Great practical significance and engineering application value can be achieved when the large amount of discharged soil produced by EPB shield tunnels is recycled and comprehensively utilized. As one of the key processes of shield construction, synchronous grouting needs a large amount of bentonite, cement, fly ash, sand, and other materials. The research on the reuse of shield muck as synchronous grouting material is carried out based on Zhengzhou subway project. The physical properties and phase of the discharged soil from EPB shield tunnels are studied by using laboratory tests and XRD. The statistics show that the shield muck meets the performance requirements of bentonite and fine sand in synchronous grouting materials. The optimal grout ratio of the reused muck is obtained based on the optimization idea of multiobjective programming by MATLAB. Considering the combined effect of seepage field, stress field, and the timeliness of the grout, the influences of grouting pressure and the filling rate of synchronous grouting on surface settlement, plastic zone of strata, and segment deformation are analyzed by using finite difference method. The results prove that the surface settlement and segment deformation can be better controlled when the grouting pressure is at 0.18 MPa and the grouting rate is at 120%–150%.

In the present study, based on previous research results, a finite element method that considered the grouting pressure and displacement control of the tube-soil side friction coefficients was established for the purpose of estimating the jacking forces of large sections of rectangular pipe jacking. Furthermore, the pipe jacking project of Zhong-Zhou Avenue was taken as an example in this study, in which the rectangular pipe jacking models A1 and B1 under silty clay geological conditions were established. The two estimation models were verified using the pipe jacking cases A2 and B2, respectively. The estimation model can effectively estimate the jacking force, and the rectangular jacking force is distributed as a logarithmic function with the jacking distance. The shallow buried rectangular pipe jacking has some common characteristics in buried depth, grouting pressure, the length-width ratio of outer diameter, construction geological conditions, and so on. The main independent factors that affect the jacking force are the buried depth and the outer perimeter of the jacking pipe. Based on the numerical model of case A1 and case B1, the logarithmic functions of jacking force of case A1 and case B1 with jacking distance were obtained by changing the buried depth. The calculation formula of the jacking force can reflect the variation law of the jacking force to some extent.

Abstract In order to realize the directional and controllable splitting of splitting grouting, the field grouting test was carried out. Using a new grouting pipe designed, the splitting direction and size of the branch vein are effectively controlled through the control of grouting pressure and grouting amount. In order to explore the bearing characteristics of split grouting pile and provide necessary parameters for the design of split grouting pile composite foundation in engineering practice, the field static load test and indoor geotechnical test of split grouting pile are designed, and the ultimate bearing capacity of single pile and necessary soil parameters are obtained. In order to make up for the limitations of field static load test, the three-dimensional finite element model of pile, soil and branch vein of split grouting pile is established by using the finite element analysis software ABAQUS. The finite element analysis results are compared with the measured values of field test, and the variation laws of pile shaft axial force, stress and displacement of branch vein at different depths, pile side friction, etc. are further explored, Through these changes, the interaction and load transfer mechanism between pile and soil are analyzed, which provides a reference for optimal design.

Abstract Taking the foundation settlement accident of a large heating boiler foundation in a city in collapsible loess area as an example, controllable splitting grouting can be achieved by controlling the grouting pressure, grouting pipe opening form, grouting volume and grouting method etc., so as to stabilize foundation settlement and improve foundation bearing capacity, for the boiler with large uneven settlement, for boilers with large uneven settlement, quicklime piles are used to jack up the foundation after splitting grouting to stabilize the foundation, the foundation is lifted with quicklime piles after splitting grouting to stabilize the foundation. The results show that the grouting amount of soil is within the design range, the grout splits in the soil several times to form a slurry vein, the settlement is stable after boiler reinforcement, the quicklime method can jack up the foundation and reduce the uneven settlement of the foundation, and the use of controllable splitting grouting can basically eliminate the slight collapsibility grade loess, which provides a new idea for solving the similar problem of uneven settlement of collapsible loess foundation buildings.

The traditional bored pile technology has some arduous problems, such as the sediment at the pile tip, the mud skin along the pile shaft, and the stress release due to borehole construction. The post-grouted technology at the pile tip of bored pile has emerged because of demand. The grouting migration height (GMH) is of great significance to the strengthen and reinforcement of the pile foundation. This paper derives the calculation formula of the GMH based on the theory of the column hole expansion and Herschel-Bulkley model. The influence of relevant parameters on the GMH is discussed. Aiming at the problem of the grouting migration along the pile shaft in layered soils, the iterative calculation method of the GMH is proposed. The correctness of the GMH is verified by an engineering case, which can guide the engineering practice. The result shows that the GMH increases with the increase of the grouting pressure, the pile diameter and the thickness of the mud skin, and the grouting pressure is positively correlated with the GMH. The GMH decreases with the increase of the buried depth, the consistency coefficient and the rheological index. On this basis, the correctness of the GMH is verified by an engineering case.

Grouting is an effective technical way for the construction of deep tunnels in unfavorable geological conditions. The fluid-solid-chemical coupling mechanism of grouting process is analyzed from the following three aspects: influence of physical properties of silica sol on permeability coefficient, dynamic changes of porosity and permeability of geotechnical media with seepage pressure, and governing equations for flow and mass transfer characteristics. A dynamically changing model for nanosilica sol grouting in deep tunnels is established, considering the changing physical properties of grout and surrounding rock. Based on the Xianglushan Tunnel of Yunnan Water Diversion Project, the temporal and spatial evolution of silica sol grout is studied. The effect characteristics of grouting pressure and initial permeability are clarified. The rationality of this model is verified by classical Newtonian fluid grouting theory. The main conclusions: with the molar concentration as the index, the grout range can be divided into the raw grout region and the transition region; with the decrease of the grouting pressure, the growth rate of the normal grouting radius and the axial grouting radius will gradually decrease; due to the mechanical dispersion and molecular diffusion, the range of the transition region will gradually increase with time. The ratio of the transition region to grouting radius fluctuates slightly with time under the initial permeability of 5 D. The fluctuation increases with the decrease of initial permeability, and the average ratio increases with the decrease of grouting pressure. This study can provide theoretical guidance for grouting design of deep tunnel engineering.

Three-dimensional finite difference calculations are proposed to investigate the influence of operation parameters of the shield machines during twin stacked tunnel excavation on the surface settlements. The numerical model is validated by experimental data obtained from Hochiminh’s metro line 1 project, used as a reference case in this study. The parametric study focuses on the influence of the face support pressure, the grouting pressure, and the shield’s length. The numerical results indicated that a decrease does not always follow an increase in surface settlements' face and grouting pressure. A shorter shield machine causes smaller surface settlements to develop over single lower and twin stacked tunnels.
