Most of the coil designs for wireless power transfer (WPT) systems have been developed based on the “single transmitter to a single receiver (S-S)” WPT systems by the empirical design approaches, partial domain searches, and shape optimization methods. Recently, the layout optimizations of the receiver coil for S-S WPT systems have been developed using gradient-based optimization, fixed-grid (FG) representation, and smooth boundary (SB) representation. In this paper, the new design optimization of the transmitter module for the “single transmitter to multiple receivers (S-M)” WPT system with the resonance optimization for the S-M WPT system is proposed to extremize the total power transfer efficiency while satisfying the load voltage (i.e., rated power) required by each receiver and the total mass used for the transmitter coil. The proposed method was applied to an application model (e.g., S-M WPT systems with two receiver modules). Using the sensitivity of design variables with respect to the objective function (i.e., total power transfer efficiency) and constraint functions (i.e., load voltage of each receiver module and transmitter coil mass) at each iteration of the optimization process, the proposed method determines the optimal transmitter module that can maximize the total power transfer efficiency while several constraints are satisfied. Finally, the optimized transmitter module for the S-M WPT system was demonstrated through comparison with experiments under the same conditions as the simulation environment.

The article presents a proposal to reduce energy consumption in a hydraulic system with a single pump and multiple receivers. The proposed Load-Sensing Basic (LSB) solution consists of expanding a typical hydraulic system by using additional logic valves and a dedicated differential valve. The modification is aimed at decrease in operating pressure and, thus, reduction in energy consumption. The LSB system is compact as all components are built on a single ISO plate. A detailed mathematical model of the system was formulated, then a simulation model was built and numerical tests were carried out in the Matlab/Simulink environment. The obtained results indicate that the use of the proposed LSB system for the implementation of typical working cycles with three actuators may reduce energy consumption by 4–30%, and under certain conditions even up to 70%.

Multiple objective function with beamforming techniques by algorithms have been studied for the Simultaneous Wireless Information and Power Transfer (SWIPT) technology at millimeter wave. Using the feed length to adjust the phase for different objects of SWIPT with Bit Error Rate (BER) and Harvesting Power (HP) are investigated in the broadband communication. Symmetrical antenna array is useful for omni bearing beamforming adjustment with multiple receivers. Self-Adaptive Dynamic Differential Evolution (SADDE) and Asynchronous Particle Swarm Optimization (APSO) are used to optimize the feed length of the antenna array. Two different object functions are proposed in the paper. The first one is the weighting factor multiplying the constraint BER and HP plus HP. The second one is the constraint BER multiplying HP. Simulations show that the first object function is capable of optimizing the total harvesting power under the BER constraint and APSO can quickly converges quicker than SADDE. However, the weighting for the final object function requires a pretest in advance, whereas the second object function does not need to set the weighting case by case and the searching is more efficient than the first one. From the numerical results, the proposed criterion can achieve the SWIPT requirement. Thus, we can use the novel proposed criterion (the second criterion) to optimize the SWIPT problem without testing the weighting case by case.
