After the realization that asbestos fiber is harmful to human health, efforts to produce organic and environmentally friendly brake pads have increased. In this study, an environmentally friendly brake pad (NUS sample) was produced with the addition of 3.5% hazelnut shell powder. Hardness and density measurements of the brake pad sample were made. Chase type device was used for the wear and friction tests. The experiments were done according to the SAE J661 standard. The average friction coefficient value obtained as a result of the experiments was found to be 0.435 µ. Bu değer standartlara uygundur ve “FF” sınıfı aralığındadır. This value complies with the standards and is in the "FF" class range.

In order to reduce the local scour before the antiscour device of piers, this paper proposed an improvement on a “V-type” device. That was to say, wing plates were set on the surface of the “V-type” device to enhance the diversion and reduce the local scour. To explore the protection effect of the modified device, the inclination angles of the wing plates were set to three angles, and the scour characteristics around the device were studied through the flume scour test and numerical simulation test. The results showed that the wing plates can reduce the impact force of the diving flow which was at the front end of the protective device. Besides, they could also disturb the flow around both sides of the device and weaken its sediment carrying capacity. Thus, the local scour around the device was effectively reduced. Especially, when the wing plates were 30°, the performance of reducing the local scour was the best.

This article presents the solutions of bonded anchors used to strengthen façade textured layers in the walls of three-layer large slab panel buildings in Poland. Large slab panel building systems that are found in Poland have been characterized. The use of new bonded anchors is preceded by diagnostics of the walls of three-layer large slab panel buildings. The author presents two-stage diagnostics: non-destructive methods, measurement of reinforcement parameters and its condition using a Profometer type device, and destructive methods by performing an opencast with a drilling rig. A review of previously used bonded anchorages in Poland was carried out. Proposals for the use of anchor groups in various configurations with different angles of inclination of the diagonal anchors were also presented in order to achieve the most durable effect possible.

The water intake structure is a functional element of the water supply system, but it must also be a fish protection object. The following basic requirements are imposed on the devices of modern fish protection devices at water intakes: prevention of ingress and death of young fish and larvae, prevention of injury to young fish and larvae, removal of protected fish from water intake, reliability of operation under specific conditions and means. According to the principle of operation, the most effective is the active scheme, with the forced formation of the hydraulic flow structure. The design of a universal combined type device with the use of a jet generator as a flow-forming element that creates a reactive hydraulic movement designed to protect fish and juveniles with a body size of less than 15 mm is proposed.
