Education is an important thing at this time, especially in college. One form of education is practical activities carried out to improve student experience and understanding. Things that affect student competence are the competence of laboratory assistants, practical facilities, practical worksheets  and theoretical understanding. This study was conducted to determine the magnitude of the influence of the competence of laboratory assistant practical facilities, practical jobsheets and theoretical understanding on the competence of students of Electrical Engineering Vocational Education, University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa. This study is an ex-post facto research using quantitative research methods whose data were obtained using questionnaires and tests distributed to students of Electrical Engineering Vocational Education at Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa University who did practicum and then processed using the SPSS 25.0 application with simple linear regression analysis techniques and also regression double. The results of the study showed that there was a significant effect of the laboratory assistant competency variable, while the practical facilities variable, practical worksheet and theoretical understanding did not have a significant influence on the student competency variable. Abstract This research aimed to design and develop a support system to determine the selection of recruitment, especially assistant for the Integrated ICT Laboratory at Budi Luhur University according to predetermined criteria. The method used in developing the application was the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method, which was to rank decision alternatives and accept the excellence one for several criterion cases that mixes qualitative and quantitative components in the whole assessment of available alternatives. The results showed that there were 6 (six) criteria in the selection of the Integrated ICT Laboratory Assistant, including Attendance Value, Competency Value, Project Value, Hardware Value, Interview Value, and Psychological Test Value, which were in accordance with the criteria in the Integrated ICT Laboratory at Budi Luhur University. The system can speed up the process of accepting assistants, because the calculation process, as well as printing the final score are in one system, according to the terms and criteria specified, making it more effective and efficient.

The old pattern of practicum implementation has less impact on increasing students’ science process skills and critical thinking. Therefore, implementing practicum with a semi-research pattern has been carried out by involving the lecturer and laboratory assistant. The subjects of this research were 40 students in Universitas Negeri Medan. The method is classroom action research consisting of two cycles. Each cycle includes planning, action, reflection, and evaluation. Instrument’s research is the observation sheet and essay test. The results of descriptive data analysis show that implementing practicum with a semi-research pattern can improve students’ science process critical thinking skills, especially in planning experiments by 88.3% and critical thinking skills in evaluating by 82.3%.

Purpose: This community service aimed to introduce the students of XI class of SMK Muhammadiyah 9 Jakarta Accounting Department to accounting software that has reference standards in the field of financial accounting as well as guidelines regarding tax regulations applied in Indonesia in preparing financial reports to become more manageable, effective, efficient, and accurate. Method: The method was giving lectures in the form of accounting cycle theory and practicum methods, in which participants practice the use of accounting software, namely Zahir Accounting version 5.1, through a briefing from the instructor assisted by the Computer Laboratory Assistant and Secretarial Student Assistant from the Budi Luhur Academy of Secretary. Results: The results showed that the training participants could easily use Zahir Accounting and compile financial reports effectively and accurately. Prior to this, the students did know Zahir Accounting software. Conclusion: The results of this activity impact the teaching and learning process in partner places, namely, by using Zahir Accounting software to replace MYOB Accounting, which is included in the school curriculum. The article is devoted to the main stages of life and activity of Professor Artur Martinovich Kanger (1875-1960) – pharmacist, forensic chemist, criminologist and teacher. The main attention is paid to his work as an assistant to the head of the Cabinet of Scientific and Forensic Expertise under the Prosecutor of the Odesa Court Chamber. Working in this institution for eight years (1914-1922), he held the position of assistant manager of the Cabinet, and in recent years headed the Forensic Department. He has hundreds of chemical expertise, including studies of explosives, gunpowder, poisons, etc. In addition, chemical methods were used in the study of handwriting and ink research, forgery of documents made by mechanically. In particular, during 1922, Professor A. M. Kanger and his closest assistant laboratory assistant Shettle I. H. conducted 215 chemical examinations. In most cases, chemical analysis methods were used in the research. However, in addition to this method, others were used: microscopic analysis, physical methods (for example, determination of specific gravity) and photographic methods. It is noteworthy that a significant part fell on the study of objects that were material evidence in cases of counterfeiting paper banknotes. Along with work at the Odesa Cabinet of Scientific and Forensic Expertise, Professor A. M. Kanger was a rector of Odesa Institute of Chemical and Pharmaceuticals (1921-1922) and at the same time headed the Department of Pharmaceutical and Forensic Chemistry. At the beginning of 1923 Arthur Martynovych Kanger together with his wife and young son went to Riga. Working in scientific and educational institutions, he made a significant contribution to the formation of the state system of scientific and forensic exspertise in Latvia and contributed to the development of criminalistics in the German Democratic Republic (GDR).

Abstrak: Laboratorium merupakan salah satu prasarana yang perlu ada pada bidang pendidikan mulai dari tingkat menengah atas hingga perguruan tinggi. berupa ruangan untuk melakukan pembelajaran berbasis praktikum.  Peralatan yang ada pada laboratorium bisa saja sangat banyak, dan tidak terdata dengan baik maka diperlukan suatu pengelolaan yang bisa memberikan informasi peralatan apa saja yang ada dan yang dibutuhkan setiap laboran. Pengelolaan ini berguna untuk menampilkan data peralatan yang ada. Melihat permasalahan tersebut muncul gagasan yaitu membangun suatu sistem pengelolaan aset yang terdapat pada Laboratorium berbasis web yang dapat mengelola pendataan perangkat serta peminjaman terhadap perangkat alat-alat praktikum jaringan Universitas Bina Insani. Metode pengembangan yang digunakan dalam pembuatan aplikasi ini adalah metodologi RAD (Rapid Application Development). Tahapannya terdiri dari perencanaan syarat-syarat, Worksop Desain RAD, serta implementation. Bahasa pemrograman yang akan digunakan adalah Hypertext Prepocessor (PHP) dengan framework Laravel. Untuk tampilan web menggunakan framework Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) bootstarp. Perancangan database menggunakan adalah MySQL. Hasil yang diharapkan dari penelitian ini adalah adanya sistem informasi pengelolaan aset yang dapat memberikan informasi antara jumlah barang yang berada pada laboratorium dengan catatan yang tersimpan yang akan lebih akurat, proses pencatatan akan menjadi rapih dan mengurangi terjadinya kehilangan data karena data tersimpan dalam bentuk file, mencari data akan jauh lebih efektif dan efisien, pemanfaatan framework laravel dapat memudahkan bagi admin dalam mengelola aplikasi dengan mudah.   Kata kunci: Laboratorium, Sistem, Laravel, Pengolalaan Aset, Website   Abstract: The laboratory is one of the infrastructures that need to exist in the field of education starting from high school to higher education. in the form of a room for practicum-based learning. There can be a lot of equipment in the laboratory, and it is not well recorded, so a management is needed that can provide information on what equipment is there and what is needed by each laboratory assistant. This management is useful for displaying existing equipment data. Seeing this problem, an idea emerged, namely to build an asset management system contained in a web-based laboratory that can manage data collection on devices as well as lending to the Bina Insani University network practicum tools. The development method used in making this application is the RAD (Rapid Application Development) methodology. The stages consist of planning requirements, RAD Design Worksop, and implementation. The programming language to be used is the Hypertext Prepocessor (PHP) with the Laravel framework. For web display using Bootstarp Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) framework. Database design using is MySQL. The expected result of this research is that there is an asset management information system that can provide information between the number of items in the laboratory and stored records that will be more accurate, the recording process will be neat and reduce the occurrence of data loss because the data is stored in the form of files, searching for data will be much more effective and efficient, utilization of the laravel framework can make it easier for admins to manage applications easily.   Keywords: Laboratory, System, Asset Management, Laravel, Website

Practical activities are the main activities of learning biology whose implementation is rarely evaluated. This study aimed to determine the quality of biology practicum which includes planning and implementation of biology practicum and student learning outcomes thereafter. The population in this study was students, teachers and and laboratory assistant in Junior High School (JHS) 2 Ngemplak, Indonesia. Purposive sampling was used as sampling technique, in which the sample were 93 students of class VIII A to VIII C, 1 teachers and 1 laboratory assistant. The instruments used in this study were observation sheets. The evaluation criteria were adjusted based on the Regulation of the Minister of National Education. Data were analyzed descriptively and qualitatively. The results inform that the planning and implementation of biology practicum activities were in good categories. In addition, student learning outcomes have also exceeded the minimum completeness score. The results of this study indicate the importance of practicum activities and their contribution to biology learning outcomes. Therefore, the implementation of practicum is highly recommended to be optimized in other schools.Biology science practicum learning: An evaluation study in junior high school of Ngemplak-Indonesia

The laboratory has an important role in the teaching and learning process. The laboratory with all its materials and equipments is a place that has the potential to cause danger for humans and the environment. Laboratory safety and security management are the responsibility of both the laboratory assistant and laboratory user. Based on the initial survey, the school already has a science laboratory but the tools and materials are poorly organized and poorly administered. The method used in this community service were socialization about the organization and administration of laboratory, socialization about safety and security laboratories related to the management of laboratory equipments and materials, demonstration and evaluation. In general, this community service activity ran successfully as planned. Participants in the activity were very enthusiastic and actively participated during the activity. Based on evaluation results, it was known that students' knowledge about laboratory safety and security has increased after participating in this community service.

This study aims to provide solutions for the problems of understanding in work safety at biology laboratory material by developing learning resources in the form of biology magazines work safety material in biology laboratory for 11th Proffesional High School On 4 Muaro Jambi. The type of this research is development research with ADDIE model. This research was conducted at kelas XI Pertanian SMK Negeri 4 Muaro Jambi. The research data was taken on January 2nd 2019 and obtained by giving a questionnaire to the media expert validator, material expert validator, a small group consisting of 6 students, a large group consisting of 19 students, a teacher of biological studies and a laboratory assistant. The results of the study show that the product is feasible to be used as learning resources. This is indicated by the results of the media validation process and the material carried out 3 times continues to increase. The percentage of stage I media validation was 60% and material validation was 61.25% in the 'not good' category, then increase in the second stage, media validation was 75% and material validation was 66.25% in the 'good' category and finally in stage III media validation was 95% and material validation was 88.75% in the 'very good' category. The results of the assessment by biology teachers with percentage of 97.5% in the 'very good' category. The results of the assessment by a laboratory assistant with percentage of 92.5% in the 'very good' category. Student trial in small groups get a percentage of 79.1% in the 'Good' category and the trials of students in large groups get a percentage of 84.8% in the 'very good' category.
