We construct a level -1/2 vertex representation of the quantum [Formula: see text]-toroidal algebra of type [Formula: see text], which is a natural generalization of the usual quantum toroidal algebra. The construction also provides a vertex representation of the quantum toroidal algebra for type [Formula: see text] as a by-product.

Abstract We generalize the framework of Higgsed networks of intertwiners to the quantum toroidal algebra associated to Lie algebra $$ \mathfrak{gl} $$ gl N. Using our formalism we obtain a systems of screening operators corresponding to W-algebras associated to toric strip geometries and reproduce partition functions of 3d theories on orbifolded backgrounds.

Abstract We investigate the quasi-Hopf twist of the quantum toroidal algebra of $$ {\mathfrak{gl}}_1 $$ gl 1 as an elliptic deformation. Under the quasi-Hopf twist the underlying algebra remains the same, but the coproduct is deformed, where the twist parameter p is identified as the elliptic modulus. Computing the quasi-Hopf twist of the R matrix, we uncover the relation to the elliptic lift of the Nekrasov factor for instanton counting of the quiver gauge theories on ℝ4× T2. The same R matrix also appears in the commutation relation of the intertwiners, which implies an elliptic quantum KZ equation for the trace of intertwiners. We also show that it allows a solution which is factorized into the elliptic Nekrasov factors and the triple elliptic gamma function.

Abstract We define and study the space of q-opers associated with Bethe equations for integrable models of XXZ type with quantum toroidal algebra symmetry. Our construction is suggested by the study of the enumerative geometry of cyclic quiver varieties, in particular the ADHM moduli spaces. We define $\left (\overline {GL}(\infty ),q\right )$ -opers with regular singularities and then, by imposing various analytic conditions on singularities, arrive at the desired Bethe equations for toroidal q-opers.

Abstract In [1], Nakatsu and Takasaki have shown that the melting crystal model behind the topological strings vertex provides a tau-function of the KP hierarchy after an appropriate time deformation. We revisit their derivation with a focus on the underlying quantum W1+∞ symmetry. Specifically, we point out the role played by automorphisms and the connection with the intertwiner — or vertex operator — of the algebra. This algebraic perspective allows us to extend part of their derivation to the refined melting crystal model, lifting the algebra to the quantum toroidal algebra of $$ \mathfrak{gl} $$ gl (1) (also called Ding-Iohara-Miki algebra). In this way, we take a first step toward the definition of deformed hierarchies associated to A-model refined topological strings.

Abstract Recently, Gaiotto and Rapcak proposed a generalization of WN algebra by considering the symmetry at the corner of the brane intersection (corner vertex operator algebra). The algebra, denoted as YL,M,N, is characterized by three non-negative integers L, M, N. It has a manifest triality automorphism which interchanges L, M, N, and can be obtained as a reduction of W1+∞ algebra with a “pit” in the plane partition representation. Later, Prochazka and Rapcak proposed a representation of YL,M,N in terms of L + M + N free bosons by a generalization of Miura transformation, where they use the fractional power differential operators. In this paper, we derive a q-deformation of the Miura transformation. It gives a free field representation for q-deformed YL,M,N, which is obtained as a reduction of the quantum toroidal algebra. We find that the q-deformed version has a “simpler” structure than the original one because of the Miki duality in the quantum toroidal algebra. For instance, one can find a direct correspondence between the operators obtained by the Miura transformation and those of the quantum toroidal algebra. Furthermore, we can show that the both algebras share the same screening operators.

Abstract We construct explicit elements $W_{ij}^k$ in (a completion of) the shifted quantum toroidal algebra of type $A$ and show that these elements act by 0 on the $K$-theory of moduli spaces of parabolic sheaves. We expect that the quotient of the shifted quantum toroidal algebra by the ideal generated by the elements $W_{ij}^k$ will be related to $q$-deformed $W$-algebras of type $A$ for arbitrary nilpotent, which would imply a $q$-deformed version of the Alday-Gaiotto-Tachikawa (AGT) correspondence between gauge theory with surface operators and conformal field theory.

Quantum [Formula: see text]-toroidal algebras are generalizations of quantum affine algebras and quantum toroidal algebras. In this paper, we construct a level-one vertex representation of the quantum [Formula: see text]-toroidal algebra for type [Formula: see text]. In particular, we also obtain a level-one module of the quantum toroidal algebra for type [Formula: see text] as a special case.
