Background: The aim of the study is to compare the results of anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACL-R) in people aged more than 50 and under 30 years of age. Methods: A total of 64 patients with ACL rupture were evaluated for eligibility. Thirty-two patients with ACL rupture, aged more than 50 years (54.38 ± 1.26) were matched in all of the background factors, with 32 patients suffering from ACL rupture under 30 years old. They were followed for clinical and functional results at six and on average 45.58 months after surgery. These evaluations included the Lachman test, KT-1000, International Knee Documentation Committee (IKDC) score, Lysholm knee score (LKS), return to exercise activity, post-operative satisfaction rate, and pain intensity based on Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) and rates of extension and flexion loss. Results: Our findings indicated that knee stability, return to exercise activity, LKS and IKDC scores, as well as pain intensity and satisfaction were significantly improved in both groups. Indeed, the satisfaction rate of patients over 50 years at six months after surgery was less than those under 30 years (P < 0.001); however, it was approximately similar to the group under 30 years of age in the final follow-up (P > 0.05). The rate of return to sports activity was also lower in patients over 50 years. Conclusions: The comparable results at the patients with < 30 years demonstrated that arthroscopic ACL-R in patients over 50 years of age with no or mild DJD has good results.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus accounts for about 90% of all diabetes cases worldwide. Type 2 DM is caused by the body's inability to respond well to insulin or called insulin resistance. Insulin resistance causes hyperglycemia and hyperinsulinemia which results in decreased uric acid excretion function in the kidney tubules, so that there will be an increase in uric acid in the blood or hyperuricemia. Type of research including descriptive with cross sectional approach. The examination was carried out at Dr. Adhyatma, MPH. The research respondents were 24 people, uric acid levels were examined with a TMS 50i Superior device. The data obtained is processed and presented in the form of diagrams and percentages. Type 2 DM respondents numbered 24 people. The highest hyperuricemia is based on the characteristics of the respondents, those are above 55 years old (25%), female sex (25%), high blood pressure (25%), and exercise activity 1x / day (21%). Of the 24 respondents, 14 people (58.3%) had normal uric acid levels and 10 people (41.6%) had hyperuricemia, with an average female uric acid value of 5.54 mg / dL and men of 6,48 mg / dL.

The ketogenic diet and walking exercise training activity are two key public health lifestyle factors. The potential of combined lifestyle factors interventions focused on getting to compliance in forced exercise. A balanced ketogenic diet and regular exercise activity is a key modifiable factor to the prevention and management of chronic diseases. Influence health across the lifespan and reduction of the risk of premature death through several biological mechanisms. Community older group’s lifestyle factors interventions contribute identity in their natural living environment. While the older health benefits of walking exercise training strategies are commonly to study, combined ketogenic diet and walking exercise interventions have induced greater benefits in community older groups.

Background: In this study, we focused on Healthy Coping, a key principle of ADCES7 Self-Care Behaviors® (ADCES7®) that enables people with diabetes to achieve health goals for self-care. We aimed to validate Healthy Coping-related feedback messages from diabetes mobile apps against the framework based on behavioral change theories. Methods: We searched apps using the search terms: “diabetes,” “blood sugar,” “glucose,” and “mood” from iTunes and Google Play stores. We entered a range of values on 3 Healthy Coping domains: (1) diabetes-related measures including blood glucose, blood pressure, HbA1c, weight, (2) physical exercise/activity, and (3) mood to generate feedback messages. We used a framework by adopting validated behavioral change theory-based models to evaluate the feedback messages against 3 dimensions of timing, intention, and content (feedback purpose and feedback response). The feedback purposes in this study were categorized into 7 purposes; warning, suggestion, self-monitoring, acknowledging, reinforcement, goal setting, and behavior contract. Results: We identified 1,749 apps from which 156 diabetes mobile apps were eligible and generated 473 feedback messages. The majority of generated feedback messages were related to blood sugar measurement. Only feedback messages on blood sugar under diabetes-related measures and mood domains encompassed all 7 feedback purposes under the content dimension. Conclusions: Many feedback messages neither supported Healthy Coping domains nor followed the behavioral theory-based framework. It is important that feedback messages be structured around the dimensions of the behavioral theory-based framework to promote behavior change. Furthermore, our framework had the generalizability that can be used in other clinical areas.

Kata kunci: diabetes; perawatan kaki; senam kakiASTRACTDiabetes can lead to multi-organ failure, where the most common complication is diabetic ulcers as a result of neuropathy. It is necessary to perform a prevention program of diabetic ulcers to community by giving health education of foot care and foot exercise. In addition to education, motivation for diabetics is also needed to perform physical activity. This community service activity aimed to provide health education in diabetes foot care and motivate diabetes patients to perform physical activity such as diabetic foot exercise. There were 16 diabetic patients at Cinta Kasih Budha Tzu Chi Hospital, Jakarta participated in this community service. The activity performed in 3 sessions, such as opening and ice breaking, health education sharing of diabetes and foot care, followed by demonstration of diabetic foot exercise. Activity was conducting using blended method by zoom application and face to face meeting at polyclinic unit by complying health protocols of Covid-19. From the results of the evaluation, there has been an increase level of knowledge on diabetic foot care and motivation to perform diabetic foot exercise. Aside from that, as a result of filling out the questionnaire about foot care, the majority of the participants had good knowledge about foot care (56.2%). It is suggested that the community should increase knowledge on diabetes foot care, perform diabetes foot exercise regularly to decrease the complications of diabetic ulcers.Key words: diabetes; foot care; foot exercise

Abstract This study was conducted to investigate the energy mobilization and ionoregulation pattern of tilapia living recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) and cage culture environments. Three different groups of tilapia were compared as tilapia cultured in RAS (Group I - RAS), tilapia cultured in open water cage (Group II - Cage) and tilapia transferred from cage to RAS (Group III - Compensation) as physiology compromising model. Results revealed that Group II tilapia mobilized glycogen as primarily energy for daily exercise activity and promoted growth, whilst tilapia from Group I and III mobilised lipid to support gonadogenesis and protein reserved for somatogensis. The gills and kidney NKA activities remained relative stable to maintain balance homeostasis with a electrolytes level. As a remark, this study revealed that tilapia re-strategized their energy mobilization pattern in accessing glycogen as easy energy to support exercise metabolism and mobilized lipid and protein for growth and gonadal development.

Abstract Background About half of Swedish eating disorder patients report exercising compulsively and compulsive exercise (CE) is prevalent in all diagnoses and both genders. Yet there are no systematic treatments targeting CE in specialist care. This study aims to evaluate the effects of The CompuLsive Exercise Activity TheraPy (LEAP) - a promising group treatment targeting compulsive exercise, in Swedish eating disorder patients. Method One hundred twenty-eight adult females and males suffering from anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa or other specified feeding and eating disorders (type 1, 2, or 4) with CE will be recruited via four specialist eating disorder treatment units. Participants will be randomized to receive treatment as usual (control group) or treatment as usual plus LEAP (intervention group). The groups will be assessed on key variables (e.g., BMI, eating disorder symptoms, exercise cognitions and behaviors) at three occasions: initially, after 3 months and after 6 months. Discussion The project takes place in a clinical setting, including both male and female patients with different eating disorder diagnoses with CE, enabling a good indication of the efficacy of LEAP. If our results are positive, LEAP has the potential of benefiting about half of the eating disorder population, with remission and recovery hopefully improving as a result. Trial registration The trial is registered with the ISRCTN registry (registration date 2020-03-25), trial ID: ISRCTN80711391.
