches employing short k-mers as barcodes for individual genomes have created a new strategy for taxonomic analysis and paved a way for high-resolution phylogeny. Here, we introduce this strategy for the Lacticaseibacillus paracasei species as a taxon requiring barcoding support for precise systematics. Using this approach for phylotyping of L. paracasei VKM B-1144 at the genus level, we identified four L. paracasei phylogroups and found that L. casei 12A belongs to one of them, rather than to the L. casei clade. Therefore, we propose to change the specification of this strain. At the genus level we found only one relative of L. paracasei VKM B-1144 among 221 genomes, complete or available in contigs, and showed that the coding potential of the genome of this “rare” strain allows its consideration as a potential probiotic component. Four sets of published metagenomes were used to assess the dependence of L. paracasei presence in the human gut microbiome on chronic diseases, dietary changes and antibiotic treatment. Only antibiotics significantly affected their presence, and strain-specific barcoding allowed the identification of the main scenarios of the adaptive response. Thus, suggesting bacteria of this species for compensatory therapy, we also propose strain-specific barcoding for selecting optimal strains for target microbiomes.

To assess the spatial distribution of bryophyte species in Eastern Europe, more than 53,000 localities of 1296 species were analyzed in 397 squares of 100×100 km. In terms of frequency of occurrence, rare species (from 6 to 25 squares) and very rare (from 1 to 5 squares) prevail in Eastern Europe. It was shown that more than 60 % of the taxonomic diversity of bryophytes is in a threatened or close to threatened state in the region. Based on biogeographic zoning, 6 regions (alpine, arctic, boreal, nemoral, arid, subtropical) and 12 subregions were identified. The characteristics of the taxonomic diversity of bryophyte regions and subregions are given, specific species are given and the centers of concentration of bryophyte species diversity in Eastern Europe are identified. There are 162 species in only one subregion, and 68 bryophyte taxa are found in all regions and subregions. The maximum species diversity is observed in the Alpine region (1066 species), which is explained by the general nature of the biological characteristics of bryophytes, the variety of ecological conditions in this region and the presence in Eastern Europe of 4 geographically different mountain subregions: the west of the Kola Peninsula, the Urals, the Carpathians and the foothills of the Caucasus.
