Abstract Farmers in Landak Regency more frequently face uncertainty and risk of rice farming failure. Therefore, a program that can protect the farmers from the risk is required. Rice farming business insurance (AUTP) is an alternative to overcome the risk of loss due to crop failures. The limited information and knowledge of farmers regarding the AUTP have led to different perceptions among farmers and have affected the farmers’ enthusiasm to become the insurance participants. This research aimed to analyse the farmers’ perceptions of the AUTP program and its implementation mechanisms in Sengah Temila Subdistrict, Landak Regency. A descriptive method with Likert scale was used to analyse the farmers’ perceptions. The research results show that the farmers’ perceptions are at high category with the total score of 3048, indicating that they agree with the AUTP; the highest indicator (195) was that the program objective is protecting the farmers from crop failures, and the lowest indicator (153) was that the program gets success when the farmers agree to pay the insurance premium fully. In general, the implementation of the AUTP in Landak Regency was in accordance with the 2018 AUTP Premium Assistance Guidelines.

Branchless Banking is one of the programs of Indonesia's financial inclusion strategy. The programs' name is "Financial Service Without Office in the Framework of Inclusive Financial" which called “Laku Pandai.” This study aims to portrait the implementation of the Branchless Banking program concerning the obstacles that occurred to achieve program objectives. The research conducted using qualitative methods. The existence of Branchless Banking agents close to the community has fulfilled the program objective, to make an easy way for society to do financial transactions without having to go to the bank office. Therefore, the implementation of the Branchless Banking program met the criteria for eliminating non-price barriers in financial services in remote areas. However, delegation authority to the agent as an extension of the bank to provide limited financial services has encouraged agents to engage in moral hazard behaviors by charging the tariff that greater than the official rate set by the managing bank. It showed that the agent has taken the consumer surplus provided by the Branchless Banking technology. Although accepted by society since considerably cheaper than the fee to go to the nearest bank office, that condition becomes a price barrier for the future development of Branchless Banking.

Background: D. Frank Benson and colleagues first described the clinical and neuropathological features of posterior cortical atrophy (PCA) from patients in the UCLA Neurobehavior Program. Objective: We reviewed the Program’s subsequent clinical experience with PCA, and its potential for clarifying this relatively rare syndrome in comparison to the accumulated literature on PCA. Methods: Using the original criteria derived from this clinic, 65 patients with neuroimaging-supported PCA were diagnosed between 1995 and 2020. Results: On presentation, most have visual localization complaints and related visuospatial symptoms, but nearly half had memory complaints followed by symptoms of depression. Neurobehavioral testing showed predominant difficulty with visuospatial constructions, Gerstmann’s syndrome, and Balint’s syndrome, but also impaired memory and naming. On retrospective application of the current Consensus Criteria for PCA, 59 (91%) met PCA criteria with a modification allowing for “significantly greater visuospatial over memory and naming deficits.” There were 37 deaths (56.9%) with the median overall survival of 10.3 years (95% CI: 9.6–13.6 years), consistent with a slow neurodegenerative disorder in most patients. Conclusion: Together, these findings recommend modifying the PCA criteria for “relatively spared” memory, language, and behavior to include secondary memory and naming difficulty and depression, with increased emphasis on the presence of Gerstmann’s and Balint’s syndromes.

Background: As of December 2018, BPJS Kesehatan has received application from 4,909 people to be registered as non-contribution assistance beneficiary (PBPU) through Gandrung JKN. Number of people to be registered to BPJS as non-contribution assistance beneficiary (PBPU) tends to fluctuate every month and tends to be stagnant in several districts, including in Licin Subdistrict. Most of people in Licin Subdistrict also not familiar with Gandrung JKN program. Objective: This student-community partnership is carried out to minimize the gap in community knowledge about what JKN is and the procedure to be registered in JKN scheme.  Method: The role of students in the effort to introduce and register the community in JKN was designed by bringing the community closer to the Banyuwangi Gandrung Program. This community service consists of three stages, including activities in provisioning the students and health cadres about JKN and Gandrung JKN, direct socialization by students in the Licin subdistrict community, and efforts to provide closer access of community to BPJS Kesehatan.  Results: The debriefing in the first stage was given directly by the Banyuwangi Branch BPJS Kesehatan to increase students' knowledge of JKN. Students then successfully carried out direct socialization to the Licin subdistrict community. Three villages were successfully accompanied and performed a high level of participation in the socialization session. Community service has also succeeded in bringing people closer to BPJS Kesehatan. Conclusion: The information conveyed in this activity was well received by the community because it was tailor-made according to the information needed by each family. Student assistance sharpens students' ability to communicate and understand JKN. Although the assistance succeeded in increasing the community's knowledge, in the short term it did not significantly increase the desire to register to become a JKN participant.

Background: Despite of the increasing popularity of laparoscopic hysterectomy, vaginal route still stays pertinent. Non descent vaginal hysterectomy (NDVH) involves d steep learning curve and hence, should be a fundamental part of every Gynaecology residency program. Objective of the study was to assess the learning curve of NDVH surgery skill at a Military Zonal Hospital by a single Specialist over a period of two years. Methods: Retrospective study conducted at Military Hospital, Agra between June 2015 to June 2017 on 30 patients who underwent NDVH for benign gynaecological conditions. Results: The average blood loss was noted to reduce from a mean of 285ml (±108.94) in the first 20 cases (Group 1) to 227ml (±110.89) in the next 10 cases (Group 2) despite of the average uterine size increasing from 8.5 (±1.43) weeks in Group 1 to 10.2 (±2.39) weeks in Group 2. The average time taken in minutes was also seen to reduce from 89.75 (±12.62) in Group 1 to 70.5 (±16.50) in Group 2 indicating an improvement of surgical skills. The average 24 hr post-operative haemoglobin fall of 0.8gm% was similar between the two groups. Conclusions: Acquiring NDVH skills is a slow but rewarding process. NDVH involves no incisions, no elaborate set-up, avoids complications of general anaesthesia and pneumo-peritoneum and displays similar results as of laparoscopy. In limited resource countries vaginal route may be the only available minimally invasive option for hysterectomy. Hence, it’s pertinent that Gynecologists are trained in the same.

BACKGROUND: Vocational rehabilitation (VR) can potentially help disability-insured workers stay at work or return to work when they experience a disability. Such assistance could prevent or delay entry into the Social Security Disability (SSD) program. OBJECTIVE: We present descriptive statistics on the extent to which new VR applicants for 1998 through 2005 receive SSD benefits before or after VR application. METHODS: We matched Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA-911) records for the years 1998 through 2009 with the Social Security Administration’s program and earnings files. RESULTS: The analyses show that a substantial number of VR applicants entered SSD in the 60 months following VR application—more than 60,000 (12.3 percent) of the first-time VR applicants in 2002. The analyses also disclose variation in SSD entry across states, with some states accounting for entry percentages twice as high as that of others. We also found a positive relationship between our measure of wait time and entry into SSD. CONCLUSIONS: Although the large number of VR applicants entering SSD after VR application is modest compared to the number receiving an SSD award each year, the potential influence of VR services on later SSD and Medicare expenditures could be in the billions of dollars annually, in either direction.

Program objective. An SBA and an SCF arrangements with total access of SDR 224.8 million (90 percent of quota) were approved on July 15, 2019. The Fundsupported program aims at maintaining macroeconomic stability and supporting growth through reforms to foster revenue mobilization, secure sustainability in the electricity sector, and improve governance and the business climate. The authorities plan to continue treating the SBA and SCF arrangements as precautionary. Economic and political context. Growth has slowed down more than expected due to a challenging external environment and a series of shocks to economic activity— notably, a severe drought. Some social tensions over political reforms and sectoral demands arose over the summer, but recent agreements on electoral management bodies have lessened them. It remains critical to secure the implementation of economic reforms, notably on revenue mobilization and the electricity sector.

Abstract The Cooperative Extension System's mission to “put scientific knowledge into practice” is a natural fit for practicing anthropologists. Two extension anthropologists present their work with the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach programs, Iowa Learning Farms and Water Rocks!, as a case study for how anthropological practice can be used to develop and implement successful extension programs. Added to the conversation is the element of advocacy in anthropological practice, with an examination of how using anthropological research and evaluation methods to understand targeted program audience perspectives better enables practitioners to advocate for environmental improvements and better meet the primary extension program objective of bringing practical, science-based solutions to real world problems.
