The world is witnessing an all-level digitalization that guides the industry and business to a restructuration in order to adapt to the new requirements of the surrounding environment. That change also concerns the labour of the technical professionals and their formation. As a consequence of this deep consciousness-raising, this chapter will investigate and develop simulation models based on the current digitalization. The aim of this chapter is the exposition of a real case development of “digital twin” models framed as part of the condition-based maintenance paradigm to improve real-time assets operation and maintenance. This model contributes by providing real-time results that could turn into a basis for the industrial management decisions and place them in the Industry 4.0 paradigm environment.

The article implements the idea of mediatization as a process of transformation of the mass communication industry. Nowadays, the current system of mass communication is under the pressure of digital transit, which is transgressive in nature and breaks traditional business patterns, requires business administration to make mental changes in thinking and management practices, and creates the highest level of tension among media managers. The article attempts to conceptualize (through the analysis of industrial points of tension: between television and online video - players of the cross-media dimension) some aspects of the digital transformation of the media industry and industrial management practices. Behind this transformation is the conflict between the digital environment generated by the relatively free development of the Internet and the purposefully organized and institutionalized state-controlled media.

This article aims to summarize existing research on various sources of uncertainty and to classify them based on the determinants and antecedents addressed in projects. A systematic review is conducted using a total of 140 research published in peer-reviewed scientific journals during the last three decades. We classify various uncertainty based on their individual, relational, group, organizational, project-oriented, and managerial characteristics. Additionally, we uncovered a few gaps such as, how uncertainties differ based on the size of the organization, the need for exploring uncertainty from a more cross-disciplinary perspective, differentiating the concept of complexity and risk with uncertainty and the role of chaos theory,  that require future study. By leveraging significant findings, this is study contributes from the perspective of theory and practice to academic, project, and industrial management discipline.

In Diminished Faculties Jonathan Sterne offers a sweeping cultural study and theorization of impairment. Drawing on his personal history with thyroid cancer and a paralyzed vocal cord, Sterne undertakes a political phenomenology of impairment in which experience is understood from the standpoint of a subject that is not fully able to account for itself. He conceives of impairment as a fundamental dimension of human experience, examining it as both political and physical. While some impairments are enshrined as normal in international standards, others are treated as causes or effects of illness or disability. Alongside his fractured account of experience, Sterne provides a tour of alternative vocal technologies and practices; a study of “normal” hearing loss as a cultural practice rather than a medical problem; and an intertwined history and phenomenology of fatigue that follows the concept as it careens from people to materials science to industrial management to spoons. Sterne demonstrates how impairment is a problem, opportunity, and occasion for approaching larger questions about disability, subjectivity, power, technology, and experience in new ways. Diminished Faculties ends with a practical user’s guide to impairment theory.

"Product Innovation" is a 7-month product development course, conducted at the Institute of Innovation and Industrial Management with international and interdisciplinary student teams. A close connection and interaction between industry, students and research has been an important part of this project-based learning course. Due to the COVID19 pandemic and the worldwide occurring lockdowns, students were not able anymore to interact and conduct their projects in the proven manner. Being in a critical phase of the project, the course concept had to be reorganized and transferred to online conduction by using computer supported collaboration work within a few days. Both observations and surveys were used to compare changes in student´s behaviour and results of the project. This paper will describe 1) the original situation and course concept, 2) show how the course was transformed to online conduction, 3) describe the observations made and 4) analyse how the students experienced the transformation.

Basic tendencies of enterprises' innovative development management have been considered from the perspective of postfordist tranformations. It has been determined that mobility is a specificity of postfordist industrial management. Mobility provides dispersion of structural subdivisions all over the world, it doesn't need any governmental support and strict control. Total diversification of the kind allows to implement «high» technologies through global data revolution practically into all spheres of social life. The evolution of social relations types from feudalism up to Post-Fordism has been provided and their specifics defined. Analytical studies carried out have enabled to discover formed world innovative centres and – from global economic perspective – those of half-peripheral countries with low level of innovative development. The directions of China management of innovative development, whose combined innovation level steadily increases, have been described. It has been determined that a great many of world countries is not currently being on the postfordist stage, since an industrial labour is characteristic for them which defines their type as traditional or early industrial pre-modern. We've also found that innovation development governance at the global level through the prism of postfordist transformations manifests itself in looking for niche, strict subordination to global market mechanisms, decentralization under control of transnational corporations; at the national level: in decentration of social space and thinking, marginalization of urban population, migration; at the meso level: in orientation on consumer needs, considerable mobility of production, individualization under global standardization; at the micro level: in project approach, faster time to market, cost minimization. It has been determined that technological breakthrough evokes such social concerns as total control, alienation, job and security loss.

The economy of modern Russia is in rather unfavorable conditions for its development. Economic growth rates have lagged behind the world average for a long time, and production indicators are falling. And all this is taking place in the context of growing international isolationism, which does not allow the full use of external loans and technologies. In turn, this situation is sensitively reflected in the quality and standard of living of the population, which are declining every year. The reasons for the current difficulties must be sought not only in modern phenomena, but also in those processes that took place in the past. Simultaneously with them, it is necessary to identify examples of successful development of statehood, which allowed the country to achieve significant, in certain periods - exponential, growth of the domestic economy. In this regard, an example of such a period is the second half of the 1920s - 1930s, when in a short period of time the USSR was able to achieve a colossal increase in the gross indicators of the economy and take its rightful place among the leading industrial states. It seems to us that the reasons for such a powerful rise were the over-centralization of the economy. It helped to reveal the hidden reserves of Soviet society, to streamline the activities of all elements of the management system. This aspect determined the goal of our study as a study of the emergence of a super-centralized system of industrial management in the USSR.

Abstract This paper establishes the process in which resilience leads to obsolescence requires a close link between information literacy in one’s sector (industrial and economic) and the ability to anticipate changes (technical and sectoral). Based on an industrial case study, in the automotive manufacturing sector, it is intended to be an engineering analysis in industrial technology with the aim of demonstrating that there is a new axis of reflection, allowing a better performance of the company. This research applies to the life cycles that we have defined and which are sections of the global life cycle. Links are demonstrated between the economic risks to the different types of obsolescence. This article addresses a new research axis in business intelligence, for the benefit of a better technological and industrial management, but also, a new source of data collection to predict market developments, support decision making and the implementation of strategic development plans.
