In many pharmacopoeias, the limit test used for determining the level of aluminum in citric acid labeled for use in the manufacture of dialysate, is based on solvent extraction using 8-hydroxyquinoline and measurement of fluorescence. However, the fluorescence intensity (F.I.) readout from the extract of citric acid samples has been found to be highly dubious, showing low value, and even lower than that of a blank solution. The aim of this work therefore was to examine what effects the matrix has on the test. The comparison of the two standard curves of aluminum solutions in water, against those prepared in citric acid solutions revealed that they differed greatly in terms of slope and y-intercept. In addition, the F.I. values on the plot of the citric acid solution were much lower than that prepared in the water. In another experiment, a decrease in the F.I. of aluminum solution was clearly seen when the co-existing concentration of citric acid was increased. The results inferred that citric acid interfered with the test due to its acidity and metal-chelating capabilities. Based on this evidence, the pharmacopeial limit test for aluminum in citric acid should be revised; otherwise, it could yield results that underestimate aluminum levels and lead to inaccurate conclusions

Abstract This study analyses the physical characteristics of demolition waste on the composite landfill liner. In this study, three characteristic composite landfill liner tests consist of swelling/specific gravity, OMC standard proctor determination, and atterberg limit test. Composite landfill liner consists of demolition material, bentonite, and lime with eight variable samples. Based on this research, specific gravity ranges from 1.8-2.1 g/cm3, OMC’s highest is V7, and MDD’s lowest is 1.81 g/cm3. Demolition waste content is below 80% can be carried out atterberg limit test. It is related to the particle size distribution test, which states that the size of demolition waste is a type of sand.

Poverty is still a problem in Indonesia's economy. From the colonial period to 75 years of independence, around 27.55 million people still live below the poverty line. This paper tries to examine the impact of Indonesia's macroeconomic variables as proxied by Economic Growth (GDPG), Inward FDI (FDI), Unemployment (UNM), Inflation (IN), Exports (EXP), Imports (IMP) on Indonesia's absolute poverty (POVY) with using annual data from 1979-2020. This study emphasizes economic growth as the primary variable. At the same time, other independent variables are used as control variables. The method in this study uses Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) and applies bounds testing approach to measuring the long-term relationship between the independent and dependent variables. The cointegration limit test shows that there is long-term cointegration between macroeconomic impacts on poverty in Indonesia. The short-term and long-term ARDL models show that all independent variables have a significant relationship with poverty in Indonesia.

Abstract: In the project report, an attempt is made to design a road, based on the principles of pavement design and cost analysis of y two methods (Group Indexed and CBR Method). On the existing alignment of the road, soil samples are collected for the determination of soil characteristics like consistency limits, sieve analysis, C.B.R. values etc. Based on this the thickness of the pavement (flexible) is designed. The alignment of the road is also designed and fixed by surveying and leveling. The total road length being 497 meters of which, one section is 247m, other is 200m and the third section is 50m. The site selected for this study is of village road near Korba, Korba district of Chhattisgarh, India. Introduction: Eleutherine bulbosa Urb is a plant species with medicinal properties, including anti-inflammatory, widely relied upon in traditional practices. For this reason, the present research was intended to assess and, thus, ensure the safety of this plant for conventional medicinal purposes using a toxicity test study. Methods: The acute toxicity test of the ethanolic extract of E. bulbosa Urb (EEEB) used the method adopted from the Organization Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) guidelines 425 for testing Wistar rats. Results: During 14 days of the acute toxicity study, there were no significant changes in rat weight, no mortality, and no signs of toxicity after the oral EEEB administration at 2000 mg/kg body weight (bw). The limit test showed that the LD50 of EEEB was higher than 2000 mg/kg bw. Conclusion: EEEB has low toxicity because its LD50 is higher than the limit test results.

El sector agrícola, que tiene una amplia gama de efectos económicos y sociales, tiene una importancia estratégica debido a la renta nacional, el empleo, los gastos de consumo, el suministro de materias primas a otros sectores y su participación en las exportaciones. En este contexto, este documento revisa el debate sobre el papel de la agricultura en la promoción del crecimiento económico en una selección de países agrícolas seleccionados. Este estudio analiza los vínculos entre las variables agrícolas y el crecimiento del producto interno bruto con la ayuda de la prueba de cointegración, el enfoque Autoregressive Distributed Lag Limit Test (ARDL) para el período relevante, Augmented Dicky Fuller (ADF) y PP test (PMG). Los resultados muestran que el aumento sostenible de la renta agrícola cambia positivamente la renta nacional y es la fuerza impulsora del crecimiento; Se encontraron pruebas contundentes que muestran que el aumento de la mano de obra agrícola disminuye el ingreso nacional a largo plazo. Esta fuerte evidencia apoya la hipótesis de crecimiento agrícola que muestra que; En los últimos años, las discusiones sobre la relación entre el concepto de crecimiento sostenible y la política agrícola se han vuelto más prominentes. Por ello, se recomienda que cada vez más países contribuyan a resolver los problemas del crecimiento económico siguiendo y aplicando métodos de productividad agrícola.

D406A steel is a medium-carbon low-alloy steel, which has excellent comprehensive mechanical properties. It is widely used in the production of missiles and rocket barrels. In this paper, the spinning forming limit test and the intermediate heat treatment process of ultra-high-strength steel were used to explore the effect of spinning process and heat treatment on the properties of spinning parts. The research results showed that the reduction amount of the material made the material thinning rate approach the limit thinning rate. The final blank wall thickness was reduced from 15 mm to 3.0 mm when the cracking occurred. It was calculated that the material's power spinning limit thinning rate was 80%. The ferrite matrix after spinning showed a streamline distribution characteristic perpendicular to the thinning direction, and the precipitated carbides were uniformly distributed on the surface of the matrix, which had the characteristics of deformation and extension along the streamline. After the heat treatment, the structure of the spinning parts changed continuously. When the structure was quenched and tempered, the martensitic structure can be obtained, and the tempered martensitic structure was smaller. Furthermore a test piece for ultra-high-strength steel spinning technology has been developed, and the solutions discussed for flanging defects in the actual spinning process, and test data for the actual production of ultra-high-strength steel spinning parts accumulated.

This study intended to address the problem of damaged (collapsed, cracked and decreased soil strength) road pavement structure built on clay soil due to clay soil properties such as low shear strength, high soil compressibility, low soil permeability, low soil strength, and high soil plasticity. Previous research reported that ground granulated blast slag (GGBS) and fly ash can be used for clay soil stabilizations, but the results of past research indicate that the road pavement construction standards remained unfulfilled, especially in terms of clay’s subgrade soil. Due to this reason, this study is carried out to further investigate soil stabilization using GGBS and fly ash-based geopolymer processes. This study investigates the effects of GGBS and ratios of fly ash (solid) to alkaline activator (liquid) of 1:1, 1.5:1, 2:1, 2.5:1, and 3:1, cured for 1 and 7 days. The molarity of sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and the ratio of sodium silicate (Na2SiO3) to sodium hydroxide (NaOH) was fixed at 10 molar and 2.0 weight ratio. The mechanical properties of the soil stabilization based geopolymer process were tested using an unconfined compression test, while the characterization of soil stabilization was investigated using the plastic limit test, liquid limit test, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR). The results showed that the highest strength obtained was 3.15 MPA with a GGBS to alkaline activator ratio of 1.5 and Na2SiO3 to NaOH ratio of 2.0 at 7 days curing time. These findings are useful in enhancing knowledge in the field of soil stabilization-based geopolymer, especially for applications in pavement construction. In addition, it can be used as a reference for academicians, civil engineers, and geotechnical engineers.

Among the most commonly specified tests in the geotechnical engineering industry, the liquid limit and plastic limit tests are principally used for (i) deducing useful design parameter values from existing correlations with these consistency limits and (ii) for classifying fine-grained soils, typically employing the Casagrande-style plasticity chart. This updated state-of-the-art review paper gives a comprehensive presentation of salient latest research and understanding of soil consistency limits determinations/measurement, elaborating concisely on the many standardized and proposed experimental testing approaches, their various fundamental aspects and possibly pitfalls, as well as some very recent alternative proposals for consistency limits determinations. Specific attention is given to fall cone testing methods advocated (but totally unsuitable) for plastic limit determination; that is, the water content at the plastic–brittle transition point, as defined using the hand rolling of threads method. A framework (utilizing strength-based fall cone-derived parameters) appropriate for correlating shear strength variation with water content over the conventional plastic range is presented. This paper then describes two new fine-grained soil classification system advancements (charts) that do not rely on the thread-rolling plastic limit test, known to have high operator variability, and concludes by discussing alternative and emerging proposals for consistency limits determinations and fine-grained soil classification.
