Background: Renal artery to inferior vena cava fistula is a rare event postnephrectomy. We report a case of an adult male in whom a renal artery to inferior vena cava fistula was detected on non-invasive studies following nephrectomy for penetrating trauma. Case Report: A fistula between the right renal artery and inferior vena cava was confirmed with diagnostic angiography. The fistula was successfully embolized using microcoils. Discussion: This case highlights the importance of exploring retroperitoneal hematomas secondary to penetrating trauma.

Root resorption (RR) is a common complication of traumatic dental injuries (TDIs), which could result in tooth loss and affect life in severe cases. The management of a traumatized tooth with RR remains a challenge for clinicians. In our presented cases, the impacted teeth had a history of trauma and underwent thorough non-surgical endodontic treatment; however, RR still occurred months later and could be observed through a periapical radiograph. Therefore, root canal therapy was performed under a dental microscope with a quick-setting calcium silicate cement to repair the RR site. After a long follow-up, the affected teeth showed almost complete healing of the periradicular tissues without sign of RR. This report demonstrates that external root absorption is typically a consequence of traumatized teeth. However, to date, there is still no effective method for its treatment. Here, we successfully applied microscopical surgery to the traumatized teeth experiencing root absorption and provided them with a new healing opportunity.

Purpose: To report a case of large intraorbital foreign body after a trauma. Case report: A 38-year-old male patient admitted to hospital because of blurry vision and pain in left eye after being hit by a windscreen wiper on left eye (OS). Lid laceration was treated in a tertiary center before the patient was admitted to Ho Chi Minh City Eye Hospital with diagnosis orbital cellulitis and intraorbital foreign body of OS. High dose of antibiotics had been indicated before he underwent surgery to remove the foreign body. The foreign body was made of plastic, 7×10×35mm in size with many edges and adjacent to the orbital apex. Conclusion: Taking history and trauma mechanism carefully may aid to early diagnosis and appropriate treatment to a patient with intraorbital foreign body. CT-scan images of the orbit, the globe, the sinuses and the cranial bones not only help locate the foreign body, but also aid to find out injuries of adjacent structures.
