Studies related to the comparison of ectoparasites that infect snakehead from different habitats and their relationship to biometric conditions have not been widely studied. Thus, present study aimed to investigate the prevalence, intensity, dominance, and predilection of ectoparasites on snakehead collected from ditches, paddy fields, and swamps and correlate them with biometric conditions. In total of 90 snakehead fish were collected from ditches, paddy fields, and swamps. The observation of ectoparasites was performed on the gills, fins, and skin. The parameters measured in this study were ectoparasite profiles and biometric condition of fish. Specifically, the parameters of the ectoparasite profile included prevalence, intensity, dominance, and predilection. Meanwhile, the parameters of the biometric conditions were the length-weight relationship, the distribution of length and weight classes, and condition factors. Five species of ectoparasites that have been identified as Tetrahymena sp., Epistylis sp., Trichodina sp., Dactylogyrus sp., and Gyrodactylus sp. Tetrahymena sp. infection in snakehead was reported for the first time. The ditch habitat had the highest prevalence and intensity, which were 76.7% and 15.4 ectoparasites/fish, respectively. Tetrahymena sp. and Epistylis sp. were detected in sneakhead from all habitats, Trichodina sp. was detected at ditch and paddy field habitats, whereas, Gyrodactylus sp. and Dactylogyrus sp. were only found in swamp habitats. The gill was the predilection organ that most vulnerable to ectoparasite infection. Infected Snakehead tend to have lower average weight and length than healthy snakehead. Snakehead with a weight range of 115.2-145.2 g and a length range of 258.5-268.5 mm tend to be more vulnerable to ectoparasite infection compared to other sizes.Keywords:Tetrahymena sp.PrevalenceIntensityPredilectionLength-weight relationship

Pendahuluan; Diabetes melitus (DM) masih menjadi masalah utama dimana penderita DM di kala ini berkisar 463 juta orang dewasa dengan umur 20-79 tahun (9,3%). Ikan gabus (Channa striata) merupakan salah satu bahan alamiah yang mengandung albumin yang ditinjau memiliki aktivitas antioksidan pada sel beta pancreas sehingga dipercaya dapat mengobati DM. Ikan gabus memiliki khasiat diantaranya ; memiliki aktivitas antinociceptive, mempercepat penyembuhan luka dan sebagai antiinflamasi. Tujuan; mengetahui pengaruh pemberian ekstrak ikan gabus dan metformin terhadap kontrol glikemik tikus model diabetes melitus. Metode; Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan rancangan post test only control group design. Hasil; Berdasarkan uji kruskal walis menunjukan (p < 0,05) dengan arti terdapat pengaruh pemberian EIG terhadap penurunan kadar glukosa darah tikus, dan terdapat penurunan HbA1c namun tidak signifikan. Kesimpulan; Kombinasi ekstrak ikan gabus 300mg/kgBB dan metformin 45 mg/kgBB lebih unggul untuk penurunan glukosa darah dan HbA1c dibandingkan terapi tunggal EIG atau metformin

Nghiên cứu điều kiện tiền xử lý và chiết tách collagen từ da cá lóc bằng pepsin đã được thực hiện. Kết quả cho thấy da cá lóc được xử lý với 10% butyl alcohol trong 72 giờ thì hàm lượng lipid còn lại thấp nhất là 15,3%. Collagen từ da cá lóc được chiết tách với 0,45% pepsin trong 24 giờ cho hiệu suất thu hồi 13,7% và độ hòa tan cực đại ở pH  1 - 4 và nồng độ NaCl từ 0,2 - 0,6 M. Bên cạnh đó, phổ FTIR cho thấy mối quan hệ chặt chẽ giữa số bước sóng trong vùng amide I và vùng amide III đặc biệt là sự ổn định của cấu trúc xoắn ba, cho thấy collagen từ da cá lóc có đầy đủ nhóm chức năng của collagen loại I. Collagen có màu sáng với giá trị L* là 62,4 và hàm lượng imino acid là 204 (đơn vị/1000 đơn vị). Kết quả nghiên cứu cho thấy có thể sử dụng pepsin để thay thế hoá chất nhằm giảm thiểu lượng hoá chất thải ra môi trường, tận dụng da cá lóc như nguồn nguyên liệu để sản xuất collagen.

Latar Belakang: Luka bakar adalah cedera pada kulit atau jaringan organik lainnya yang disebabkan oleh panas, radiasi, zat radioaktif, listrik, gesekan atau kontak dengan bahan kimia. Cedera pada saluran pernapasan akibat inhalasi asap, juga dianggap sebagai luka bakar (WHO, 2018). Bagian tubuh yang mengalami luka bakar akan vasodilatasi akibat adanya stimulus mediator inflamasi yang dilepaskan oleh sel endotel, platelet dan leukosit yang rusak, mengakibatkan peningkatan tekanan hidrostatik kapiler yang menyebabkan meningkatnya permeabilitas membran kapiler. Keadaan ini membuat cairan dan elektrolit di intravaskuler keluar ke ekstravaskuler. Albumin juga ikut keluar ke ekstraseluler pada proses ini, sehingga terjadi hipoalbuminemia. Hipoalbuminemia adalah kondisi dimana kadar albumin dalam darah berada dibawah 3,5 g/dl, sedangkan kadar normal albumin normal dalam darah adalah 3,8-5,0 g/dl. Berdasarkan Formularium Nasional sesuai Kepmenkes 2017 perihal pembatasan pemberian albumin infus yang didukung oleh JKN-KIS, ditetapkan bahwa pasien luka bakar diberikan transfusi human albumin bila kadar albumin kurang 2,5 g/dl. Diperlukan adanya solusi untuk peningkatan kadar albumin selain melalui transfusi, dengan syarat alternatif transfusi albumin ini diharapkan lebih hemat dan efisien dibandingkan dengan albumin transfusi yang terkenal mahal. Ekstrak Channa striata merupakan sebuah produk baru yang diharapkan dapat menjadi alternatif albumin transfusi ini. Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui apakah pemberian kapsul ekstrak Channa striata dapat meningkatkan kadar albumin dalam darah pada kasus luka bakar. Metode: Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode systematical review dengan mengambil jurnal melalui Google Scholer, PubMed dan ScienceDirect. Kesimpulan: Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah kapsul ekstrak Channa striata dapat meningkatkan kadar albumin dalam tubuh serta mempercepat penyembuhan luka pasien luka bakar. Kapsul ekstrak Channa striata biasanya diberikan sebagai suplementasi bersama bahan lain untuk memenuhi kebutuhan gizi pasien. Penelitian yang saya temukan selain membuktikan efek kapsul ekstrak Channa striata terhadap kadar albumin juga memberikan hasil lain mengenai pemberian ekstrak Channa striata pada luka bakar yaitu penurunan kadar MDA serum dan meningkatkan balans nitrogen ke arah positif.

Due to their toxicity, Cd(II) and Ni(II) ions in the environment are severe. The hydroxyapatite composite was improved with magnetic MnFe2O4 to remove Cd(II) and Ni(II) ions from an aqueous solution. Hydroxyapatite was extracted from Snakehead (Channa striata) fish bones via alkaline-heat treatment. The hydroxyapatite/MnFe2O4 composite performance was analyzed through XRD, FTIR, SEM-EDS, BET analysis, and VSM, and the results reveal that the hydroxyapatite/MnFe2O4 composite shows good magnetic properties of 21.95 emu/g. The kinetics evaluation confirmed that the pseudo-second-order kinetics model was more suitable to describe the adsorption of Cd(II) and Ni(II) ions by hydroxyapatite/MnFe2O4 composite from the solution. The Langmuir isotherm model was suitable to describe the adsorption process of the Cd(II) and Ni(II)  ions, where the adsorption capacities for Cd(II) and Ni(II) are 54.3 and 47.4 mg/g, respectively. Desorption of Cd(II) and Ni(II) ions from hydroxyapatite/MnFe2O4 composite using NaCl as the eluent was more effective than EDTA. The findings of this study indicate that hydroxyapatite/MnFe2O4 can reduce Cd(II) and Ni(II) ions in wastewater so that it can recover natural resources.
