Protected areas play significant roles in protecting biodiversity by mitigating human activities. As an indicator for human activities, the human footprint (HF) can be used to assess the effectiveness of protected areas. We developed a HF dataset for the Sanjiangyuan region in China after localizing the global HF model. Then we used it to assess the effectiveness of Sanjiangyuan nature reserve (SNR) in mitigating human pressures. Our results suggest that the HF value for the Sanjiangyuan region was generally low from 1995 to 2015, with a fluctuating increasing trend. The SNR is partially effective in mitigating human pressures. For 2005–2010, the HF values decreased both within and outside the reserve with more decreases for the outside. For the three functional zones of the SNR, our results show that the HF values decreased during 2005–2010 for all of them, with the largest decrease in the experimental area, and increased during 2010–2015, with the lowest increase in the core areas. The results we obtained are consistent with ecological indicator-based assessments. It is a challenge for the government to balance conservation and development in establishing Sanjiangyuan National Park.

Currently, there are many studies devoted to the problems of immunity in space flights. It has been proven that both short-term and long-term stay in space significantly reduces the immune function of the body. There are cases of the development of infectious diseases in astronauts during the flight, there is evidence of an increase in the activity of viruses and microorganisms that can affect the health of crew members. In the light of the upcoming expedition to Mars, it is especially important to study exactly what changes in the immune system can be triggered by prolonged stay in zero gravity and other factors of space flight and what preventive measures can help preserve the health of astronauts both during the flight itself and after its completion. The state of the immune system in space has been studied at various levels, from molecular to organ. There was a change in the morphological parameters of the immune system organs, violations of the ratio of their morpho-functional zones, and cellular composition. Various disorders in signaling pathways of differentiation, activation and death of immune system cells are shown. One of the most studied topics is the decrease in the activity of T-lymphocytes recorded by many researchers, however, even in this matter, the mechanisms of the violations occurring and their connection with the conditions of space flight have not been fully clarified. The relevance of methods for modeling microgravity conditions, such as various types of hanging, rotation on a clinostat, and immobilization is due both to their greater availability for research compared to space flights, and the importance of studying the role of various factors associated with flight in changes occurring in the human and animal bodies. This article presents an overview of publications devoted to a wide range of issues related to the state of the immune system in space flights and ground simulation conditions and attempts to combine the results of various levels of research – molecular, cellular and morphological.

This article is devoted to the study of the experience of designing domestic and foreign agricultural facilities, the prospective development of the architecture of a suburban multifunctional agricultural complex for the cultivation, storage, processing and sale of agricultural products in Kazakhstan. As a result of a comprehensive study, architectural proposals were developed and functional zones were determined: a recreation area, greenhouses, a residential area, a landscape area, a recreational-type settlement (tourism, recreation and hunting) and a trade and fair zone.

The article considers the problem of design of a smart apartment as a new level of historical development of small housing. Various aspects of housing cell formation are considered in the scientific works of Bachynska L.G., Gnesya I.P., Gnat G.O. etc.The history of furniture development with the signs of transformation was studied by scientists: Bosyi I.M., Mygal S.P., Z. Dyachun., Vergunova N.S. The purpose of the study is to identify methods of forming the interior of a small residential cell, taking into account the requirements of comfortable living for a small mobile resident. Factors that determine the comfort of the living cell environment and the means to create conditions to ensure a comfortable stay and life in a limited area have been identified. One of the aspects of shaping the interior design of a smart apartment is the use of furniture-transformers. The classification of furniture-transformers according to the level of transformation is carried out: furniture that changes its position without changing the function; furniture that combines several functions; spatial «housing cube». The main directions of architectural and planning organization of smart apartments are identified: hotel-type apartment, studio apartment, apartment with two rooms, and their possibilities for organization of main functional zones. The basic expedient architectural and planning schemes of smart apartments with examples of their zoning, placement of furniture and interior design are developed and given. It was found that to create a barrier-free living environment for a low-mobility resident, the most acceptable schemes are a two-room apartment or a studio apartment, due to the size and square shape of the plan, which allows you to organize movement and access to furniture in a wheelchair. Based on a comprehensive consideration of the requirements for environmental comfort, regulatory requirements for barrier-free space, features of the use of furniture-transformers, compositional techniques of space organization, ergonomics and energy efficiency, the use of new technologies and modern environmental finishing materials, have been developed and implemented in real design smart apartment concept for little mobile resident. The description of project development with the substantiation of the accepted decision is given. According to the results of the study, recommendations for the design of the interior of a smart apartment for a low-mobile resident were formulated, including: «free floor», access and ease of use of furniture, equipment and technical equipment; use of furniture-transformers.

The urban greenness distribution between functional areas of a medium-size city Birobidzhan was assessed. To this end, normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) values were calculated based on Sentinel 2 multispectral imaging. Birobidzhan is characterized by a large scatter of NDVI values (from –0.5 to +1). Areas with high levels of greenery are prevalent. They are found in different types of functional zones, but are specific mainly to natural recreational, agricultural, and individual build-up zones as well as to special areas. The spatial distribution of green infrastructure is highly contrast. The downtown part as well as the industrial and storage zones feature a combination of built-up areas with dense woody vegetation, which is often represented by fragments of preserved natural vegetation. In addition, a feature of the contrast is that low level of tree greenness is characteristic for the built-up districts of the city. Thus, in the city of Birobidzhan, ecological functions are largely performed by the natural vegetation present in the natural recreational zones on 70% of the city's area.

The article provides data on the Sanarsky nature reserve in the Chelyabinsk region. A map-diagram for the functional zoning of the reserve is proposed. It provides the information on the negative factors affecting the reserve such as forest fires, commercial and hobby hunting, the Chelyabinsk — Magnitogorsk motorway which divides the territory of the reserve into two parts. The analysis of the probable habitat of 10 vertebrate species has been carried out. The article presents a biological description and ecology features of animals listed in the Red Book and living on the territory of the reserve, including one species of amphibians — Siberian salamander (Salamandrella keyserlingii Dybowski, 1870), one species of snakes of the genus Copperheads, the family of snakes — smooth snake (Coronella austriaca Laurenti, 1768), four species of birds, two of the hawk family — the Pale Harrier (Circus macrourus SG Gmelin, 1770) and the Imperial Eagle (Aquila heliaca Savigny, 1809), the Golden Eagle (Aquila chrysaetos L., 1758) — the largest eagle and the Owl (Bubo bubo L., 1758) from the owl family; two species from the order bats — Brandt’s Moth (Myotis brandtii Eversmann, 1845) and Woodbat (Pipistrellus nathusii Keyserling & Blasius, 1839); one species of the Lagomorph family — the Steppe pika (Ochotona pusilla) and one species from the Jerboa family — the Great Jerboa (Allactaga major Kerr, 1792). It has been established that within the reserve three functional zones can be distinguished such as a recreation zone, an economic zone, a specially protected zone. On this basis, a map-diagram of the functional zoning of the Sanarsky State Natural Complex Reserve has been developed.

The TPH-in-soil of three functional zones (industrial, residential, agro-residential) of Khabarovsk have been studied. Areas of acceptable, low, moderately hazardous, moderate, high and very high pollution levels have been identified. It has been found that the TPH-in-soil of different urban functional areas differs significantly. For statistical processing of experimental data, the Boxplots method ("box-and-whiskers diagram") has been used. It has been proposed to switch to the median value of the aggregate sample of the TPH-in-soil in residential and agro-residential areas as the baseline data.

Experimental studies of changes in the pore structure and physical and technical properties of carbonated spinel-corundum refractories under different conditions of decarbonization and the formation of a protective regulatory layer on their hot surface, suppressing decarbonization of the refractory material and mass transfer between the lining and the flow of slag melt, are presented. The results of industrial tests of carbonated spinel-corundum refractories in the working layer of the lining of a 400-ton steel-ladle lining, as well as the topography and consumption specific coefficients of refractories for the functional zones of the ladle lining, the amount of refractory destruction products of the lining during its operation are considered.

As the basic spatial unit of urban planning and management, it is necessary to understand the real development trend of urban functional zones in time and carry out reasonable planning adjustment. Because of the complexity of urban functional zones, the automatic recognition of urban functional zones has become a significant scientific problem in urban research. Urban functional zones contain natural and socioeconomic characteristics, but the existing identification methods fail to comprehensively consider these features. This paper proposes a framework that integrates multisource geographic data to recognize urban functional zone. We used high-resolution remote sensing imagery, point-of-interest (POI) data and high-spatial-resolution nighttime light imagery to extract both natural and socioeconomic features for urban functional zone accurate interpretation. Various features provide more accurate and comprehensive description for complex urban functional zone, so as to improve the recognition accuracy of urban functional zone. At present, there are few studies on urban functional zone recognition based on the combination of high-resolution remote sensing image, POI and high-resolution nighttime light imagery. The application potential of the combination of these three geographical data sources in urban function zone recognition needs to be explored. The experimental results show that the accuracy of urban functional zone recognition was obviously improved by the three data sources combination, the overall accuracy reached 80.30% and a comprehensive evaluation index reached 68.26%. This illustrate that the combination of the three data sources is beneficial to the urban functional zone recognition.
