The article deals with the problem of estimating the rational number and utilization rate of the vehicles' fleet. According to the analysis results of the state-of-the-art literature it has been revealed that the issue of substantiating the rational fleet size and the rate of its utilization were not fully solved. The purpose of the study was to increase the efficiency of servicing transportation orders by determining the required number of vehicles. The goal of the research was the influence of the transportation process parameters on the truck utilization rate. Originating from the probabilistic nature of the transportation process, it has been proposed to use the AnyLogic software product to develop a simulation model for vehicle orders' servicing. From the processing of the experimental results by the regression analysis methods, it has been found that the dependence of changes in the vehicle utilization rate is of a linear form.

The road network constitutes the main part of the transport system for both passenger and freight traffic. Achieving a sustainable road transport system including multimodal terminals, autonomous vehicles, intelligent transport systems, infrastructure are considered to be important design areas. The efficient use of the transport system is essential in terms of economic, environmental and social sustainability. Therefore, it is necessary to develop methods for optimizing the transportation process

In the context of growing competition between rail transport and other transport types, there is a need to improve the transportation process. In modern conditions, railway transport is the main link in the logistics chain of moving goods from the shipper to the receiver. The efficiency of the railway transport complex can be improved by using logistics principles in the organization of local work on the network sections. In this study, we suggest ways to solve the problem of improving the quality of service for freight owners and the efficiency of organizing local work, which is relevant for railways. To make decisions aimed at improving the efficiency of the organization of local work, a procedure for determining the costs of organizing and promoting local trains was developed, taking into account the costs on maintaining the railway infrastructure. Not only the operational activity of the railways, but also the quality of transport customers service, compliance with the regulatory deadlines for cargo delivery, depends on the choice of the optimal option for organizing local car traffic into trains and their promotion along the section. The option is selected by comparing the costs for each of the possible options for organizing local car traffic into trains and moving them along the section.

This paper presents a floating transportation equipment (FTE) for the negative pressure suction bucket foundation (NPSBF) of offshore wind turbines, and the basic design and main transportation means are introduced. The hydrodynamic characteristics of integrated FTE-NPSBF structure are comprehensively studied. The ability of FTE as a transportation aid to provide stability for the NPSBF is verified, and the vibration reduction measures under the condition of wave resonance during the floating transportation process are given.

Aim. The availability of transportation infrastructure facilities affects the quality of the transportation services provided by JSC RZD. At the same time, this effect may significantly differ depending on the operating conditions of the transportation infrastructure or a specific railway line and can cause various degrees of risk of damage to the transportation process. Such risks are defined as risks of train-hour losses due to transportation infrastructure failures. Planning dependability management activities under conditions of scarce resources requires targeted identification of the transportation infrastructure facilities whose availability most significantly affects the magnitude of the risks of damage to the transportation process. The aim of the paper is to develop a method for evaluating daily availability and identifying its correlation with the risk of train-hour losses. Methods. The authors used the methods of risk management, probability theory and mathematical statistics, correlation and regression analysis. Results. The paper suggests representing the daily availability indicator of JSC RZD’s transportation infrastructure facilities as a two-parameter gamma distribution and describing its effect on the risks of the transportation process with a regression model. Conclusions. The paper’s findings can be used as part of transportation infrastructure dependability planning and targeted allocation of resources, as well as for substantiating the dependability indicator when evaluating the practical capacity of railway lines and utilization ratio and in a number of other operational tasks.

Reverse distribution operations have become significant to the manufacturers in supporting the firms to achieve the circularity of products in the reverse flow chains. There are four main components of the reverse distribution chains; inbound and outbound transportation, collection of returns, centralised returns centres, and recovery process. Transport is essential by reducing the lead time and transportation cost of the used and the recovered products. Therefore, it is pertinent that the manufacturers continue endeavouring for the sustainable transportation process in each of the components to ensure the success of the reverse distribution chains.

A drone is a fast-growing technology that has been used in many applications in the world. The drone also is a new solution for the transportation process in the agricultural sector. The primary purpose of this project is to explore the potential of drone or Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) to reduce the dependence on fossil-fueled vehicles to transport the crops within the farm and from the farm to the seller. The use of drones will create lower emission of carbon dioxide and toxic gases that are usually generated by fossil-fueled vehicles. Besides, this research is also essential to reduce the health issues that currently appear from agriculture activities. The objective of this project is to determine the parameters to design a suitable drone for transportation in the agricultural sector. In addition, the design of the drone must be able to carry a maximum of 10 kg of payload, which can be analyzed by simulation and analysis. The simulation and analysis are performed by SolidWorks software. The conceptual design of the drone is proposed by following the George E. Dieter model of the design process. In addition, a simulation on the strength of the drone components and analysis on the thrust of the motor have been conducted to verify the proposed drone design concept based on the determined parameters. The cost estimation of the drone is about RM17683.65 and the overall weight is 26.823 kg. In conclusion, the drone design concept for transportation in the agricultural sector is proposed as a preliminary study for future works.

This research is motivated by the need to ensure the availability of Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) in a timely manner and in fresh condition, if must be supported by the availability of other resources such as labor, harvesting equipment and tranportation vehicles. The purpose of this study was compre the needs and realization of the number of vehicles transporting FFB PT. Tritunggal Sentra Buana. The method used in this research is a field survey. Field survey conducted to collect data related to field conditions. This research data uses primary data and secondary data. Primary data in the from of calibration from and the result of the calculation of the need for FFB units and secondary, data in the form of production data and FFB transportation data. The availability of FFB transporting vehicles has met the needs of earch afdeling having 3 units of vehicles. The number of unit needed per day for branch 1 and departement 2 is2 units per day. At PT. Tritunggal Sentra Buana has 19 units of FFB transporting vehicles, each of which smoothness of the FFB transportation process is road conditions and road maintenance. At PT. Tritunggal Sentra Buana routinely carries out road maintenance such as hardening the nets that the unit passes throught and pruning the fronds.

Abstract This article has taken into account the importance of international corridors in Central Asia, and has provided data on the importance of rail transport in the state economy and the efficiency of projects when developing railways. The weakness and lack of import and export logistics functions in the hinterland regions creates a bottleneck that limits the development of the external economy and trade. Identification of development paths using the example of the Akhangaran-Tukimachi-Syrdarya line based on modelling of carrying capacity and comparison with the actual freight flow for rational regulation and rationing of train throughput. The method of approximation has been applied to forecast the dynamics of capacity and throughput growth on the line in question. A forecasting model was developed that corresponds to the nature of changes in the trend of the freight traffic under study. It will allow to foresee difficulties in the transportation process, to work out the line development stages to improve the carrying capacity of hauls, to plan the work of reloading stations correctly and to organise the rational use of railway transport means. As an example, the Akhangaran - Tukimachi - Syrdarya line is the main transit direction which affects all the work of the railway of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Improvement of the line for passing transit and local freight flows will improve the competitiveness of the railway in freight transportation.
