Using the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in elementary school classrooms has been shown to positively impact students' learning outcomes. There are numerous ways in which PBL helps students learn in the primary grades. There is still a paucity of research from reputable national journals on PBL in elementary education for this review. Articles on problem-based learning and the basics of education were pulled from the indexed national education journal Sinta Indonesia as part of the literature review method. Based on the criteria, 16 articles were chosen from the results list. The literature review results show that the PBL model can have a positive impact in general. The research that has been done has improved and had an effect. Elementary school students have made significant strides in a variety of areas, including behavior, attitude, academic performance, and character traits such as initiative, responsibility, cooperation, and critical thinking. Because of PBL's similarities to early childhood education, it should be considered for inclusion there.

Purpose Recent calls to improve transparency in peer review have prompted examination of many aspects of the peer-review process. Peer-review systems often allow confidential comments to editors that could reduce transparency to authors, yet this option has escaped scrutiny. Our study explores 1) how reviewers use the confidential comments section and 2) alignment between comments to the editor and comments to authors with respect to content and tone. Methods Our dataset included 358 reviews of 168 manuscripts submitted between January 1, 2019 and August 24, 2020 to a health professions education journal with a single blind review process. We first identified reviews containing comments to the editor. Then, for the reviews with comments, we used procedures consistent with conventional and directed qualitative content analysis to develop a coding scheme and code comments for content, tone, and section of the manuscript. For reviews in which the reviewer recommended “reject,” we coded for alignment between reviewers’ comments to the editor and to authors. We report descriptive statistics. Results 49% of reviews contained comments to the editor (n = 176). Most of these comments summarized the reviewers’ impression of the article (85%), which included explicit reference to their recommended decision (44%) and suitability for the journal (10%). The majority of comments addressed argument quality (56%) or research design/methods/data (51%). The tone of comments tended to be critical (40%) or constructive (34%). For the 86 reviews recommending “reject,” the majority of comments to the editor contained content that also appeared in comments to the authors (80%); additional content tended to be irrelevant to the manuscript. Tone frequently aligned (91%). Conclusion Findings indicate variability in how reviewers use the confidential comments to editor section in online peer-review systems, though generally the way they use them suggests integrity and transparency to authors.

The article concludes the description of the standard regional infocommunication system “Student and Labor” (ST), begun by the authors in previous publications in the “Informatics and Education” journal. This system is an integral part of the regional system for identifying, developing and involving creatively gifted youth in labor activity, starting from high school age. The S&T system is aimed at identifying and developing university students who are creatively gifted in the field of science and technology in the process of their gradual involvement in real labor activities in cooperation with leading enterprises in the region. The S&T system is aimed at identifying and developing university students who are creatively gifted in the field of science, technology and technology in the process of their gradual involvement in real labor activity in interaction with the leading enterprises of the region. Organizational and informational issues of its creation and functioning were discussed in previous articles, this article presents tools that allows a student to most effectively plan the developmental content of his activities, taking into account individual goals and interests, available resources, as well as a wide range of opportunities provided by the surrounding socio-economic environment. The central part of the toolkit is an individually adjustable optimization mathematical model. The article provides a formalized description of this model and considers an example of its use.

Based on the general systems theory, this study uses scoping method and bibliometrics to review 874 articles published in Vietnam’s  three educational journals in 2020. The article titles and abstracts with key words “theory, leadership, governance, management, administration” are selected and reviewed. The study tends to accept the hypothesis of “doctrine abundance, scientific theory shortage” in Vietnam’s educational research. The hypothesis of under-differentiation and confusion of leadership, governance, management and administration has also been accepted with the fact that there are the majority of articles on management and a few articles on leadership, governance, administration. Other finding is that most articles focus on internal elements including professional development, teaching and learning for cognitive objectives in systems of general education and tertiary education. Therefore, this study recommends to further do research and develop theories of educational sciences for all educational systems in general and preschool education and occupational education in particular. The research subject matter needs to cover external relationships between educational systems and environments. The objectives of comprehensive education should include ethical/moral, physical, aesthetic education harmonized with cognitive education to adapt to changes in the period of economic market conditions, international integration and digitalization.

This article described college majors' choices on future learning achievement according to students' talents. The researcher believes that selecting majors according to talent will determine students' success in the future. So, to prove this assumption, we proved it through a study of several related kinds of literature from several educational and higher education journal publications. The publications in question are, for example, ERIC, Google Book, Elsevier, Sagepub, and Taylor and France, which were published ten years ago. We designed this qualitative study with a phenomenological approach. We explored as much data as possible that addresses student choice significant variables and academic achievement when students enter the study period. The analysis model that we did is through data coding, evaluation, and in-depth interpretation to conclude to answer questions on the principle of validity. Based on the findings and discussion data, we could conclude that there is an influence between the choice of majors and college achievement because achievement will be obtained if the field of study follows students' interests and talents. Without interest and talent, it is challenging to achieve porosity following expectations.

The main objective of this study is to evaluate Citizenship Education (CE) literature through systematic bibliometric analysis. The science mapping method was conducted to analyze data. Because CE is also studied with the names of social studies and civic education in the literature, articles related to these topics were included in the study. 4029 articles and proceeding papers that were obtained from the WoS database were analyzed. As a result of the study, it was revealed that number of publications has been dramatically increased in recent years. Moreover, Theory and Research in Social Education Journal was found as the most relevant source in terms of number of publications about CE. Furthermore, the study conducted by Westheimer and Kahne in 2004 was determined as the most influential source that has the most citations per year in the field. Finally, it was found that USA and UK are the most productive, most cited, and most collaborative countries in terms of scientific publications.
