Relevance. The problem associated with the continuing decline in the yield of the main crops and soil fertility in most of the arable lands leads to the need of developing comprehensive measures, including the optimal selection of crops and methods of tillage and planting in order to increase the collection of plant protein and preserve soil fertility.Method. The work devoted to the study of the influence of tillage methods, mineral fertilizers and biological products on the productivity of forage crops and their mixed planting was carried out on the experimental fields of the Chechen Research Institute in 2019–2020 in the forest-steppe climatic zone. The experiment was multifactorial. Mineral fertilizers were used for crop rotation with a view to the planned yield. The biopreparation V417, created at the Institute of Agricultural Microbiology on the basis of the Bacillus subtilis strain, was used in the processing of seed material and crops during the period of intensive plant growth.Results. As a result of the research, it was revealed that each of the studied methods of tillage should correspond to the cultivated crop and the technology used. The introduction of mineral fertilizers provided an increase in the productivity of forage plants in their pure and mixed planting by 11–44%. The treatment of crops with biopreparation V417 reflected in the best way: an increase in yield was from 24 to 52%. At the same time, the highest yield of the green mass of 42.6 t/ha was obtained in a three-component mixture (wheat, peas, oats) in the variants where disking and chiseling were carried out. Mixed planting is a serious reserve for increasing the quantity and quality of plant products. It's feed productivity in the collection of dry matter and feed units was not inferior to pure planting of cereals, and in terms of the provision of 1 feed unit with digestible protein exceeded it by 3–14%.

Two types of fodder crops were evaluated in this study, maize (Zia maize) and black gram (BG) (Vigna mungo) and in maize, non-descriptive local maize (LM) and hybrid maize (HM) verity were used. LM was considered as control and changes of the nutritional composition according to the type of fodder (leguminous and non-leguminous) and the day was evaluated. For comparative nutritional analysis, dry matter (DM), crude protein (CP), ether extract (EE), crude fibre (CF), acid detergent fibre (ADF), neutral detergent fibre (NDF), and total ash were analyzed and the biomass yield was measured using weight balance and root and shoot length of experimental fodders. Results revealed that among three types of forages total DM was significantly (P<0.01) higher in HM and significantly (P<0.01) lower in BG. Considering total CP and NDF, it was significantly (P<0.01) higher in BG and HM than LM. The highest biomass yield and shoot length were observed in BG and the lowest biomass yield was observed in HM. Moreover, with the increment of days, all fodder sprouts DM% was constantly decreasing, however, CP% maintained the same level from day 1 to 5. Although from day 6 to 9, CP% increased moderately for HM and BG, CP% decreased slightly for LM. Therefore, farmer can use BG and HM for maximum utilization of nutrients and considering DM and CP% for LM day 6 was the best time for harvesting; however, for HM and BG, day 9 or more than 9 was the best time for harvesting. Background: Quality and higher fodder production is one of the important aspects to get higher productivity from live stock. India suffer a net deficiency of 35.6% green fodder, 10.95% dry crop residues and Jammu and Kashmir faces a net deficit of 19% in fodder. The choice to grow cultivated fodder crops during kharif season in Kashmir is limited and are grown generally under rainfed conditions. The major kharif season fodder cereal crops are maize and sorghum and the legume fodder crops are cowpea and soybean. To improve the quality and yield of fodder crops, it is important to standardise production technology for legume fodder crops. Methods: A field experiment was undertaken at Agronomy Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, Wadura of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir during kharif 2019 and 2020 to study the impact of different fertility management practices on productivity and economics of forage soybean. The experiment comprising of seven treatments laid out in a randomized complete block design with three replications. Result: Application of N, P2O5, K2O (30, 90, 45 kg/ha) along with 0.1 tons/ha vermicompost recoded higher green fodder productivity and growth characters of soybean. However application of N, P2O5, K2O (20, 60, 30 kg/ha) was found economically viable option.

Ensuring a stable improvement in the quality and standard of living of the rural population allows preserving the social and economic potential of rural areas. Effective management can ensure the implementation of social control and development of rural areas, the preservation of ecology, which ultimately contributes to the preservation of sustainable development of agricultural territories. The purpose of the study: To determine the directions and effective level of increasing the production of agricultural and livestock products aimed at preserving the sustainable development of agricultural territories. A correlation and regression analysis was carried out in the study to determine the promising directions of the northern districts of the Omsk region (Russia) to increase the effectiveness of strategic planning for the sustainable development of agricultural territories. Sustainable development of the regions, according to the authors, is impossible without increasing the level of well-being, therefore, the authors identified such areas for development as the cultivation of fodder crops, the cultivation of livestock and poultry (for slaughter), the cultivation of poultry for meat and the production of honey. The authors concluded that it is necessary to increase the production volumes of the selected promising areas for the development of agriculture by at least 5% to 13% per year, depending on the direction. There will be an increase in profit only at these values, which is one of the important factors contributing to the sustainable development of the areas allocated for research.

The research was carried out in the laboratory conditions of the Federal Williams Research Center of Forage Production and Agroecology on the seed material of nineteen varieties of the selection of VIC, stored since 1986 in a gas environment. The viability of the seeds was determined after 33 years of storage. The laboratory germination rate of the samples after storage varied from 0.7 to 90.3%. Aging of cereal grasses is faster. After storage in a gas environment for 33 years germination of more than 80% was observed in four samples of the legume family and one of the cereals. After being removed from the CSG and placed in normal conditions for a year, most of the samples retained their economic validity, with the exception of forage cereals: brome grass, meadow and reed fescue, and cocksfoot.

Abstract The teosinte plant is one of the most important fodder crops that is affected by drought and nitrogen supply, and therefore the optimal supply of N- fertilization may be affected by the amount of irrigation water added to teosinte plants to obtain an economic crop. Two field experiments were done to study the effect of irrigation amount at three levels (100%, 80% and 120%) and nitrogen fertilizer levels (60, 90 and 120 kg N fed-1) (Feddan = 4200 m2) on the yield productivity of teosinte and determined the optimal and economic optimal N rate as affected by irrigation amount levels, and water relations. The results showed that the highest values of the fresh and dry weight of cuts, as well as plant height and stem diameter, were obtained when applying the full irrigation rate with full irrigation and 120 kg N fed-1. The results also showed that a 20% decrease in the irrigation rate led to a deterioration in the values of those parameters. Although the results showed that the full irrigation amount more saved water at two seasons under various levels of nitrogen. Moreover, all water relationships gave the best mean values for actual evapotranspiration, water utilization and use efficiencies also, higher application efficiency values at full irrigation and 120 kg N-levels than the other treatments. Also, the results showed that the economical yield of teosinte fresh cuts when using 211.01 kg N fed-1 with 120% of the recommended irrigation rate was higher when using 148.22 kg N fed-1 with the recommended irrigation rate. Therefore, we recommend using 211.01 kg N fed-1 to get an optimum economic yield of teosinte fresh cuts, especially in saline soil, with 120% of the recommended irrigation rate.

The article presents the results of morphotypic analysis of populations of perennial medicinal and fodder crops cultivated in the Moscow region (Serratula coronata L.). In the introduction, the botanical characteristics of the crowned sickle are given, the prospects and advantages of phytoecdysteroids obtained from raw materials are noted. The aim of the study is a comparative assessment of cultivated populations of S. coronata by morphotypic composition, determination of the age period for the selection of initial forms for breeding. The object of the study was the different geographical origin S. coronata three cultivated populations (Samarskaya, Belgorodskaya, Syktyvkarskaya from Rep. Komi). We have tested the application of methods for assessing varieties by uniformity, distinctness, stability for morphotypic selection in the population when creating improved, initial and breeding material. The article presents the results of the analysis of the morphotypic composition of populations by morphological characteristics and the productivity of raw materials according to long-term data (2013-2017, Moscow region, VILAR), the age period during which morphotypic selection should be carried out is established, morphotypes that are of the greatest value during selection are identified and described. The age period during which morphotypic selection should be carried out is established: 3-5 year, since the morphotype is fully formed by the 3rd year. It is established that plants in cultivated populations of Serratula coronata are represented by 2-3 morphotypes based on the height and leafiness of the generative shoot, the length of the stem leaves and the mass of the shoot. When selecting, the highest value is represented by tall morphotypes with medium-length leaves (~60-70% of them in each population), but morphotypes with medium leafiness should be selected among them (only ~41-51% of them in each population, only in the Syktyvkarskaya population – up to 69 %). The results of the study are relevant in the aspect of creating an improved, initial and breeding material of the Serratula coronata. AbstractThe purpose of the study is to determine the optimal volume of fodder and grain-fodder crops of appropriate quality to meet the needs of the livestock industry using a systemic comparative economic approach. For the economic assessment of crops for fodder purposes, a systemic comparative economic approach to their production efficiency has been developed. Accounting was carried out according to the three most important indicators in fodder units: quantitative indicators—productivity per hectare of sowing, qualitative—the content of vegetable protein and cost—the production cost. Oats were taken as the primary culture. Their comparison made it possible to determine economically interrelated partial indices, which are reduced to the index of the systemic comparative economic approach, which contributes to optimizing the structure of the cultivated areas of these crops. This technique allows to determine each forage crop’s location in each farm or region’s conditions, analyzing the real situation and assessing the prospects for the development of production. The optimal structure of sown areas for grain-fodder and fodder crops, focused on the cultivation of high-protein crops, for the enterprises of the Northern forest-steppe zone of the Republic of Bashkortostan is proposed. Due to a change in sown areas’ structure, the gross harvest increases by 8%, digestible protein by 2%, and reduced production costs by 48%.

Good quality and economical availability of fodder could be a substitute for crop production in the farming system of dryland areas. In Pakistan, the increasing demands of fodder crops for animal feed require immediate attention to find viable options for fodder production. Additionally, climate change, land detritions, and imbalanced use of chemicals led to an agro-ecological imbalance which needs to focus on mitigation strategies and practices. Therefore, the experiment was conducted three different rainfed areas of Punjab with aims to increase fodder maize quality by application of Gibberellic acid (GA3) and Selenium (Se) to overcome the forage scarcity issue in rainfed areas. The highest fresh biomass and leaf area were recorded by the application of GA75+Se0.75 followed by GA50+Se0.50 at 60 DAS. Similarly, the data about the silage quality traits indicated that more total dry matter (TDM), TDN, Crude protein (CP), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), Crude fiber (CF), acid detergent fiber (ADF), ash contents (AC) were recorded in Afgoi compared to Sohni Dhart 623. Among the experimental locations, the highest TDM, TDN, NDF, ADF and AC were found for the crop planted at NARC followed by URF, Koont and the least values of these traits were recorded for GRS, Attock. Among the different combinations of growth regulators, the highest TDM, TDN, CF, CP and NDF were recorded for GA75+Se0.75 followed by GA50+Se0.50. The above findings conclude that exogenously application of GA75+Se0.75 plays a promising role in the improvement of fodder growth and quality parameters of silage in Afgoi verity at different water stress agro-ecological zones.

The choice of the city of Moscow and the Moscow region is due to its significant contribution to the food security of the country, as well as the distribution of unique fodder crops and conditions for them. In addition, Moscow Region is home to the country’s leading institutions in the field of fodder production and phytosanitary safety. Conference Objective to unite efforts of domestic and foreign scientists in solving urgent issues of economy and photosanitary safety of fodder plants introduction. Over the past few years, positive trends have been observed in the agricultural economy. First of all it is connected with the import substitution program, as well as with the new Doctrine of Food Security of the Russian Federation adopted by the President.
